SDL & BNP: smashed out of Glasgow

A last minute mobilisation of anti-fascists yesterday saw off both the BNP and the Scottish Defence League, who both attempted to hold separate public activity in Glasgow city centre.
With fears that the SDL were attempting a ‘flash-mob’ style protest, in the vein of what the EDL organised in Oldham last weekend, SAFA activists were already keeping an eye on the city centre, when they came across the BNP setting up a stall around 1pm.

SAFA activists – plus people from left-wing stalls elsewhere in the city centre – were able to quickly mobilise to confront the BNP. Around 1.45pm, a large number of anti-fascists descended on the stall, which was kicked over and the contents of it torn up or seized. With a large crowd now gathered around, the BNP were left standing beside the ruins of their stall as up to 100 onlookers and anti-fascists chanted at them. The police showed up around 15 minutes later and attempted to gain control of the situation, but in the end were forced to remove the BNP members for their own safety.
Meanwhile, the SDL were beginning to gather in The Goose pub on Union Street. They indicated that they would heading to George Square at 5.30pm, for an assembly at the Cenotaph – their full intentions were unclear. By the time the 15 SDL supporters showed up, around 100 anti-fascists and local youth were gathered in the square. A brief confrontation ensued, with one SDL supporter arrested, alongside a 14 year old, who allegedly threw a punch in the direction of the SDL.
The SDL were denied the use of the Cenotaph, and the police were again forced to step in to remove the fascists from our streets.
All in all, a hugely successful day of direct action against fascism – let’s hope they got the message and don’t return any time soon.

In Chelyabinsk, a rock festival attacked, hundreds of Nazis. According to unconfirmed reports the girl had died 14 years.

Scores of bare-chested skinheads have attacked a crowd of about 3000 people at a rock concert in central Russia, beating them with clubs, media reports say.
Dozens of people were left bloodied and dazed in Sunday's attack, television and news agencies reported, and state news channel Rossiya-24 said a 14-year-old girl was killed at the concert in Miass, 1400km east of Moscow.
Fourteen ambulances were called to the scene, the channel said, citing witness accounts. The motive for the attack was not known, and authorities couldn't be reached for comment. The ITAR-Tass agency said local police had refused comment.
Many of Russia's top rock acts were attending the Tornado rock festival, the agency said.
Attacks on dark-skinned foreigners in Moscow and St Petersburg by Russia's neo-Nazi skinhead movement have been relatively common in recent years. The January 2009 murder of lawyer Stanislav Markelov and journalist Anastasiya Baburova prompted a Kremlin crackdown on ultra-nationalists, who were blamed for the killings.
In April, a Moscow court banned the far-right Slavic Union, whose Russian acronym SS intentionally mimicked that used by the Nazis' infamous paramilitary. The group was declared extremist and shut down. At the time the group's leader, Dmitry Demushkin, told The Associated Press it tried to promote its far-right agenda legally and warned that the ban would enrage and embolden Russia's most radical ultra-nationalists.
Russia's ultra-nationalist movement is so deeply embedded in the country's culture that militant groups have sprouted up around Russia to fight it. Anti-racist groups regularly spearhead attacks on ultra-nationalists, sparking revenge assaults in an intensifying clash of ideologies.
Neo-Nazi and other ultra-nationalist groups mushroomed in Russia after the 1991 Soviet collapse. The influx of immigrant workers and two wars with Chechen separatists triggered xenophobia and a surge in hate crimes.
Racially motivated attacks, often targeting people from Caucasus and Central Asia, peaked in 2008, when 110 were killed and 487 wounded, an independent watchdog, Sova, said. The Moscow Bureau for Human Rights estimates that about 70,000 neo-Nazis are active in Russia - compared with a just few thousand in the early 1990s.

English Defence League racists plans to attack cricket match at Lords london U.K.

The racist and Islamophobic thugs of the English Defence League are planning to launch an attack against the Pakistan cricket team at Lords. Pakistan are set to play England in matches from the 26th August until 30th Augast 2010. This is not an official EDL demonstration however members of the English Defence League in London are in fact planning the attack.

The English Defence League are a racist, Islamophobic organisation. the leaders of the EDL have links to the BNP, Combat 18, National Front, Anarchist Nationalists, UKIP, Blood & Honour etc.

They claim to be against "just extremists Muslims" but have attacked Mosques all over the UK. They have put pigs heads on Mosques across Britian, have pulled off women's hijabs, assaulted women and sent rape threats. The EDL have smashed up cars, houses, shops etc in Asian areas. A shopkeeper in Tower Hamlets London E1 was hospitalised in a racist attack.

Now the EDL have decided to attack "extremist cricketers" from Pakistan...simply because they are Muslims.

Siberian sentence for self-defense, anti-fascists

  27 July 2010 was sentenced Barnaul antifascists Alexis C. By Art. 118 of the Criminal Code "grievous bodily harm through negligence." Antifascist protect themselves and others from the attack of neo-Nazis.
This story began exactly 10 months earlier, in the suburb of Barnaul - Novoaltajsk (Altai Territory). 27 September, late in the evening, two young men (among whom was antifascist Alex C.) in a dark alley caught up with three unknowns.From the first seconds of communication, it became clear that the "catch up" - followers of extreme right-wing political ideas, obviously not wanting to disagree "on the world". As a result, a few minutes after having argued primitive Alex to protect himself and his friend, was forced to apply a totally legitimate self-defense weapon gas "blow". 27 July 2010, the City Court Judge Novoaltajsk Sukharev, OA, Alexei sentenced to 180 hours of hard labor and a fine of 500,000 rubles in favor of the victim.During the case, the indictment article was translated from 111 to 118, in the absence of evidence of malice of the accused.

Antifascists Altai outraged such a huge amount of fine. We believe the amount is unreasonably high, and we intend to appeal to the relevant structures.

Neo-Nazi skinheads jailed in Russia for racist killings

A court in Moscow has sentenced nine members of a neo-Nazi skinhead gang to prison terms of up to 23 years.

The gang members, most in their late teens, were found guilty of a string of brutal and very public murders.

The skinheads targeted people of Central Asian origin and posted videos of their attacks on the Internet.

Russia has seen a surge of racially-motivated attacks in recent years. In 2009 alone, neo-Nazis are believed to have killed more than 70 people.

‘Wrong accent’

The nine neo-Nazis called themselves “The White Wolves”.

They sought out Central Asian migrants, and attacked them in Moscow’s back streets.

They clubbed some of their victims to death with wooden planks and killed others by repeatedly stabbing them with knives and screwdrivers.

In one case, a glazier from Kyrgyzstan was stabbed 73 times, as the gang members shouted “Russia for the Russians!” and filmed the murder on their mobile phones.

The jury heard the gang was responsible for at least 11 killings, possibly even more.

And so – after five months of deliberations – came the prison terms: Twenty-three years for the gang leader and up to nine years for the others – the maximum prison term allowed in Russia for underage criminals.

Human rights activists have welcomed the sentencing.

They admit that the police are now cracking down on skinhead gangs.

But even so, last year alone, dozens were killed, and hundreds injured simply for not looking Slavic, and for speaking with a foreign accent.

Freedom for Jock Palfreeman- an Anti-Fascist imprisoned in Bulgaria

Free Jock Palfreeman.

Jock Palfreeman is a 23 year old Australian who had the courage to stand up against 16 Nazis on a night out in Sofia, Bulgaria. He witnessed the fascists chasing and attacking two young Roma boys. Jock ran to the boys' aid, he did his best to keep the Nazis at bay by waving a knife at them but they attacked him. Jock was left with nowhere to run and had no choice but to defend himself. Andrey Monov, one of the Nazis, was stabbed and killed and another, Antoan Zahariev was injured. The Roma boys ran away.
Jock has since been tried and sentenced for murder and attempted murder. He has been sentenced to 20 years imprisonment and has been fined 375,000 Australian dollars.
Andey Monovs Father is well known in Bulgaria and at the funeral there were a mixture of judges, police and politicians.
Jocks trial was a complete sham-yet another example of corruption and secret hand shakes in the judicial system. The prosecutions case was built on the witness statements made by the other Nazis that were there that night, all claiming that Jock randomly attacked the group and chased them with the intent of killing somebody. Key people and possible witnesses were never interviewed by police and CCTV footage from the scene miraculously went missing and many of the statements made at the time were not the same as the statements submitted to the court by the prosecution. Jock has two appeals before his sentence becomes final.
We must campaign to free Jock and put pressure on Bulgarian authorities to accept his appeal. If his charges were downgraded to excessive use of force during self-defence, he would be already out. We must make sure that this judicial farce is highlighted and that they will not be able to repeat it again.

Palfreeman had been sentenced to 20 years of prison for defending a passer-by and later on, himself from a vicious attack by a group of drunken football hooligans. As a result one of the attackers died and another got injured. Despite it being a clear case of self-defence and his version of events being supported by numerous witnesses, his trial was a farce. Anything working in favour of his defence was completely ignored by the judge.

SOLIDARITY TO THE IMMIGRANTS!

There has been an effort by a fascist “citizens group” formed by extreme right wing racists and nazis, with the police in the leading role, to establish a type of Apartheid in the square of Agios Panteleimonas. Now, a new racist experiment is attempted in Plateia Amerikis (Amerikis Square). In this neighbourhood, where locals and immigrants have been living together for years, coexisting in their daily life, in the streets, in schools, in squares and public spaces, racists and the state are trying to artificially create a field of racist brutality and police occupation.

In the reality of the financial, social and political crisis, the state and the bosses are launching and attack against the whole of society, intensifying exploitation and oppression. Immigrants and refugees, as the poorest and most excluded part of society, are the ones on whom this attack is focused in the most cruel way: Many are murdered in the borders, imprisoned in concentration camps, tortured in police stations. Living in the country, they are facing the most savage exploitation by the bosses. And they are hostages of the anti-immigration policies of the greek state which divides them into "legal" and "illegal". A perfect example is the new bill on citizenship that is defining which children have rights and which don’t! This way it is justifying the repression and manhunt of refugees and immigrants without papers while it promotes the incorporation of a small number of immigrants under the condition that they submit.

In this context, the state has every interest in spreading racism within the society. Through a racist campaign by the media, the state is trying to force “national unity to save the greek economy” and it is targeting immigrants as a “threat to security and stability” in order to cultivate fear, class divisions and social cannibalism, so that in conditions of poverty the oppressed will be turned against each other, against the most oppressed among us, and not against the real enemy: the state and the bosses who are looting our lives. This way the state intensifies police repression to force its anti-social policies, especially after the social revolt of December ’08 where locals, refugees and immigrants met in the barricades, giving only an image of the future the bosses will have to face. The state itself is breeding racist groups through its policies and it is supporting them through its official repression forces. This is what happened in Agios Panteleimonas neighbourhood, where the police covered the locking of the playground, arsons against places of prayer for Muslim immigrants, attacks in which immigrants were beaten and stabbed by racists. These racist groups are presented as “local citizens committees” in order for the state to give the image that police brutality against immigrants is supposedly a “popular demand of society”. And it is also using these groups to attack against people and spaces of social struggle that fight in solidarity and against fascism.

In mid December ’09, a fringe of “citizens”, mainly members of LAOS ultra-right party, showed up in Plateia Amerikis asking that the place will be “cleansed and evacuated”. Their gathering ended ingloriously, and Th. Plevris, a fascist member of LAOS in the parliament, left immediately, when dozens of people went to the square and declared that racists and misanthropists are not welcome in the neighbourhood. This effort of a hate committed to be established was also presented in “Eleftherotypia” newspaper, supposedly progressive. In an article published on 31 December ’09, under a heading saying that Plateia Amerikis is “a bomb about to explode”, a fake image of the neighbourhood is presented and the real motives of the racists are obscured by a discourse about cleanness and degradation problems of the area. Ultra-right conservatives and neo-nazis, with the blessings of the police, think that they can turn this multicultural neighbourhood of Athens, where locals and immigrants have a tradition of living together, into a field of intolerance and racist hatred. They think that they will be allowed to assault refugees and spaces of self- organization and social struggle (social centres, housing squats, parks).

Never! Like in every neighbourhood, locals and immigrants, we are people who live together everyday, in our workplaces, in schools, in the squares. We share common problems (unemployment, work exploitation, devastating way of life in an urban jail, without sufficient green and free spaces, control and repression). And we will fight together for a world of equality, having solidarity as our weapon and having as only enemy the enemies of freedom for all people.

- No racist and no fascist will define which people are allowed to live together in the neighbourhoods, to hang out in the squares and to walk in the streets of the city.

- No consent to the racist policies of the state against immigrants.

- No tolerance to the fascist – racist gangs.

11:55 railways still blocked. 360 nazis got stuck in the main train station in the east part of the city. attacks on nazis in hoffmannstr., one nazi car turned onto the roof.

12:15 nazis attack blockade at the bischhofsplatz.

12:45 eskalation at the bischhofsplatz: police loses control about the situation. the blockade is directly on the route of the arriving nazi-busses. one bus attacked by antifascists. 30 nazis escape from the bus and have to flee down the street.

12:50 already 1500 nazis at the train station neustadt.

13:10 a huge group of nazis is walking from the north-west of the city towards the train station neustadt. will come in contact with the blockade in hansastr.

This presentation tries to explain why our group exists.

Many anti-fascists are isolated. Alone or even in small groups, we are most of the time isolated. The situation is catastrophic. The Nazis marched in Berlin without much resistance few weeks ago, they are killing our comrades in Russia, they organize concerts and parades in the heart of Paris every year, anti-Semitism is growing rapidly throughout Europe, the worshipers of the Ustashi appear openly, the Swiss clearly displays their racism … ect. We antifascists, are overwhelmed by the fascist wave, not counting state repression rampant everywhere and especially in the Spanish State. Many people are isolated; our group tries to unite these people beyond their nationality.
This goal also reflects a lack of organization of the anti-fascist action abroad. This is due to a lack of structure. But there is sometimes a kind of navel gazing. When a local Antifascist group exists, it tends not to share his experience with other group. This must change.
We modestly invent a new way to design anti-fascism, internationally oriented and deeply cultural opened.

First, we use the tools offered by new technologies. Mainly Facebook. We know the risks we take. Each must be evaluated. It is obvious that in difficult local conditions, it is not advisable to join our group with his true identity. This is dangerous and we must think about our safety first.

However, we believe that the true bulwark against repression and against the aggression of fascist groups, is the “People fortress”. That’s why we must work to build a front mass. The use of new technologies can achieve this result more rapidly than by means of real life.

Today, there is a cultural battle to carry on the front of anti-fascism. This battle will not happen without the right tools we need to invent methods, to let the mass line come out.

Our experience is not unique. We do not believe that we are THE only group above the existing groups. It is rather a transnational anti-fascist group in the minds of the international brigades in preparation for the Fascist tide happens. We are a column, we hope many others will be born soon.

LAST NEWS FROM ATHENS ANTIFACISTS DEMO 6/2/10

There was a lot of people at the Propilea (the deanships building).At 12 noon there was 1000 people but more peoploe came as they finished theyre jobs so at 2pm there were about 1500 people. (inside and outside of propilea)
Note 1: we dont choose to do our demonstrations at night so we can all gather,as some others do once a year..
From early in the morning there was a sound system set up and the statement by the open assembly from the university of athens administration building was read (it was read not only in greek) while comrades were giving out leaflets to the people in the center of athens (that due to the day was very busy) and the space was guarded as it should.
On kolokotroni square at 9am there were 3 riot cop vans and 1 riot cop unit in the square (altogether 4) in the square block surrounding the there were 2 on each corner, 8.so altogether there 12!!
On clathmonos square there were 2 more vans. in the alleyway that turns to kolokotroni from panepistimiou 2 more vans, behind propilea 2 more and from propilea to akadimias another 3 vans!! 21 altogether and many of the Z and delta time and all sorts of cops and undercovers are not counted in that.
Thats what the government put out to protect its favorite children.
Note 2: The favorite children that werent more than 150 people,if you count in the vans,the cops were multiple, included are the spoiled arian brats of the "golden dawn" (since last night in their website they stated that they werent gonig to participate),but the arian (from albania)kasidiaris in his speech last saturday night invited the gathered crowd to be at propilea today.
It wasnt an accident that a minute after he said that,the live feed of the speech fell...
The traffic control camera was spinning like crazy pointing mostly towards the front of the propilea area (there was heavy traffic in the left lane next to the fountain) and all the usual undercovers in the cafes across propilea.
The metro closed as soon as some comrades moved towards it to find some "concerned" citizens that were telling people that if they are going to the faschists gathering to go through the stadiou street exit because there was a riot cop unit there aswell.
Also there were 2 incidents that happened which caused the traffic to come to a standstill (a good thing for the cops since the comrades were giving out leaflets nonstop)
Incident 1 At some point and when all was calm some thug from L.a.o.s. (he had a poster on his car) drives by and swears at some of the people from the guard of the demo who were sitting on a gate.The comrades asked him what he wanted and he replied with passion attacking them -fuck youa nd fuck the foreighners,get out of here etc.
While he was at a red light hesomeone hit the roof of his car ,when he saw some people coming close and asked him what hes talking about ,he opened the door and regrets it then opens it again and decides to fight with them (cursing the immigrants at the same time) !!
At this point and as he had gone beyond the limits there was a bit of chaos with him fighting, a lot of them hitting back and many comrades (because he was so cool that he started a fight while his family was in the car) telling his family that no one is going to touch them and giving them money for the car damages.
ofcourse the guy was no superman and got hit quite a few times..
There intevened the heroic m.a.t. (riot cops) they didnt calculate the weather since the teargas was blowing back to them and the comrades that went onto attacking them )in a man to man battle). The cops retrieved after about a minute because the people came out and moved towards them with not the best of intetions.
Let me say here that while all this was happening,the groups guarding the back stopped an attack from the riot cops.

As it happened Stefanos took off leaving his motorbike and as a good aryian ran to the riot cop to cry. The unit of riot cops that Stephanos ran to tried to attack but that failed aswell since everytime people saw cops coming close they prepared for battle.
P.S. Just wanna say a bravo to all that held strong since last night and kept Propilea open to everyone who passed through as night and all day today abd proved that everyone is there when they must be.

Today, on Sunday 17th January 2009, Bristol and Czech anti-fascists
gathered beneath the Spanish Civil War memorial in Castle Park to honour
these fallen comrades. Like others before them, they have paid the
ultimate price for their beliefs. We will never forget the debt we owe
to every one of these men and women who gave their lives in defence of
freedom.

But we do no justice to these heroes simply with words and monuments.
While the cancer of fascism threatens, we will continue to attack and
destroy it. And we will not stop until the disease is obliterated.

In the past week, the German police raided two places in Berlin and Dresden in search of posters for mobilisations against the world's biggest neonazi march in Dresden on February 13th with expectedly 7000 nazis from all over Europe. The prosecutors say appeals to block that march violate the law and are therefore illegal. All materials for the mobilisation they could find have been confiscated. Left politicians that pasted posters to protest against the police justice have been arrested. The mobilisation homepage dresden-nazifrei.de has been blocked which is in accordance with censorship in Iran and China.
It looks like Germany did not learn from history. In the shadow of democracy thousands of nazis may march on February 13th, which will be protected by more than 4000 police officers. The state of Saxony, which is ruled by a coalition of the conservative „Christian Democratic Union“ and the „Liberal Democratic Party“ made up a law who was to forbid both nazi and antifascist protests. While this law is likely to be rejected by the Constitutional Court and also contains vulnerabilitiesthat make it tough to use it to forbid the neonazi march, the state repression against the antifascist goes on. The State Institutions alienate law to their own purposes, most their action are likely to be declared illegal in hindsight.
Antifascist groups call upon all forces to come to Dresden in order to block the march. The bombing of Dresden 1945 was not an act of terrorism, but legitimate action in wartime, and may not be used for their purposes to spread hatred and their national-socialist ideology.

Talking is over – no place to hide for fascists, revisionists and nazis!

A local antiracist demo in Ampelokipoi, Athens, came under attack by fascist thugs, leading to the hospitalisation of one woman. More than 40 fascists

On Saturday 23 January an anti-racist demo of the Cultural Centre of Ambelokipoi in Athens was fiercely attacked by a fascist group of so-called “autonomous nationalists”. The demo was organised as a response to continuing disturbance of the functioning of the 50 year old Centre by fascist thugs who tried to burn it down last week. Before the official start-time of the demo, at 12, when only the organisers were in Panormou square, 40 fascist thugs attacked them with sticks leading to the wounding of three people, amongst which a 50 year old woman who has been hospitalised. During the attack riot police forces stationed in the square stood by watching, even moving aside to let the fascists strike. Nevertheless, the demostrators managed to counterattack chasing the fascists, despite police efforts to stop them.

Thr police finally intervened only after it became known that an MP was also amongst the people attacked. The police intervention has led to 44 detentions of fascists, who are being interrogated at the police headquarters.

The attack comes in a climax of similar moves that have been growing ever since the government announced a law that will legalise hundreds of thousands of second generation immigrants giving them the right to vote. The extreme-right has launched a campaign of hate in order to halt the procedure.

Ambelokipoi, the area where the attack took place, has a long record of fascist action, with leafleting at schools of the area coming under frequent attacks, once even at gun-point. This does not however mean that the neighbourhood is fascist as such. In fact, after the 50 year old woman was taken to the near by Red Cross Hospital, doctors and nurses came down to the street to join the demo in protest to the fascist violence. The demo formed a protest march towards the Athens police HQ which is also in the area.

The Coalition of Radical Left MP who participated in the demo has declared that “For one more time fascists are acting in the open with the toleration of the police against any kind of protest against racism and xenophobia. This terrorism will not pass. Fascism will not take root in this country”. The Left wing labour union umbrella “Autonomous Intervention” denounced the “Uncontrollable activity of neofascist groups which are provoking the democratic and anti-fascist sentiments of the people”.

It must be noted that recently Spartakos, the 30 year old “Network of Free Conscripts”, revealed that the Ministry of National Defense has been organising paramilitary training camps in Chalkdiki, where ex-soldiers and other militaristic elements have been trained in “counterterrorist” operations. After the revelations, Spartacus has come under the spotlight of the fascist parliamentary party LAOS, which has demanded from the Ministry the containment of the group. Spartakos has denounced efforts of detaining its members during leafleting, and has further revealed that a secret General Stuff document describing in detail the Network’s totally legal day-to-day activities has come to the Network’s possession.

Moreover, the escalation of fascist violence has inculded the torching of the Chania Synagogue which destroyed thousands of rare manuscripts and books. Regarding the torching (twice in one month), the police has arrested 1 greek and 2 british citizens as part of the anti-Semitic group that perpetrated the attack. The greek has confessed, while the british are denying any involvement in the act; 2 US citizens are also wanted for the same case. However, the police is refusing to follow the link to the torching of the Immigrant Social Centre of the city which occurred within the same time. Swastikas were found painted in the torched Immigrant Centre, while a slate of soap believed to be the group’s signature was found in the torched Synagogue.

The arrests come as a rare incident in a country where fascist action is tolerated by the state to the degree that it is often believed that fascist groups are in fact parastate terror organisations, similar to the ones kept by the state until the end of the junta.

The "peace-loving, tree-hugging non-violent non-Nazis" of the EDL (as they would have us believe) poured into Stoke today intent upon chanting racist slogans, making Nazi salutes and wreaking havoc upon another British town centre.

In a city where BNP councillors make up the political microclimate, and football hooligans veer towards the far right, the neo-Nazi thugs of the EDL attended in larger numbers than expected, and anti-racist demonstrators were down on turnouts in Manchester, Leeds and Nottingham.

Christian, Muslim, Jewish and Sikh faith leaders signed a pledge against all forms of racism, ahead of the event on Saturday, and there was an antiracist rally where resiliant locals dodged the Redwatch cameras to make there opposition to organised racial hatred known, but given the historical significance of this part of the Midlands, when Oswald Mosley chose to march through the very same place, many anti-fascist individuals felt intimidated to stand up to be counted. Those people who did join the meaningful anti-fascist protest however, were a broad cross-section of society, unlike the monocultural biggoted Islamophobes of the EDL.

Before every "anti-extremist demo" as the far right EDL like to cleverly brand their racist gatherings for the benefit of the press, deceitful public relations supremo and Portsmouth supporter Trevor KKKelway puts out public declarations to his own supporters to "behave nicely", knowing full well that his street army of hardened soccer hooligans, (for all of their anti-immigrant racism, setting up Facebook groups calling for the expulsion of Non-English speakers from hallowed shores of England), their (almost) totally white membership do not understand English.

Dogs bark, cows moo, cuckoos cuckoo, and brainless football hooligans scuffle and fight. The Police described the UAF protestors as being no-problem, however when the Wetherspoons bevvies had worked their way into the bloodstreams of the EDL thugs, they "turned native", chucking missiles at riot police, attempting to fatally crush policemen and women to death by attepting to turn over a police van, (see the BBC video http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/staffordshire/8476873.stm), and while chanting endless racist slogans, burst their way through riot shields, trampling several officers underfoot.

So much once again for the lies and spin of the EDL. When will the media stop being "political correct" about the EDL and stop calling a violent drunken gang of English nationalist racist football hooligans "anti-extremist protestors" with pussyfooting regularity. It's time that the media come clean about the hatred and violence of the EDL.

If anarchists such as G20 protestors had clashed with the police in such a way, trying to turn over police vehicles, attempting to cause grevious bodily harm to police officers, World War III would have erupted in the Sun, Daily Mail and the Daily Express, with gargantuous full-font headlines along the lines of "Lawless Anarchy Wrecks City", but when the aggressors are the violent Islamophobic EDL,media reports are predictability muted, which does little to quell rumours that the neo-Nazi organisation are part of a contrived state conspiracy to shore up the War On Terror, and maintain support for the War In Afganistan.

Several people have commented about the EDL's plans to become a political organisation to take over from the BNP after Old Nick finally pulls the plug from under his comrades feet and switches the lights off. Masquerading as a charity, working in conjunction with the BNP's Soldiers Off The Street charity, the EDL held unlicensed collections of cash for war victims, as the EDL hope to do what the BNP failed to do, infiltrate the British Army.

Politicisation of the British Armed Services sets a dangerous precedent, and the stupid actions of the EDL actually endangers the lives of British soldiers, as as well as fighting Taliban forces across the hills and valleys, they also work with Muslim villagers in matters of security, protecting villagers from violent Tabliban insurgencies. If British forces were to be infiltrated with the institutional racism of the EDL, and racist Muslim-hating bigots become commonplace in our armies fighting in Afganistan, the British Army would be labelled a Crusade.

The crusading theme continually recurs in EDL mythology. The sham "nationalism" of the EDL is a whimsical excuse for old-fashioned racial and religious prejudice, xenophobia and mass ignorance, and contrary to their parroted protestations, the EDL are happy to accomodate their hardcore nazi element. Wigan Mike is the mere tip of the Iceberg.

Attracting national socialists like flies to a fetid dungheap, the crude ignorant loathings of this dispicable far right organisation attract no end of racist nutters to their organisation, a fact self-evident from a random surf of not just the uncensored wastelands of Facebook, nor YouTube, but the EDL's very own "live outside broadcast channel".

Fascist pub The Gloucester Arms at 59 - 61 Leighton Road has been the centre of protests from anti racists following the decision by landlord John Coy

The majority of the pubs windows, including the window to the bedroom used by John Coyne and his wife have been shot out.
The pub walls have been daubed with "Close BNP Pub", anti racist lealfets have been sellotaped to the pub and an Irish Triclor flag has been draped across the pub. [A very large pair of knickers and an outsize pair of bloomers were draped across the other side...]
The anti racist campaign began when anti fascists learned that the pub was ameeting place for organised racists. A protest was called by Camden Anarchists against the pub.
During the meeting held by the Jobbik Party, the landlord of the Gloucester Arms John Coyne came out and told the Camden New Journal and anti racist protesters to "go whistle". He also told the Camden New journal that the neighbours were "all a bunch of swearing tossers and they're all barred anyway".
He said that when he first bought the pub he barred over 70 people. The CNJ interviewed Coyne in the empty pub while the fascists, mostly in sunglasses and bouncer style black bomber jackets sat in a circle having a meeting in the back room.
The pub and the occupents have become the centre of a simmering feud between the pub and neighbours some of whom share an adjoining wall to the pub which hasn't been soundproofed for the level of noise generated. They have complained that children have been let into the pub where Coyne watches hardcore porn in the bar on the pub TV.

Residents have called for a week of action and have asked that people contact Camden Council and ask that the pub license [held by Trust Inns LTD] be revoked.

Camden United Against Fascism are holding a meeting next week, Tuesday 26th January at 7pm, 99 Torriano Avenue, Kentish Town Camden NW5 to discuss how best to keep nazis off of Camden's streets and to adddress the problem posed by the pub.
