Germany: Suicide of a refugee........

That all and many more, what is not yet documented is the story behind that "again such a weirdo thrown himself in
front of a train".
A man from Nepal, who lived for 15 years as a "tolerated" refugee in Germany, received a notice by the immigration office in Gifhorn about his upcoming deportation. The man could not stand that anymore and committed suicide.

At Tuesday, March 1st, the train ride between the train stations Hannover and Wolfsburg was delayed for many passengers. Not few of them may have been angry that again "such a weidro thrown himself in front of a train". Till this day the fewest of the passengers will know, with what a fate they have been involuntarily confronted:

A refugee, who lived in misery and who was faced with a future of even harder misery, took his life. Although the residents from the refugee's camp in Meinersen since longer warned the authorities that the man was at his limits and that he was ready for the most extreme measures. Yet the immigrants office in Gifhorn is not interested in what refugees are saying.

Because the situation in the camp are unbearable. In various open letters the refugees pointed to the desperate situation in the isolated camp and by the past year organised various protest actions. The refugees in Meinersen reject to submit any longer to the state-mandated racism and have self-organised themselves. They want to live - and that in human dignity.

After a meeting at February 12th with local people in solidarity to them, the group Karawane Hamburg, the anti-racist assembly from Hannover and Lower Saxony's refugee council, the refugees from the camp recently wrote the following:

1. Still families with children are brought into the camp - a Romanies family with babies was brought and soon after was deported.

2. There is no privacy, 4-6 people share one room. The caretaker and the camp's chief control our presence and report to the immigrant office, which continuously stresses us. 75 people share a restroom each with one for men and one for women. At February 12th two of three urinals were not working. There is one shower room for women, one for  men, one kitchenette at the 1st floor and one at the ground floor. We have no access to the washhouse. The caretaker and the camp's chief wash the refugees' private laundry, an examplary brick of the humiliating and disabling camp  system in the county of Gifhorn. The halls are narrow and the walls made of plaster board. There is not one single common room, not one playroom, schoolwork room or a common room for adults.

"In the morning I wake up and urgently need to go to toilet. The caretaker just cleans the restroom. He doesn't let me in the room. My belly aches, there is no second restroom. I demand it. He tells me, 'you asshole' and 'you will be deported anyway'."

3. Many of us are living about six, eight or 10 years under those conditions in the camp. That is frozen life time. Nothing is allowed. It is not allowed to leave the county. Requests for permission get rejected. Requests for working permissions, even if an employers offer jobs, are refused. Education for the youth ends with the GCSEs without further possibilities. You get € 0-40 cash a month and each person are given a food coupon for € 125 or 112. Gifhorn is 15 km far away.

"Often we have to go to Gifhorn, not only to deal with the authorities or for doctor's visits. We have no tickets and no money. We are told, walk or it's your problem. Some of us have to go over a longer period, for several months, sometimes every third day for an interview in order to extend the exceptional leave to remain. In fact it's an interrogation, we aren't allowed to bring a witness, though it's our right. Everyone wonders, when will I break to pieces or explode."

4. There are numerous harassment and different special treatments through the immigrant offices often also in co-operation with the welfare office. To mention them all would go beyond the scope of the letter. Generally all requests are handled with delay, always new explanatory statements are demanded from the petitioner and finally or afterward the requests are refused. The threat of deportation is mentioned over and over - especially for those, who protest and make it public. During the past demonstrations refugees got threaten by the immigrant authorities with cuts of the benefits and cash.

"The immigrant authorities causes a lot of trouble and later they don't allow us to visit a doctor to make a therapy. Do you see what I mean? Soon we ALL will end like the one, who completely lost it. Also he had a lot of stress with the immigrant authorities and wasn't allowed to make a therapy, therefore he lost it. Exactly the same the chief of the immigrant authorities, Mr Renders, wants to do with us. He wants that we also completely lose it and once end up in psychiatry or in prison."

We cannot leave unanswered the trivialized and relativistic statements by representatives from SPD, as they emerged after the visit in publicity.

Everyone may imagine for him/herself and his/her family a life under the above mentioned conditions.

We the refugees in the county Meinersen already experienced hard blows. We fled from our homeland, to seek for protection in Germany. In the county of Gifhorn we are defamed as cheater. We shall organize our deportation on our own. We  are from Northern Caucasus, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Syria, Palestine, China, Armenia, Africa... We experienced persecution and fled to Germany, which itself argues for human rights. We are living here since many years now, and in our home countries the situation often strongly worsened. We experience how business is made with our deportation, by sending delegations that organize passports from the countries of our origin. Examples that became public are Guinea and currently Armenia, where Lower Saxony is strongly engaged. Also falsified information in order to receive papers became public, but we are attacked to be cheater. For example there exists the German deportation treaties with Syria. Again and again the deported refugees got arrested and abused there. Of course we fear deportation. Nevertheless, we insist on our right. We demand an assured residence in Germany!

Enough scope exists to abolish the destructive camp system in the county of Gifhorn, it only lacks of political will. In the meanwhile there are numerous of examples in Germany, where the camp detention was lifted. The camp in Meinersen is not a home for people and must be closed."

At February 12th the assembly in Meinersen decided to held a protest in Gifhorn at March 24th 2011 in the scope of the nationwide decentralized 'Action day against camp isolation & racist special laws'.

Additionally the camp in Meinersen and the county of Gifhorn will play a special role in the future. Lower Saxony's Interior and Deportation Minister, Mr Schuenemann plans to close the camp in Blankenburg at Oldenburg. Since the refugees there for years struggle for the closure of the camp, it first sounds good. But for many of them that could mean the tranfer to other camps. Contrary to Mr Schuenemann's ideas to maximum exclude and isolate the refugees are the refugees' protests in Blankenburg and the solidarity they experience there, which lead to an announcement from the city council in Oldenburg. In contrast the county of Gifhorn offers an ideal place: there is a broad racist consencus.

That all and many more, what is not yet documented is the story behind that "again such a weirdo thrown himself in front of a train".

Break the racist consensus!
Close ALL camps!
Abolish racist special laws!

„Scherbendemo“ - 30 shops got attacked-Berlin the 4th of february 2011

from: https://directactionde.ucrony.net/en/node/998

Berlin the 4th of february 2011
„Scherbendemo“ is a german expression of the autonomous scene for a demo thats only aim is to unleash the anger by destroying property (mostly windows). This demos happened the last time in the 90s.
_________________________________________________________________

Again there have been left-extreme riots in Berlin in the night from friday to saturday because of the eviction of the house project Liebig 14. In the closer area of Hackescher Markt the windows of fashion stores got destroyed.

The reason is the eviction of the house on Liebigstraße 14 last wednesday. On friday evening around 9pm about 200 sympathisers gathered at Revaler Straße in Friedrichshain. The manifestation was anounced in the internet.
Police says that they checked several persons and found masks and even knifes. That they found knifes is doubted by the autonomous scene.
The police finished the gathering, which hasnt been registerd, at 9:30pm and people were sent away. The left protesters spreaded in small groups in different directions.

Nearly at the same time around 50 masked people marched down Alte Schönhauser Straße, Weinmeisterstraße to Rochstraße in the district of Mitte. They smashed the windows from nearly 30 stores and demaged cars. Before the cops arrived the group escaped. The secret police investigates.

More protests are expected on saturday night- the residents of the house on Liebigstraße 14 called out to make the evictions as expensive as possible. Already on wednesday riots broke out in Friedrichshain.
Even 3 days after the eviction of the house, which is known outside of Berlin aswell, Autonome showed their solidarity in Hamburg and Kopenhagen. In both cities leftradicals were fighting against the police on saturday night. Traditionally there is a big autonomous scene in both cities, leftradicals from northern germany and denmark participate regularly at protests in Berlin. In the district of St.Pauli and Altona stones and bottles got thrown at the cops. In front of the city council the cops used pepperspray and sticks to drift the protesters apart.

Riot 2nd February - Berlin?

The police in the german capital Berlin is expecting heavy riots around february 2. The police will evict one of the last squats in Berlin: Liebig 14.
Officials and newspaper say that this may cause heavy riots.
EVICTION DATE SET FOR LIEBIG 14
Today 10.01.2011 the house project in Liebigstraße 14, Berlin-Friedrichshain
received a written eviction notice for all apartments. It will be enforced the 2nd of February at 8:00 AM.

The lost legal processes and the failure of politics!
The eviction notice for our house project is the outcome of an almost 4 year-long legal struggle over the termination all apartments contracts, a struggle between the inhabitants of the houseproject and the owner Suitbert Beulker (also owner of the houseproject in Rigaerstr. 94) and Edwin Thöne, manager of the child protection association Unna. The pleaded ground for the terminations was the display of banners and Beulker taking offence with the construction of a door in the stairway. (For those interested in juridical farce: http://de.indymedia.org/2008/10/228470.shtml [German])
The attempted negotiations with regional and senate politicians to find a legal solution for the continuation of our house project or to buy the house with the help of a foundation have failed. Firstly politicians claimed to be unable to have influence over our situation. Secondly, responsible senate politicians have been conspicuous by their absence. For example our beloved interior senator Erhard Körting and the senator for city development, Ingeborg Junge-Reyer who for years have been pushing an agressive neo-liberal housing policy, and who, for example, abolished rent benefits for people on unemployment benefits (Hartz IV). Also Holger Lippmann, manager of Liegenschaftsfonds (the Berlin real estate holding company), refused up to the end to negotiate honestly for an alternative space for the project. Accompanying all this were a series of successfull actions, from colorful to black, loud to clandestine.
The houses in which they live!
We are not the only ones threatened by forced relocation, evictions and the whole property valorisation-scandal. Besides the struggle of the few remaining self-governing free spaces (for example Rigaer 94, Köpi around the corner, there are also the squatters struggles in Amsterdam, London and everywere else). More and more people in Berlin are hit by increasing rents and lose their apartments and social
environments. To them we giver our full solidarity and support!
We ask for international solidarity. Come to Berlin around 2nd of february and join us in demonstrations, riots, partys or hit and run! You will find sleepingplaces in other projects and a lot of stones in the street.
If the eviction can not be prevented, this will not be a defeat. It is important for all squats in Europe to demonstrate that an eviction will cause a lot of trouble and that it is expansive for every city to declare war to our movement.
There will come more informations on this site:  http://liebig14.blogsport.de/

Dannenberg, Germany - 3,000 protesters block tracks disrupting a shipment of Castor containers of nuclear waste

"A shipment of nuclear waste from France reached a storage facility in northwestern Germany on Tuesday, after police worked through the night to clear a road blockade by more-than 3,000 protesters.
For nearly four days, anti-nuclear protesters rappelled from bridges, undermined roads, and formed human shields across the shipment's route, in an attempt to slow it down.
The protesters were galvanized after German Chancellor Angela Merkel's government voted to extend the life of the country's 17 atomic power plants by an average of 12 years."

Arson attack on info shop

Neo-Nazis are suspected to be behind an arson attack on Berlin's oldest info shop. On the same night fascist graffiti was sprayed on several left wing projects in the same area.

Arson Attack on M99 Infoshop in Berlin

At around 3 am on Tuesday morning (27.10.10) an arson attack was carried out on Berlin's oldest remaining infoshop, M99 in the Kreuzberg district of Berlin. The arsonists were able to escape, despite being seen by several witnesses. A fireman at the scene commented that if neighbours had not already begun to try to extinguish the flames, or if fire services had arrived a minute later, the whole residential building would have burned down.

Luckily no one was injured, but at least one flat above the shop will be uninhabitable for some time. It is hoped that the shop will be able to open provisorily.

Fascists are suspected of the arson, as several other left-wing projects nearby were daubed with neo-Nazi graffiti on the same night, including the Red Stuff shop just around the corner.
This was not the last piece of bad news for the shop. Building inspectors will be visiting today and as the new owners of the building (Berlin Property GmbH) and the property managers (David) want to get the shop out, they will be hoping this will provide them with the opportuity. Both have a history of semi-legal evictions of tennents in order to sell off the apartments.
And yesterday the shop was raided by the police for the 52nd time.

Cars torched in Hamburg

Friday, 10 September 2010

HAMBURG has been hit by a spate of arson attacks on cars, spreading a form of insurrection that has been flourishing in Berlin.

The Direct Action in Germany site reports that hardly a night goes by in the north German city without cars being burnt.

After 13 were torched in the early hours of Thursday morning, another five were destroyed the next night in Marienthaler Straße in the Hamm district.

Police have said that four were set alight and the fifth caught fire in the resulting blaze.

The attacks have received mainstream media attention, in the likes of Stern, Welt and the local Hamburger Abendblatt.

It is estimated that some 120 cars have been torched in Hamburg this year.

Hamburg street festival ends in rioting - again

Photo: DPA

The peaceful and friendly festival lasted all afternoon, with stands and music filling the streets of the Schanzenviertel area, only overshadowed by the expectation of a descent into rioting.

The atmosphere remained relaxed until darkness at around 8 pm, when the huge police presence, complete with water cannon, became obvious around the access roads into the area around the squatted building known as Rote Flora.

Critics say that such a show of force – with officers drawn from around the country – acts as a provocative challenge to potential rioters.

But Christoph Alhaus, Hamburg’s new mayor and former interior minister with responsibility for such decisions, along with his successor in that office, Heino Vahldieck, said the police would act decisively against any sign of riot.

By 9:30 pm the area around the Rota Flora was tense and the streets were empty of anyone other than people holding beer bottles – and the police.

This year the pubs and restaurants in the immediate area were not only closed but largely barricaded.

But it seems the mood has changed – particularly after rioters this May smashed up local shops rather than the banks and drug stores. Some closed up bars bore signs saying, "Closed against violence."

Some locals were even seen actively trying to prevent the rioting – throwing buckets of water on burning piles of rubbish and pulling apart barricades.

But by 11 pm the erection of a barricade on one street attracted the attention of the police, who were then showered with stones, bottles and some fireworks.

They retaliated with baton charges and water cannons for around two hours, eventually taking control of the streets around Rota Flora and pushing the rioters out of the area.

Several arrests were made, with numbers not yet clear, while at least one police officer and a number of anarchists were injured.

Rioters Clash With Cops After Street Festival

Around 300 left-wing protesters have clashed with police in Hamburg after an all-night street festival in the central Schanze neighbourhood.

Riot police run past smoke bombs during clashes after Hamburg street festival

The violence erupted when youths threw rocks and bottles at police and set light to barricades.
Officers responded by turning water canon on the crowds.
Similar riots broke out during last year's street festival when left-wing activists protested against a far-right rally.
Anticipating a repeat of the violent scenes, police had deployed about 2,000 officers in the area.

Protesters threw rocks and bottles at police
But some of the rioters still managed to cause damage to a bank branch and smash the windows of a supermarket.
According to local media reports, several rioters were arrested and two policemen were lightly wounded.
Before the clashes broke out, residents in the neighbourhood had tried to stop the protesters from throwing bottles and rocks.
The annual street party attracts large crowds with its music and food stalls in the central district of the German city and frequently sees clashes between protesters and police.

Luxury cars aflame in Germany

HUNDREDS of luxury cars are still being torched every year in Germany as part of a radical uprising against the capitalist system.

The latest reported incident saw an upmarket vehicle in Prenzlauer Berg set on fire on Wednesday this week, reports directactionde.ucrony.net

There is a website calling 'burning cars' (Brennende Autos) which plots arson attacks on a Google-powered map.

The featured area is centred around Berlin, but there are so many incident flags on the map that the city is obscured, apparently overwhelmed by the rampaing fires.

Anarchist houseproject in flensburg (ger) raided by police

On Wednesday July 28th, , 5 Police Officers of K5 (criminal investigation department – political Police) accomplished a house search at 'black mosquito – anarchist mailorder' in “Senffabrik” (house project) in order to find stickers which allegedly “call for incendiarism”. The degree of penalty for this is at least 1 year jail sentence. The sticker shows a stylized police car with a stylized flame and the headline: “burn a car!” - police found 18 copys.
Into the bargain, 2 hours later a court case took place against the same person which is indicted to distribute these stickers.
The trial was about a house-party 1,5 years ago, where 5 people have been arrested and bashed by the police – they where indicted for “resistance against authority” and “insult”.
The hearing was dropped for a payment of 360 € each.
The house search was not just a heavy affront against one of the accused – it was also a further provocation against the project “Senffabrik”, and in addition a starkly attack against the anarchist mailorder “black mosquito”.
We call on every insurrectionists to react adequately to these attacks!
We won't let us getting down from this big fuck-up!

New video of Berlin protest bomb

13 June 2010

A NEW video of this weekend's Berlin protest bomb has appeared on YouTube.

It shows the incident much closer and from the other side.

Protest bomb injures Berlin cops

A BOMB has injured a number of police after they repeatedly charged into an anti-austerity demonstration in Berlin.

Reports Earth Times: "An attack which wounded two riot police officers during an anti-government demonstration in Berlin employed a homemade bomb stuffed with shrapnel, German police said on Sunday.

"The blast seriously wounded the two and caused minor injuries to 13 other police at the leftist rally Saturday against Chancellor Angela Merkel's austerity and welfare-cutting plans.

"It had not been disclosed on Saturday that a bomb was involved. A police spokesman said the device had apparently been packed with nails or broken glass or something similar.

"The wounded police were in improving condition, the spokesman said.Three demonstrators were arrested on suspicion of throwing the bomb, but were freed on bail during the night. Organizers claimed 20,000 people attended the anti-capitalist rally."

Reported a post on UK Indymedia: "The Greek protest wave has finally hit Germany. Scuffles broke out this Saturday in two major German cities after riot police attacked protest marchers.

"50.000 angry trade unionists, leftists and anarchists had taken to the streets against chancellor Merkel's social cuts package. The cuts are being touted as Germany's biggest austerity drive since World War Two.

"In order to stem the crisis in the EU and save the single currency Merkel's government wants to cut 30 billion euros ($36.11 billion) over the next four years in welfare, mainly from unemployment benefits, and axe thousands of federal government jobs.

"In Berlin riot police repeatedly charged into the protest march, and in Stuttgart a party leader of the socialdemcratic SPD had to be saved by police from angry protesters. As he tried to deliver a speech at the rally hundreds of marchers shouted the politician dówn and pelted him with bottles, sticks, eggs and bananas.

"The two rallies on Saturday are to be followed by a serious of protests in smaller towns in the next weeks, and a European day of action is to follow soon."

This year more than 400 people took part in the protest that interacted with the prisoners inside through shouting mutual slogans and fireworks. FIRE TO ALL PRISONS

A society that punishes/the condition of incarceration/the prison of the mind/the prison as punishment/the rage of the damned will sound on the ruins of prisons/those denying obedience and misery of our era even within its hellholes/will dance together on the ruins of every last prison/with the flame of rebellion avenging whatever creates prisons.

To the prisoners struggle already counting one dead and thousands in hunger strike across greece, we stand in solidarity and anger until the destruction of every last prison.
