All arrestees from the demo of June 29th have been released today (4/7) under restrictive conditions.

thens…

The people arrested during the general strike demonstrations of June 28th and 29th need our support. It is urgent that 3,000 Euros are raised for one demonstrator alone, so that he doesn’t go to jail. The money needs to be collected until Thursday night, July 7th. An initiative in solidarity with the arrested demonstrators has made a call to everyone for financial support. You can contact the initiative directly at solidaridad2829@yahoo.gr. You can also offer bail money via the Occupied London paypal account, occupiedlondon@riseup.net—if you do so, please also e-mail the solidarity initiative at the address above. CLIK ON FOTO....

Letterbomb in Athens sent to the Ministry of Justice

2/2/2011

A letter bomb was sent to the Ministry of Justice in Athens today. It was sent to minister Kastanidis. Employees of the ministry found it suspicious and called the cops and bomb squad. They took the envelope outside and did a controlled detonation. It was a large file with aluminum foil and light explosives inside.
The envelope had as sender name “Independent initiative of practicing lawyers”.
Embassies and ministries have been alerted to check all the mail, since they assume that not only one was sent.

Responsibility claim for incendiary attack on the “GAP” Athens, 4/1/11

Responsibility claim for incendiary attack on the “GAP”
Athens, 4/1/11

We are at war we are not celebrating...
We have hostages and we act...
Fire, attack, destruction, this is our choice, this is the side we choose...

Because the masks have fallen, because its the moment where the consumerist smiles are too many, the life of plenty, on credit, collapsed.... Hypocrisy and indifference are from now on a conscious attitude.

And we consciously and decisively from the side of the urban guerilla warfare, moved, on the night of friday 31/12/10, around the streets of Psihiko area, welcoming the new year in the GAP shop, contributing to the fireworks of the changing of the year with 2 incendiary devices.
This is our gift to the market and the downfall its taken, something that especially pleases us....

We do not forget the hostages in the cells of democracy. We salute the solidarity gatherings outside the various prisons of the country, on new years eve.
We do not forget our comrades and we respond to the call for active solidarity before the upcoming trial for the case of the Revolutionary Organization Conspiracy Cells of Fire.
Now we speak with actions....

P.S. Strength and decisiveness to all those who walk the paths of denial.

Solidarity assemblies outside prisons across Greece

Each new year’s eve we do not forget those who are buried in the prison cells of the republic. One more year, we found ourselves next to imprisoned comrades and all those detained who do not bent neither bow their head, who dared to resist and fight against the regime. We also stand in solidarity to all imprisoned activists who fight for better conditions of incarceration, and claim their self-evident rights even though they’re still deprived of their freedom.
Athens: more than 400 people gathered outside Koridallos prisons. One of the louder slogans was ‘Neither criminal neither political; set fire to all prisons.’
Video of the second intervention, outside the female prison wing:

Thessaloniki: about 100 people gathered outside Diavata prisons. On their return, they stopped at the police headquarters of Thessaloniki (GADTH), where a comrade is detained after he was arrested during the invasion in the anarchist squat Nadir; he has made an appeal.
Heraklion, Crete: 30 comrades held a motorized march towards Alikarnassos prisons, making an intervention at the rear of the prisons with fireworks, etc.
Volos: at least 70 comrades chose to get as close as possible to the people behind the bars of the Greek republic. The detainees, who were in tension since early in the evening, cried out slogans and hit the cell bars as soon as comrades got there with slogans and fireworks. There was also a mini demonstration round the juvenile prison.
Grevena: about 70 people gathered outside the Feli prisons, where a live broadcast of solidarity was held.

NEW YEARS EVE OUTSIDE KORIDALLOS PRISONS ATHENS

From the prisoners in the prisons of Georgia that started the biggest mobilization in the history of N. America, to the imrisoned Palestinian fighters.
From the imrisoned Chilean anarchists and the revolts in the prisons of San Miguel, Antofagasta, El Manzano etc, to the fires in the flat-roofs of the prisons Malandrinou.
From the hunger strikes in the white cells in Turkey, to the "terrorists" that were tortured in the hellholes of Guantanamo.
From the thousands of immigrants in prisons and in concentration camps, to the addict prisoners that are cramed in the cells of "welfare state".
With dozens of fighters locked u in the Greek prisons and with the recent mass mobilizations around the country (with abstention from rison food and hunger strikes).

. the common struggle inside and outside the walls continues
until the destruction of every prison and system that gives birth to it ...

solidarity goes beyond walls,
through bars, beyond borders

more fotos from today Athens!A short report from the Athens streets today:

More than 150-200.000 people to the streets with angry moods. People from the organized political scene (anarchists and antiauthoritarians, leftists, a seperate march for PAME-KKE stalinists),base syndicats and workers groups, and also many "mainstream" workers (the strike was called and covered by the main sell-out trade union umbrella GSEE, and others (an initiative of families with more than 3 children: they are somewhat of privilegded traditionally in Greece, a status they lose to the austerity measures now), neighborhood and residents assemblies and anti-garbage-dump initiatives (there is actually a violent clash and police occupation in Keratea's planned dump outside athens these days). Most of the country's economy was blocked, since workers in ports, airports, trains, banks etc went on a strike.

Some speak of as large a participation as in May 5th demo (~300.000. where 3 bank employees died in a fire caught by molotov cocktails, locked inside their bank). Probably this was one of the reasons there was a real restrict of using fire against such buildings in this demo, virtually all of the "cocktails" were offered to the cops (also to a few luxurious cars). One of the few exceptions was the Grande Bretagne hotel opposite to the parliament that got hit by some really strong kind of firecrackers(?). Also, a former right-wing minister (Hadjidakis) got spotted and beaten to bleeding by mainly mid-aged "mainstream" demonstrators. Hours of strong clashes around Syntagma square (parliament) and all the way to the polytechnic.

The police gangs of Dias/Delta motorbike cops had their asses kicked maybe for the first time in such a massive scale, same goes for their riot-cop mates. At least 2 of their bikes were set on fire http://athens.indymedia.org/local/webcast/uploads/img_0248.jpg (also a riot police van) while many of their "kamikazee" attacks against the crowds were repelled with stone pelting and face-to-face fights by all means! To get even, they retaliated against passerbyers and isolated demonstrators. Thousands of plain-clothes & hooded pigs in large masses of 50-100 or more, sometimes even entering the demonstrations seemingly as yet another block! Many demonstrators got followed by such pigs after the demo and some got abused or even prosecuted for a "control check" at the police headquarters (a police tactic to intimidate and scare individuals out of participating in angry demos). Lots of people retreated to the Polytechnic university, around which battles with every kind of cops followed.

The plain-clothes cops took care of the greatest part of the repressive work today, this could be a new police tactic for demos in Greece, since in such a way the police doesn't seem so much (good for the TV and foreign press), but is more invasive and uncontrollable.

The people seemed to be overwhelmed with anger rather than fear of the police state terror, much actions of solidarity were demonstrated leading to a relatively small amount of arrests-kidnaps of demonstrators by the cops.

Some also speak of fascists with battons around the cops, attacking retreating demonstrators, but they could be as well plain clothes officers, as there aren't any differences in our days, except of a salary (the cops are probably the only "employees" in the country -ok maybe also the priests, judges...you get the idea- that dont suffer huge >30% wage cuts).

After the demo police took over seemingly every street in central athens, while motorbike patrols moved in Exarchia, to take over the streets, probably to avoid people staying out and moving to any strategic occupations and plans for the next moves.

Strong clashes in Keratea district (11th & 12th December 2010) athens greece

.
.

Strong clashes in Keratea district (11th & 12th December 2010)
The residents of Keratea district have gathered since early Saturday morning
at Ovriokastro in Keratea district opposing against the State’s decision to
build up a garbage storage area on the certain spot. The State has decided to build
up the garbage storage area of the whole Attica’s waste on Ovriokastro,
despite the fact that the certain spot is officially an archeological site
(decision of the Central Archeological Council). In the mobilization
of the citizens participate also members of the major council who also provide
the citizens
with the town-hall’s vehicles. Earlier on Saturday, around 5:00, the pigs of
repression forces
arrived at Ovriokastro in order to guard the area, so bulldozes could start
the construction. Hundreds of people started directing on the spot trying
to block the construction.
The pigs reacted in their usual neo-fascistic methods by throwing tear-gas,
sound-shine grenades and beating up children, youths, men and women,
people in their third age.
The citizens responded with stones, Molotov cocktails, flaming barricades
and woods they
could find around in order to protect themselves and nature. After the straight reaction
of the citizens the pigs stated that they would leave the spot, accepting that their presence
there is illegal. Instead, more pigs started gathering (around 400 of special pigs) but also
more citizens started directing to Ovriokastro. During the clashes, a small fire raised up “accidentally” in the forest because of a tear-gas canister. Later in the
three water canon cop-vehicles started directing also on the spot, while a cop-helicopter
was continuously flying above the mountain. The pigs remained in the area for
the whole night.
The companies who are involved in the certain construction:
  ΜΕΣΟΓΕΙΟΣΑ.Ε. - ΠΡΟΕΤΑ.Ε. - ENDRACO Α.Τ.Ε.
On Sunday mourning around 2000 people started directing towards the spot.
The pigs started the war for one more time and the citizens kept on defending
with any weapon they could find around. The clashes keep on during the whole
afternoon with the cops beating up even children and women but also having
a water-canon with them – important to mention that this is the first time
of its use after the fall of the military junta.
Mr. Marinos Aliferis, a journalist, was injured by the pigs’ violence
and had to go to Evaggelismos Hospital. Civil cops have also
switched off for several minutes the live-streaming camera of zougla.gr.
Meanwhile, flaming barricades
are set up on Lavriou Avenue and some citizens have also
sabotaged the electricity supply.
Also shots from a gun have been heard in afternoon, possibly from citizens
who shot on the air to make the pigs think twice about their actions.
The guerrilla keeps on until the time that this article is being written
with barricades on several roads, attacks with stones and Molotov cocktails
and body to body fights.
The citizens have made it to keep the pigs stepping
back anytime they were trying to attack. Tones of tear-gas have been thrown
but the people still resist.
Residents from other areas have started directing to the spot
driving also four bulldozes with them in order to protect themselves
from pigs’ violence.
The people have announced that they will remain there for the whole night.

Police closed roads and deployed several thousand officers around the city, but maintained a minimal presence at the site where some 1,500 students gathered outside Athens University's main buildings.O COPS INSIDE ATHENS 6/12VIDEO FROM LARISSA DOWN OF GREECE 6/12 VIDEO FROM VOLOS DOWN OF GREECE 6/12

6 Dec 2010 - On the second anniversary of the murder of Alexandros Grigoropoulos there were demonstrations in 17 cities of Greece. In Athens, two events took place: the first in the morning, called by students and teachers, the principal in the afternoon with a greater presence of anarchists, anti-authoritarian and leftist movements.

During the first march, students greeted the police throwing oranges, previously, in cities and suburbs, spontaneous demonstrations of high school students marched through the streets and in the area of Aigaleo, a hundred of them collided with the police after they entered the local police station.

Before the main march began, the fighting had already begun, triggered by the ban to start the event and provocations of the police in the university area where the participants were gathering.

The ban on demonstrating and the charges against the first clustered in the street, failed to block the various groups that were gathered beyond the police lines.

Thousands of people then came together, without permission, in the streets of Athens and the deployment of riot cops, 3000 agents, attacked at several points surrounding the blocks of protesters who responded with rocks, sticks, cans of paint and some petrol bombs (mainly in clashes outside Parliament).

The riot cops first responded with tear gas, then with stun grenades.

All night the fighting continued in the district of Exarchia, where Alexis was killed. Still charges, tear gas, and attacks against police barricades, many protesters held, some wounded among the police.

It seems that the cops have also destroyed the marble plaque placed by demonstrators in memory of Alexis.

For now, according to the regime media, it seems there are 84 held among the demonstrators.
