Letter from anarchist comrade Dimitris Michael (greece)

Letter from Dimitris Michael

On the 4th of December a Hollywood-style production took place within the framework of political “witch-hunts”, produced by the (anti-)terrorist unit, the Mass Media and as guest-stars five anarchist comrades and myself. In a movie-show where houses are turned into “hide-outs”, books into “illegal press”, friendship and comradely relations into fabricated “terrorist organizations”, the people in struggle into “bloodthirsty monsters”. And of course the recipe that follows is simple. There is no need for real evidence to put someone in a “great democratic” cell. Any anarchist / person-in-struggle that has a friend, comrade, family relationship or has ever stepped inside the house of a supposed “terrorist” becomes her/himself guilty until, and if, the opposite is proved. By the way, they did not hold back from reaching the point of creating fake relationships and contacts. I refer to the arrest on remand of anarchist comrade Christos Politis.

More analytically, the chronicle of my arrest up until my imprisonment on remand:

To start with, at 20:00 on Saturday 4th of December I am taken to the Police Station of Siteia town in Crete town under the pretence of checking my identity. Two hours later, they inform me that some of their colleagues have arrived from Athens and ask me to give them a DNA taste, something that I refused to do. After some time, eighteen police officers take me to the house where I used to live in order to collect evidence (cigarette buts, drinking straws, empty beer bottles, note-books, mobile-phones, etc). During all this time I was asking to be informed whether I was accused of anything and so to be able to communicate with a lawyer. Their continuous answer was that “that will also happen, we will tell you later”. After the end of the raid in my house I am again taken to the Police Station of Siteia, where they announce that there is an arrest warrant against me, without telling me what I am accused of and from there they transfer me in handcuffs to Athens and specifically to the 12th floor of the Antiterrorist Authority at 09:00 on Sunday 5th of December. There they keep me as a hostage handcuffed behind my back and standing still, staring at the corner of a wall for five or six hours. At one point, they take me into another room to take my finger-prints, which I refuse to give. Back again in the office where I was before, this time in the presence of two men without hoods covering their faces in order to have “a friendly chat”. They were asking me about a number of things, about my past, about several persons familiar or unknown to me. My answer was that I do not want to discuss with them and that I want a lawyer next to me. One hou later, a man appears who was presented as chief of the rest and he starts throwing an amount of moronic lies in my face in the style “that are there finger-prints of mine everywhere in several houses and on many weapons”, places and items whose existence I never knew of before, and “that it would be good for me to speak out, given that my comrades have already pleaded guilty to my participation in the organization” and other bullshit. Of course, my answer was “Say whatever you like, I do not have anything to say to you”. Then, I get led to a nearby office, from where they write a ridiculous paper with the heaviest fake-constructed accusations and from there I am taken in the direction of the courts.

It took two days delay for me to testify, as my trial brief arrived at the last moment, then came the moment to recognize the principal roles of the investigator and the prosecutor who were deaf to everything that I was refusing to say oconcerning the methodized scenarios of the cops (5 telephone conversations and three dates with friends) which, joined with the tv-cannibalism of the Mass Media were sufficient for me to be sent to Trikala prison on remand.

Of course, the above event is neither the first or a surprise to me. It is a standard tactic of power with the Mass Media as allies for backbiting, defamating, revenging and outlawing social struggles, friendship and comradely relationships of people in struggle but also the anarchist movement for the over-throwing of capitalism, which I participate in. Especially in times like the present! While the government, the state, capital, the mass media, the mechanisms of authority, enforcement and repression are agonizing fiercely to safeguard social peace and consistency against the perspective of a massive social insurrection or revolution, in times like the present where the biggest looting-transfer of social wealth from the base to the top of the social hierarchy under the cover of the global economic crisis and under the stipulations of the memorandum imposed by the global loan-sharks of the International Monetary Fund and the European Central Bank is taking place.

During a season in which the government-robber-gang is methodically looting the workers’ income day by day, with the abolition or scorn of work and insurance guarantees gained by bloody struggles in the past, always following the orders of the foreign and local forces of capital in Greece and the European Union. Meanwhile legalizing violence against protesters, arrests and imprisonment without trial, the mass media’s campaign to target individuals and display for public ridicule struggling people who never learned how to bow their head and are holding offensive positions against the system.

SOLIDARITY TO ALL THE IMPRISONED AND ACCUSED COMRADES, PEOPLE IN STRUGGLE, ANARCHISTS, ANTI-AUTHORITARIANS, REVOLUTIONISTS AND TO ALL THOSE PEOPLE WHO WITH DIGNITY AND CONSCIOUSNESS KEEP RESISTING AND STRUGGLING.

Letter declaring prison food abstention in greece

We know it by first hand. Thousands of paths lead to freedom and thousands of disagreements can exist among those that fight. Besides, each individual, each group, each organization consists another tendency of the revolutionary community, however…

When we close our eyes the same pictures are painted in our minds. When we take our decisions the same smile is shaped on our faces. When we go on the attack same are the pulses of our hearts and when we fall in the hands of the enemy we draw and emit the same force. And we share the same pride, the same weirdness, the same sky…

The hit on one of us, is a hit on all of us. And the struggle of one of us, is the struggle of all of us. The tortures, the trials, the prosecutions of a generation of guerillas, revolutionaries, anarchists might aim separately, but they will have all of us against them.

In the war that we consciously accentuate and that has no end, no revolutionary will be alone.

The increased qualitatively and quantitatively hostilities, the hostages of war that ignited it, are and will be met with the proportionate upgraded repression.
Specially made rooms, increased measures of safety, the filling of those who attend the trials, will be included in the scedule of the theatrical plays of governmental revenge.

The war cry of the members and the defendants of the Revolutionary Organization Conspiracy Cells of Fire inaugurates the new battles that will take place from now on on the field of the enemy.

It shows us that this war does not stop with the arrest of a fighter and continues under any condition.
From the avenues with flaming barricades, to the careful escapes in the alley ways of the metropolis, from the yard of every prison to the court rooms full of "ekamites" (special forces), we would stand tall in order to defend our honour, freedom, the struggle, the revolution.

We therefore begin abstention of prison food as of today today Thursday* 27th of January as a token of friendship, respect and revolutionary solidarity to the struggle of the members and the defendants of the Conspiracy Cells of Fire, that give a luminous example of dignity and proud attitude, affixing the revolutionary intolerance against the intolerance of their persecutors and state justice.

P.S. We know that the abstention from the prison food as a mean of struggle has a demanding character and has a limited scope, we cannot however but follow it as an aspect of the spectrum of possibilities that we have at our disposal and to completely support as our choice under these particular conditions.

Letter from the two Anastasiadis brothers, on remand in Avlona prison for the Nadir case (thessaloniki)

The current situation is a period of economic and political crisis of the capitalist State as its decisions and the new measures begin to be controversial, while at the same time the strength of society is being tested and continuously running out, causing turbulence and the risk of a subsequent social explosion.

Such a case is also the movement of the people who daily refuse to pay to drive through motorway tolls (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDI2jPb3ft8), as also people's reaction to the government’s plans to build a landfill refuse disposal plant in the district of Ovriokastro in Keratea that has resulted in violent clashes with the repressive forces. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-cdEr_kYzqc). In addition to the above also comes also the massive strike of 15th December in Athens and Thessaloniki when clashes broke out with anarchists, anti-authoritarians, and other radical groups confronting the cops, but also with fire attacks against banks, luxury cars and shopping centres. At the same time the beating up of the ex-minister and parliamentary member of Nea Dimokratia (right wing party) Mr. Kostas Hadjidakis took place, after he was spotted by citizens as he was trying to pass through the demonstration.

Before this, however, the State wants to prevent such repeated disturbances by any possible means, smashing the most radical parts of the struggle, such as the anarchist one. A few days before the 17th of November demonstration an attack by the para-State takes place against Radio Revolt in Thessaloniki, an attack aimed at the disorganization and disruption of counter-information by the Radio Station, which despite the total destruction carried on transmitting from inside the anarchist centre of NADIR. So, considering also the invasion of the RESALTO social centre in December 2009, in the same way the repression is evident this year in the police invasion of the energetic and always active centre of NADIR, seizing among other things, a large amount of money designated for purposes of the struggle and the server of Radio Revolt thereby succeeding in temporarily preventing the Radio Station from going on air.

There is no doubt about the great increase in political prisoners in recent years. We would like to make this clear, the work of the State repressive apparatus is extending to the constant persecution and the arrest of comrades, wanting in this way to destroy any kind of insurrectionary mood. But on the other hand, the State faces our determined revolutionary comrades, with more methodical actions and mobilizations against the State and capitalism, fully aware of the risk that we and many other comrades still in the hands of the State ran.

On remand for one and a half months now, and as the days pass the perception of the events is changing considerably, since the absolute lack of activity is complemented by considerations of self-criticism and personal development.

Prison is a path that each revolutionary person in struggle must take into account individually from the start.

Nobody can say that the conditions are more or less good, since he/she lacks freedom and his or her uniqueness, but even under the worst conditions you can find data that can be in your favour so time can roll on your side.

There is no restriction, no authority, no kind of violence that can damage our determination, our actions and our ideas… On the contrary, we are getting stronger and stronger!

SOLIDARITY TO OUR COMRADE IVAN G. WHO IS ALSO ACCUSED IN THE NADIR CASE

Letter from I.G. on remand for the Nadir Case in thessaloniki

Early in the afternoon of 4th December an organized raid by 50 cops took place against the anarchist centre of Nadir, on the ground-floor of the B section of the students’ block of buildings, in this way violating the university asylum. The cops raided the place, arresting 9 people, 3 girls and 6 boys, injuring several of them. Later we were taken to ΓΑΔΘ (General Police Headquarters of Thessaloniki), where I am still being held.

On the first day of our arrest, until we were brought behind the bars of these squalid cells, something that lasted about 12 hours, I was the only person who was handcuffed, with my hands going numb because of the pain, with the excuse that the guards did not have the keys or orders to take the handcuffs off. At the same time the cops tried to get statements from us and pushed us to sign confessions. At that time the translator tried to mislead me (she was authorized as translator by the cops and probably works in their interests) to sign a confession telling me that in reality it was a legal document, stating that during the body check on me by the cops no mobile phone was found on me.

Of course, like the rest of my comrades, I did not sign anything, but I was close to being trapped and sinking into deep shit, as has probably already happened with other Bulgarians with the same translator.
So started the racist discrimination against me, because I come from Bulgaria, discrimination that still exists today.

After almost 12 hours we were led to the detention cells of  Γ.Α.Δ.Θ .  (General Police Headquarters of Thessaloniki),  where the conditions of detention for prisoners are deadly, since for the first days they did not give us any blankets and many of us were sleeping on the floor.

Two days later and accompanied by a whole army of cops, we were taken to the prosecutor who announced the ridiculous accusations blaming us as responsible for all the damage that has happened on the University Campus over recent years. Three days later we appeared before the investigator who decided about my pre-trial custody. Once again my home country became serious evidence for my imprisonment, despite the fact that I had the same accusations as the rest of my comrades who were released.

My opinion is that this whole cop action that reminds me of a Hollywood movie took place just because it was two days before the 6th of December, the date when Alexandros Grigoropoulos was murdered, event that led to the revolt of 2008 breaking out.

The cops’ action obviously took place in order to create a climate of terror before December 6, just like what happened last year against Resalto anarchist centre in Athens.

With this action, the cops also succeeded in stopping the self-organized radio station Radio-Revolt 88.7 FM from transmitting because among the objects they seized was the server of the radio station. The wagon of Radio-Revolt was attacked one month before by the Para-State and after this the server was transferred to the anarchist centre of Nadir.
The anarchist centre of Nadir is an open social space with a sound studio, cafeteria, library, gym, and also a place for people to sleep. The centre was visited every day by many people who wanted to develop socio-political action, events that I do not consider negative.
In conclusion, for almost 40 days now I am a hostage in the squalid conditions of detention offered by the cells of democracy. Despite all the above, they will not make
it to break me because I know that it’s not me who is the victim, but the cops themselves because their rotten minds cannot even understand what freedom means.
Solidarity to all those people who, like me, stay in the squalid cells behind bars because I know and believe that all together we are powerful and there are no prisons or authority that can scare us or knock us down.

Letter from imprisoned comrade Christos Politis, one of the 6 arrested on the 4th of December during a widespread anti-terrorist operation.

Some very first thoughts on my detention

1. This letter does not constitute an overall political analysis of the anti-terrorist operation which began on December 4th, but rather a first political reading of my detention; of its meanings and wider aims.

2. It is a fact that I find myself in prison exactly because I am an anarchist; because for 15 years now I am continuously active through this radical political element. A reading of the legal documents of my case, together with the cynical statement by the chief of the greek police – that I was arrested because I was released in the High-court case*- are indisputable proof of this. I find myself locked up here, and I am deeply convinced of this, for our reactions to the murder of Christoforos Marinos in ’96, for the barricades outside the examination centres in ’98, for the anti-war demonstrations in ’99, for the demonstrations against the european leaders’ summit in Thessaloniki in 2003, for the student protests in ’06-’07, for our solidarity to the prisoners’ struggles and to all those prisoners who refuse to bow their head, for the December insurrection, for…, for… For being everywhere, with our smaller or larger forces, where nothing seemed certain and social entropy gave again a meaning to our lives and strength to our struggles.

3. On the 4th of December we were taken to police headquarters together with my friend and comrade Kostas Barlis, from outside a café in Exarchia by police officers from the Delta force and the antiterrorist unit. My friend is released approximately 16 hours later. I am handed the report of my arrest 26 hours after I was taken in. And then the madness begins. Because if during the last period we can see in a series of cases the criminalization of relationships of friendship and comradeship, in my case they can’t even “invoke” that. I am in prison for a case in which I do not even know my fellow accused. No witnesses recognize me, no police officers are claiming that I met with anyone of my fellow accused, none of the phone taps have a mention of my name and as far as the search carried out in my house the only thing worth mentioning is that they stole my shaving machine, so also my DNA (I will note that this is not even mentioned in the confiscation report). However, according to the antiterrorist unit the first “incriminating” evidence was that on the night of November 24th they saw me moving parallel to Praxitelous street in Piraeus. So what if on Iroon Politehniou street, three side-streets down the road, is were my attorney’s office is situated. So what if I paid him a visit that night as in a few days I had to present myself to the interrogator in regards to the High-court case. The second “indisputable” piece of evidence is that I had a drink in Exarchia, the area in which I socialize with dozens of people everyday, with an “unknown person” who according to the antiterrorist unit had eaten earlier a souvlaki with one of my fellow accused. Each can come to their own conclusion. Of course, for that whole week that I was kept in the antiterrorist division I remained isolated in a 1by3 cell, without a window and with the light constantly switched on. And then came the pre-determined decision for my detention and not only that but in Grevena. Grevena is a high-security prison where only long-term convicts are held and not those accused pending trial, plus it is situated 500km away from Athens, making any communication with friends, comrades, family and lawyers almost impossible.

4. The two very serious prosecutions against me within the space of two weeks and my detention should not spread confusion and be considered only as a continuous effort for me personally to be placed in a regime of suffocative control. On the contrary, this whole setting of extermination lies in the heart of modern repressive policy; in the heart of a multilevel plan aiming at the intimidation and the imposing of discipline on the new “dangerous classes” and the neutralization of the regimes’ political rivals. Aiming at the stultification, in other words, of the projects of self-activity, direct action, solidarity and the struggle for the re-appropriation of life; at the undermining of the anarchist and anti-authoritarian dynamic inside social fermentations. So that the recent general strike and the dynamic demonstrations of December 15th last for only a day, so that resistance is devalued, those in struggle are scorned, Keratea becomes simply an area a little outside of Athens, December is forgotten and celebrated like the 17th of November. And for the kingdom of death and order to be established, for the victorious attack of the capitalist world to triumph, it is necessary to multiply all those that find themselves targeted. The penal spectrum must be widened and legal concepts must be expanded with a permanent character of intentional vagueness; to lose every meaning or rather, even better, to acquire their full meaning with the enforcement of a state of emergency. Without any reserve, the interrogators and the prosecutors keep proving that their only preoccupation is how to crush the enemy within. And after, it’s the turn of the monotony of the correctional facilities and the pure, raw violence of incarceration.

5. The fabricated and canalized prosecutions based on the scenarios and fixations of the antiterrorist unit resemble cluster bombs. They aim somewhere in order to strike in a large radius around them, to destroy a wider area. This prosecution is not about me personally. This prosecution wants to instill fear in everyone. To make us cautious with who we talk. With who we go fly-posting. With whom we bring out a pamphlet. With whom we walk side by side in demonstrations. With who we exchange points of view at different events. And of course where we go. To infuse our everyday life with suspicion and fear. The clerks of the troika offer us generously the permanent “alibi” of obedience, a transient security and the false certainty of submission. Because who will dispute, without making a complete fool of themselves, that if we wanted nothing, if we were anarchists until we finished high-school, if we were “relieved” with the signing of the memorandum, if we hated immigrants, if we were fuming against the koukouloforoi (hooded-ones), if we were in fear of the “terrorists” neither myself nor many others who resist would have suffered the consequences of repression

6. The struggle, however, will not retreat. The regime and its various officials will never feel neither joy nor relief. We stand by the imprisoned anarchists, the prisoners in struggle. Until their liberation. We continuously contribute to the –theoretical and organizational- composition of our class and we develop the necessary strategic planning for achieving its victory. Let’s stand up. And let us take the next step. For the social/class counterattack. For the proletarian storming of the heavens.  P.S. As a good comrade once said to me: “Patience. Strength. Faith in the cause. We are right. Final.” These words will be my guide in these truly difficult moments.

* On May 22nd , 2008 and around noon on the way to get my motorbike which I had left near Panormou metro station I was taken to Police Headquarters where I was asked various questions on my whereabouts the previous night. After some hours I was released. On the previous night an arson attack on vehicles had taken place within the perimeter of the high court of Athens. From this moment in time and onwards published articles start to appear based on police scenarios, which link me in the beginning with the arson attack against vehicles at the high court and later on present me as participating in various organizations and attacks, many times as being a leading figure. Last November they actually reached the point of announcing through the television an arrest warrant against me, which in reality did not even exist. At the same time, for long periods I had visible police surveillance. And the highlight, 2,5 years later I was summoned to defend myself as I was accused for the High court case. Indeed I presented myself to the interrogator on December 2nd and was released (for 2 days!).

LETTER OF KOSTAS SAKKAS FROM NAVPLIO PRISONS 3/1/11

Because of the world economic crisis which is a consequence of the bankruptcy of the capitalistic model and neo-liberal economic policy of the western states and governments, the biggest and and most massive anti-popular attack in the world and mainly on the societies of the “weakest” links of the eurozone of the new economically third world, is unleashed by the big international (and not only) capital.

The structural changes and austerity measures that are imposed by the mechanisms of support onto the “ill” economies, so that they achieve their “cleansing”, have as a target and result the change of the world economic governing, with terms even more favourable for the bosses.
For the bosses that are outside but also inside the national borders. For the bosses that express the big and small capital. As in the case of Greece, the economy of a country that is included in the mechanism of support and applies austerity measures, has as result the depreciation of labour and its labour potential. And this happens in the big also the small enterprises. In the enterprises with foreign, but also in those with local interests.
The privatisations and the sell out of public fortune and beneficial enterprises to the public, which never really belonged to the greek people and never were never exploitable from them, it is not accidental that it does not depend on their selling out, neither is it determined according to the terms of the memorandum, by the reduction of the deficit of the economy and the prices of the percentages of the GDP, as it could in some way be considered reasonable, but from whether it could payoff the loans it has received, the moment the Greek state is sinking continuously more and more in the mechanisms of worldwide loansharking (International Monetary Fund, European Central Bank).

The otherwise awkward economic position to which the country has devolved to, is not so awkward for the private capital, but a investment opportunity so big, that it is hard for someone to believe that the handling of the government against the mechanisms of support and the unconditional acceptance of the memorandum, is accidental. On the contrary it has been confirmed that the domestic bosses profit by the same economic situations with the international ones and their interests -at least economically- are common.

The biggest part of society, maybe doesn't perceive the economic crisis with the terms of the world market, the role of the stock exchanges, the frauds and the relation of euro and dollar, however it clearly perceives the “crisis” of the greek debt, that became a crisis of borrowing, which is translated into a memorandum, that means cuts on wages, pensions, and benefits.

The attack on the labour and welfare rights, the reduction of public spending and benefits, the increase of taxes, unemployment and generally biotic, in connection with the existential poverty, is immediately perceptible and very rapidly galloping.

However the anti-memorandum paroxysm of the media that is so important for the maintenance of social “peace” from the side of sovereignty of the system, as much as an anaesthetist in a critical operation, it cannot cleanse the corrupted operation of the state before the memorandum and the integration of the country to the mechanism of monitoring (structured bonds, empty insurance funds, “black holes”, economic scandals, payoffs etc.) and mainly it cannot render the greek society free, while its biggest part, is under a hostage regime, not since the arrival of the troika, but from long before, since the greek state existed and from the national bosses first of all.

The austerity measures and the orders of the memorandum that are imposed, cancel in practice the constitution itself. This has as result the obliteration of every false conviction for the social character of state, a thing that creates inevitably the prospect of a mass reflective social revolt.
Spontaneous, reflective, without ideological-political characteristics in its majority, however a revolt. For those that fight for the assault and destruction of the state and its structures, is a challenge. One more front for the disturbance of its orderly operation. The unprecedented abstention from the last municipal elections, taking into consideration the polls in which doubt dominates and “no one”, the mass strikes and mobilizations with violent and aggressive characteristics, the lynching of various political people of every party mechanism in the streets, are simply a sample of the mood of whats to follow.

For those that take in practice the side of the multiform struggle for revolution and the creation of a prospect for it. For those that fight the sovereignty of the state and the bosses, but also the submission that this presupposes for its existence. For those that fight eternally, beyond periods, seasons and economic situations, against the power and its representatives, whatever side of the social field its expressed by and reproduced, whether its from the side of the powerful, or from the side of the weak through the consent, every crisis cannot be anything other than another reason, another occasion for struggle, against big and small capital, against the powerful euro but also the underestimated drachma, against the foreign but also domestic bosses, the hostage situation of the exterior mechanisms but also internal mechanisms of exploitation.

FIGHT AGAINST THE STATE AND THE CAPITAL FOR THE REVOLUTION AND FREEDOM AND SOCIAL AUTONOMY.

From10/12/10, I am another hostage of the democratic regime and am kept in one of its cells in the correctional shops, of marginalisation, of isolation and vengeance of the state. Where the food is not always enough, but heroin is in excess. Where psychotropic substances are more than what is in the warehouses of hospitals. Where the disciplinary sentences are in the daily provision and heating is a luxury. Where the presence of rodents, bugs and cockroaches is frequent, contrary to that of sanitary. Where in cells that their specifications are for 2 individuals, theres 4 beds and they make 6-7 people sleep, where the correctional code and the rights of the prisoners, are broken constantly and blatantly, but the hi-tech systems of safety and monitoring, work perfectly and the doors of the cells always close on time.

The minister of justice, the public prosecutors and the juridical servants should know, that where that where they throw people like the waste of society, exists dignity and solidarity and these neither can be judged or be jailed.

THE STRUGGLE CONTINUES

Targeting as evidence – On the arrest on anarchist Christos Politis
On Saturday December 4, around 16:00 and while we were sitting with the comrade and friend Christos Politis in a cafeteria in a central area of Exarchia, we became witnesses of a Hollywood-esque police mission. We would soon find out the hard way we were to become co-stars.
While we were uneasily observing the 20-30 policemen standing close to us and looking at the opposite direction, we decided to leave. To my surprise I saw them moving towards Christos and when I got closer to see what’s going on, they moved towards me too. They forced us to the wall, and they gave no answers to our questions on what’s going on. Amidst protestation from people working in or visiting the area, they lead us cuffed behind our back to Akademias street. There, they put us in a police car and with the company of a noisy convoy of motorbikes and cars they lead us to GADA (Athens Police Headquarters). On the way, a policeman on a motorbike approached the window of the car we were in and, calling us with our last names, he told us we were going to pay for a lot…
Once we were there (GADA) they lead us to the 12th floor and, following orders of someone they called “chief” they lead us to a room and immediately separated us from each other. I was put in an adjacent room cuffed behind my back, facing the wall, with three hooded men guarding me. In my repeating questions on why was I there, why was I cuffed and if was accused of anything, the only answers I got were “you will see” and “when you’ll be accused of something you’ll be the first to know”. They searched me top to toe for the umpteenth time, they thoroughly noted everything I had on me, subsequently put it in nylon bags and took it away.
Time was passing by and while I was still getting no answers, at a certain point towards nighttime I heard from a nearby area a newscast talking about arrests (men-women), guns, explosives, terrorist lairs and so on. The scenario that had been already constructed hours before our adduction, was now taking shape.
Later, while I was still tied up facing a wall and deprived of any communication or eye-contact with anyone, I demanded a chair to at least sit, which they gave me. Some hours later, I heard from outside the room some people saying “let’s see him now”. The door opened, the hooded guards turned me to face it and left. Their place was taken by others who tried to interrogate me. In their typical questions, and in their prompt to make a conversation that “might help me in my present state”, and in their asking me to provide “explanations to ease my situation”, the only answer I gave was that I wanted to know if I was accused of something and talk to my lawyer or otherwise, to be let go. After insisting for a while they commented “he is not cooperating” to each other and left the room. Their place was then taken by a hooded man and a more “pleasant” guy, who suggested I didn’t turn back to the wall and to chat for a bit instead. I gave him the same answer and I turned to the wall myself. Some hours later I heard some voices saying “he is going”. They got in, untied me and said “take your stuff, you’re leaving”. While I was gathering my stuff I repeatedly asked about Christos, for whom they told me he is being held.
Despite my 16-hours discomfort, the real discomfort began once I left GADA. While the lawyer couldn’t find out if Christos was accused of anything, I began to discover the attack of the media against me during my retention. I learned that I’m extremely “violent”, “blood-thirsty”, “ruthless” and more, according to the media. When I got home I found out that not only a search had been carried out with no witnesses apart from policemen, but also the lock had been changed. Still trying to realize what’s happening, what’s missing from my apartment and what I can do, I learn (from the media again) that my comrade Christos Politis is being charged (with non-existent evidence apparently) as a member of an armed organization, the name and actions of which were not specified. The following day in the court where the arrested of Saturday were being tried, there was a solidarity gathering. There I was informed by lawyers on the confiscation account on my apartment, which included the following “unspeakable” elements: old photographs, books, a knife inside a black holster with the inscription “Crete”, my computers, as well as a wisp of hair, which I suppose testifies to the fact that I cut my hair myself, and not the desire of the anti-terrorist sector (ATS) to have my DNA spare for any use. After I left the area of the courts, cops were waiting for me by my motorcycle. They stopped me and searched me and to my question “What now?” they told me the officer had something to tell me. After a couple of minutes, while comrades were gathering around me, they let me go. In the following two days, Christos is summarily remanded in custody, making evident that no evidence is needed, apart from the profile that the ATS concoct and leak through their cooperators, the journalists.
So the more non-existent the evidence, the more shameless the media mendacity that followed. Just like a cesspool exploding, unsigned publications emerged, which present me as a definite member of organizations and “temporarily free”, my house as a terrorist lair, and the ATS at fault for still leaving me wander free. Many comrades are photographed as members of one or another “organization”, completely unsubstantially, arrest warrants are being advertised on newscasts and so, what was already commonplace is being proven yet once more: that blood-thirsty, ruthless, cannibals and henchmen of the mechanisms of the system are the journalists and co., who reproduce this mud.
In a period of political, social and financial crisis, when the certainties provided by the system have collapsed and everything seems possible, the state, by personifying the internal enemy, by intensifying the suppression against the movement, diffuses it into all social levels. Where in the recent past in lack of evidence the state penalized personal relationships and friendships has now begun creating them in order to penalize them.
And if the state has decided to annihilate its political enemies by fabricating culprits and suspects, the journalists have undertaken the dirty work of slander and social isolation of those who are targeted.
As of my person, I declare that I am an anarchist and the only “organization” in which I actively participate for years is the one of the social fights which promote friendly relationships, solidarity with the oppressed and the fighters, the self-organizing, the horizontal structures, the clashes for the overthrow of the state and the capital, to the freedom of all of us.

Letter of the 2 imprisoned in Avlona prisons for the Nadir case in saloniki greece

On saturday 4th of December with the upcoming demonstration that would take place for the two years since the death of Alexandros Grigoropoulos, the anarchist squat NADIR is raided and evicted by the cops who arrested all individuals found inside the building. At the same time our own cinematographic arrest also takes place where one of the three of us gets punched by an undercover cop, afterwards we were led to GADTH (thessaloniki police headquarters) where 9 hours later, one was let free while to us is announced a heavy serie of charges, that is based on the testimony of a cop that claims that he recognized us transporting the stolen items.
Since then, we are detained in Avlona prisons. We consider this action as an attack of power that has as a target the intimidation and the split of comrades making a show of force, showing its teeth to any threat that could dispute him. In this case the long expected december with an epicentre the programmed demonstrations on the 6th of the month. Also a decisive role in this attack was played by the always willing Media that aim to divert, to manipulate and to disorientate the common opinion exploiting their state and technocratic possibility. In this case not only they try to connect us with the robberies in the A.U.T. (aristotitle university of thessaloniki) but also with the arrest of the persecuted comrades in Athens.
Having taken a specific position, in the social war between the insurgents and power, our thoughts and actions are not going to stop even behind the walls of prisons as political enemies of the regime in captivity. We always knew that we might be accused and be jailed for our ideas as many other comrades before us for the struggle that we are devoted to and consciously selected.

Responsibility claim for mass atm sabotage in Thessaloniki greece 7 december

The banks as pillars of capitalism create - the known and now evident- economic inequalities and construct the post-industrial capitalism, where the speed and the omnipotence of trade lead society to a complete mechanization and automatism.
On the other hand society insists to move in these predetermined ways, completely determined by the intellectual images and meanings of capitalism. What if it understands that the banks and capital cannot be maintained and exist without the callous exploitation and the more general degeneration of life, in the middle of this nodal period of evolution of capitalism, the average citizen not only is immobilized, but absorbing the dominating mentality leads to situations of social cannibalism. Instead of realising and striking the root of the problem, he repels it in midst his delirium of fear, and he defuses it either competitively to his fellow man repeating daily the dogma of capitalism " your death, is my life", or autistically to all sorts of outcasts (from immigrants that "take our jobs", to young people that sit with their feet on the seats of the bus etc).
On Friday afternoon wanting to bother the predetermined time-space journeys that the average citizen and the relation of dependence that it has with the monstrosities they call banks, we sabotaged 34 ATMs in the centre, Toumba, Triandria and Kalamaria areas.
This action happened also as a minimum of solidarity to the social robber G.Dimitrakis and we call all those that have realised the above conditions to participate multiformative, immediately in the game of deconstruction of the existing.

WE SHOULD ALL BE THERE TO BREAK THE CLIMATE OF TERROR THEY ARE TRYING TO IMPOSE ON THE TRIAL

FREEDOM TO GIANNIS DIMITRAKIS

Information about the 6 arrested alleged "terrorists"

On tuesday 7th of december the first 2 of the 6 arrested allegedly part of a “terrorist organization” were imprisoned.
Alexandros Mitrousias was sent to Patras prisons and Kostas Sakkas to the prisons of Navplio.
THE WEAPONS FOUND IN AGRINIO WERE ALSO FOUND "CLEAN" AFTER THE EXTENSIVE BALISTICS EXAMINATION.
As it appears the efforts of the anti-terrorist police to connect the guns, that were found in the possession of A.Mitrousias. and K.Sakkas, and those that were found in the house in Agrinio, with terrorist attacks and specifically with actions of the Sect of Revoutionaries were fruitless. Specifically, the balistic examination showed that the guns that were found in a"safehouse" on the corner of Daskalopoulou and Praidou street have not been used in any terrorist action.

Information about the arrested in the Nadir squat (steki) in Thessaloniki

On thursday the 9th of december the last 5 of the 11 arrested after the police raid on the Nadir squat in the students accommodations in thessaloniki on saturday the 4th.
3 were released with conditions until the court and the 2 under aged were imprisoned!! the two brothers are accused of participating in the attack in the university. The third person is a young bulgarian which they are conserned he might flee the country because he has “does not have a proof of a steady adress.
We remind that out of the 6 that went to the prosecutor on wednesday the 8th, 1 was imprisoned, so the total of the imprisoned from the arrested of Nadir goes up to 3.

THE OTHER FOUR OF THE ARRESTED ALLEGEDELY PART OF A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION ARE IMPRISONED FACING 4 FELONIES AND 2 DELINQUENCIES BASED ON THE ANTI-TERRORIST LAWS

The imprisoned are Stella Antoniou, Dimitris Michail, Christos Politis and Giorgos Karagiannidis who after the completion of their pleas with the agreement of the interrogator and the public prosecutor are confronted with charges that concern the “offences” of constitution and integration in a “terrorist organisation”, “terrorist organisation”, “terrorist actions”, “possession and manufacturing of explosives” and “distinguished case of gun possesion”.

All that remains is to see what attitude the alleged terrorists will keep.

Update on the arrests athens in greece 5/12

Big turnaround by the balistic reports – The guns are not connected with terrorist attacks
The first balistic reports are completed on the guns in the safehouses
They have not been used in terrorist attacks. Were not used in attacks of urban guerilla war, that were found in Nea Smirni and in Piraeus, according to the until now results of the balistic examinations, in the laboratories of the criminological service. Meanwhile the Police continues to interrogate the nine individuals that, according to the statements and the leaks of the antiterrorist police but also the ministry of Protection of the Citizen, are alleged to be connected with the activities of armed organisation “Sect of Revolutionaries”.

NOTHING HAS FINISHED!
EVERYTHING CONTINUES!! SOLIDARITY IS OUR WEAPON!!

LETTER FROM THE LAWYER OF ONE OF THE ARRESTED
What certainty until now has been dislocated is the procedurally right of the detainees and their possibility of communication with relatives and lawyers. The absolute prohibition of elementary rights while its been almost 24 hours since their arrest as well as the refusal to confirm the names of the arrested touches the limits of snatching. The scorn is completed with the usual method of selected leaks and the communication manipulation of common opinion.
And if these happen with the cover of the district attorney's office is confirmed the coincidence of repression mechanisms not in protection, but in the catalysis of the legal and constitutional order.
One day before the completion of two years since the murder of Alexis Grigoropoulos and while the entire society finds itself in unrest and prepares for mobilisations the guilty state has an obvious need to redeem itslelf, to present successes and especially to legalise the autarchy that it prepares for tomorrow's anniversary.
No tolerance! No political and communication expediency above rights and freedoms!

Houses now raided throughout Athens

Various mainstream media report that police raid numerous houses throughout Athens and that weaponry has been found. Arrests have been made in different parts of the city. Updates once it is possible to make out what is going on.

Cops raid Nadir in Thessaloniki

Only hours ago the antiterrorist unit raided the antiauthoritarian haunt Nadir in the student dorms in Thessaloniki. The area was cordonned off and several items were confiscated. Riot police stayed back to face those who gathered in solidarity, after the antiterrorist unit had fled the scene. The asylum law that protects universities from police invasion doesn’t apply to the dorms officialy, however they were traditionally considered and treated as part of the university. 8 people were caught and eye witnesses report that some were literally dragged into Nadir in order to “explain” their arrest. 150 have gathered in solidarity outside while 4 riot police squads remain on-site.
