Anarchists set off smoke bomb in cop bar--Portland, OR

Tags:Action

In the predawn hours of December, 6th 2010, to mark the two year anniversary of the murder of Alexandros Grigoropoulos in Exarchia, a smoke bomb was ignited inside the Portland Metro Police Club (618 SE Alder st.)--a private bar, ballrooom, and athletic facility operated by the Portland Police Association. We did this to articulate our utter contempt towards the police, and our hatred of the state and capitalism in general.

This act of sabotage was a gesture of revolutionary solidarity with the imprisoned anarchists of the Conspiracy Cells of Fire in Greece, The Asheville 11, Christos Stratigopolous, the recently released Alfredo Bonanno and all those resisting state repression everywhere.

Fire to the cops, bosses, and politicians!

For anarchy and communism!

ALL OF US SHOULD BE THERE

Today their was a gathering with a sound system at Propilea (deanships building) FOTOS.

Alfredo M. Bonnano Released (Greece)

In the 22 November trial of Alfredo and Christos for bank robbery in Trikala, Alfredo M. Bonnano was sentenced to 4 years imprisonment (which practically means that with the time served so far and the fact that he is over 70 years old, he was released). Christos Stratigopoulos (who took responsibility for the action) was sentenced to 8 years and 9 months and with the Greek law will probably be released at the end 2011.

 statement by their families

Comrades,
the trial of Bonnano and Stratigopoulos in the city of Larisa resulted in Alfredo Bonanno getting convicted to 4 years of imprisonment for participation to the robbery, while Stratigopoulos was convicted for the armed robbery to 8 years and to 3 months for each of the misdemeanors without bail and without the court recognising any extenuatory circumstances.
From the first instance it became clear that the judge and attorney wanted a fast trial without any ideological characteristics and with only guide being the criminal record of the accused. In short, they wanted to prove that Alfredo Bonanno was the leader, the moral perpetrator of the robbery and that Christos was the pupil, the one who executed the plan.
Yet thanks to the solid evidence, the witnesses who testified in support of the two and the great contribution of the lawyers  (Papadakis, Kourtovik, Sineli), these claims collapsed.
It “hurt” them that Alfredo was free, that he has essentially served his sentence – and they looked for any legal or other trick in order to torture him further. And so, from the prison of Larisa he was transported to the city’s police headquarters under the pretext of the approval of his exit from the country by the headquarters in Athens,.
There they informed us that apart from the Interpol alert, they would also hold him until their political senior officers would “judge” whether he would be deported in accordance to article 106 of the presidential decree of 2007. Late in the night, after calling a Larisa-based lawyer, we were informed that Alfredo had been arrested anew in accordance to the above article, as he was considered a threat to public security and unwelcome to Greece!
Once again he had to prove the obvious! A 74-year old man with very poor health was considered dangerous. The same went for us, who were waiting outside, the very few comrades sitting at a bench: they sent Riot Police, DIAS and Zita motorcycle cops, undercovers and the anti-terrorist unit to guard us, since we posed a threat to public security!
Faced with this obvious political revanchist action, played within a strategically covered psychological warfare against Alfredo, we had to decide whether to appeal at the Larisa court, which would mean Alfredo would remain detained until the decision was made or until the Greek state would decide to officially deport him. The instant solution given by his layers was for him to be released on Tuesday afternoon and to leave on his own from Larisa to Italy through Athens in the coming days.
After everything comrades lived through from the day of their arrest up until yesterday, as well as for the rest of Christos’ days in prison, they wish and we wish to extend a huge “thank you” to all friends and comrades from Konitsa who came to our support, the friends from Giannena and across Greece as well as abroad who stood by our side, giving us courage and psychological, moral and financial support.
To the comrades we extend our hand, we unite our camaraderie in a dynamic of anarchist solidarity…
- The families of Christos and Alfredo

Responsibility claim for the arson of 10 cars of the Hellenic Telecommunications Organization

... If someone escapes in any way from the invincible monstrosity of a society that is now wild and monstrous because of cannibalistic prejudice and terrible ignorance or from the sadistic devaluation of this rotten society which believes that it has the right to judge and sentence a person because he came to an action that the above society is never in a position to understand, it ts a highly revolutionary action...”
RENZO NOVATORE

In period where the leaders achieve their democratic duties, we realise our conscious ideals. In the sewer of fony claim of rights, we keep our individualities entire and active. Denying victimization, we place ourselves in the position of the attacker, the hunter. We do not accept any reconcilliation with anyone for the improvement of conditions. Initiavely we intervene creating our inssurrectional, chaotic hearths.
In this ridiculous democratic process of voting, the substance of the existing social condition is de-crystalliazed. The masks of society are revealed. On one side slavery and subjugation and on the other authoritarian perversion and arrogance.
The voters behind the window front of claim and intervention in the public matters that are provided for them by the democracy, hide their phobias, the passivity, moderation and their mood for a comfortable life where they will never have responsibilities for what happens to them.
This way the suburban culture of subjugation is maintained and perpetuated and together with that the rottening of this world.
On the other are the representatives of dominance. These ghosts that their role is to dominate, to maintain and to shield the unsound building of capitalism.
The blabbering pricks with the folky physiognomy, that aim to move the always ductile herd with expired oratories and promises of the exchange for favours character.
From the menu of democracy ofcourse is not absent also the mouldy pseudorevolutionary ideologies about disobedience and defying the regime, the practical application of which never escapes from the frames of legality. The most detestable role of the left however is that of the democratizer. In periods of revolts it tries to “break” the destructive negativism of the revolters towards all social structures, aiming to put them in a apologetic dialogue with the state, playing the institutional role of the mediator as a valve of unsuction that was established by the system itself. For this systemic role it should constitute a target of revolutionary forces, breaking the informal immunity of the past.
Outside all this are the revolutionaries that organize in new urban guerrilla warfare. Many comrades like us selected to precede first on the attack. Early hours of Saturday 6th of November we delivered to flames 10 vehicles of the Hellenic Telecommunications Organization in a outdoor parking space on Sholiou street in the cop dominated area of Agia Paraskeui precisely behind the den of the snitches of Hellenic Radio and Tv. This action is in solidarity to the hostage urban guerillas Panagiotis Argiro and Gerasimos Tsakalos. There is not a more beautiful way of demonstrating solidarity and widening the revolutionary conscience from the continuation and the excerbation of guerrilla action.
The creation of hearths of antiathority, the continuation of the devastating fury to each aspect of the state and capitalism is for us the most ideal way of supporting the hostage comrades.

FREEDOM TO THE URBAN GUERILLAS PANAGIOTIS ARGIROU AND GERASIMOS TSAKALOS
P.S.
We send arsoning signals to the wanted comrades...

The trial of the accused for the Conspiracy Cells of Fire case has been set for the 17th of january 2011, without however it being announced where.

The charges are mainly of a felony type for the explosions in the offices of Louka Katseli (the Greek Minister for Labour and Social Security), the offices of Hinofotis (national defence general) and in the ministry of macedonia and thrace.
Let is remind here the snitching and grassing logic that the state and media impose by publishing photos of people that bassically are suspects, since they have not been yet convicted of anything. Through this logic a photo of another person which is wanted appeared was published, while in the edia, electronic or not they keep on showing phonenumbers for people to call and snitch.

New letter from Panayiotis Masouras

New letter from Panayiotis Masouras

24 10 2010  http://thisisourjob.wordpress.com/2010/10/24/new-letter-from-panayiotis-masouras/ From Presxs A La Kalle! (September/October 2010):
On August 31, the final appeal hearing for comrades Panayiotis “Takis” Masouras and Harilaos “Haris” Hatzimichelakis was held in Athens. Their lawyers’ request that our comrades be released on probation was unanimously rejected. About 50 people gathered in front of the courthouse to show solidarity. According to the lawyers’ estimates, the trial of both comrades (imprisoned since September 2009), as well as that of Konstantina Karakatsani (at large since September 2009 and arrested in April 2010), will take place in November. All three are accused of participating in the Fire Cells Conspiracy.
Silence will be a thing of the past.
Prison, as an institution of correction and conformity, aims to set straight and bring reason to the stressed social group found within.
The goal of the systemic rule of the regime’s prison policy is to subjugate each individual’s spiritual, psychological, and physical desires and capabilitiesindividuals who, in accordance with the law, are isolated and marginalized by the regime’s machinery like so many cancerous tumors awaiting therapy. In the cells of democracy, jailers who are an extension of the disciplinary mechanism devote themselves to a shameless war against human decency and dignity. The disciplinary structures of Authority want us on our knees, cut off from all social contact, and mentally stagnant. Their objective is to defuse the struggle for freedom by attempting to confine the fight against power.
The imprisoned subject experiences a long-term internal war. It is a war of disciplinary punishments (which constitute a punishment within a punishment), new sentences received while one is already inside, suspended leave, bigmouth prosecutors, the permanent degradation of human integrity itself, and miserable and inhumane prison conditions (regarding water, food, heat, overcrowding, and a lack of medical care and medicine). It doesn’t require complex deduction to realize that someone who finally leaves the regime’s crematoriums in one piece would mistake the misery on the outside for opulence.
The subject herself rejects the idea that the act of individual self-realization can bring about change. Each prisoner has to escape the one-dimensional viewpoint generated by the System’s channels of information and realize that the possibilities of restraining the jailer of her soul are infinite. She has to reflect on the possibility that the bottomless abyss of misery engulfing the human beings around her might pose the fundamental question on insurrectional terms, through the search for and discovery of the limitless potentialities within each one of us.
In the world of the powerful, in the world of global capitalism, nothing is ever given away. The duty of the capitalist elite is to propagate acceptance and fatalism, which in turn breed inertia.
The duty of prisoners is to see themselves essentially as prisoners of war, with all the responsibilities, obligations, and expectations entailed by that step toward direct confrontation with Authority.
We ourselves must be the change we want to see. Everything we’ve achieved has been claimed with blood, struggle, and armed desire.
Our plans to oppose the politics of annihilation must consist of disciplined, combative structures formed by the captives themselves. Those of us “inside” and “outside” the walls will fight Authority’s information system, which classifies us as “long-term criminals.” We will thus establish an authentic connection between the discourse and practice of struggle—the struggle of dignity against submission.
With our heads high and our necks straight, we will claim freedom.
The act of continuing to live with pride despite being “behind” bars makes the concrete walls invisible. It makes them invisible because we are transparent. It makes them invisible because we are Fighters and we dare. And when the walls are nonexistent, our strength sings the songs of victory.
“Inside” and “outside,” we’ll form a fist to break their teeth.
Long live human dignity and the passion for freedom.
Our struggle is the fertile terrain of the past, the blank pages of the present, and the promises of the future.
Fire to the prisons.
Solidarity with Captive Fighter Vangelis Pallis.
The blood each Fighter sheds is our blood too.
—Panayiotis Masouras, Avlona Special Detention Center for Minors, September 2010

  http://thisisourjob.wordpress.com/2010/10/19/new-arrests-in-greece/

Thodoris Delis
Last summer, two people from the Athens anti-authoritarian milieu were arrested on the island of Rhodes and charged with a bank robbery. One of them recently wrote a letter explaining what happened.
Comrades:
On August 16, 2010, I was arrested in Rhodes and charged with robbing an ATEbank. Because I am not limited by the perceived duality of “innocence/guilt,” and because I refused to cooperate with the authorities, the prosecutor and judge unanimously decided to imprison me. Before that, I was subjected to a number of draining interrogations by the uniformed servants of Power, both local and from Athens. The investigators were apparently under the control of the National Intelligence Service and sent specially from the Exarcheia police station to identify me and share information. They also tried, in vain, to implicate some of my personal friends and comrades in the case. They then locked me up in the Rhodes police dungeons, which is unusual. I was “visited” there by two psychologists, who examined me and put together what’s known as a “psychological profile.” Suddenly, they decided to move me to the transfer office on Petrou Ralli Street in Athens, where the people in charge refused to let me know which prison they would be taking me to. After an exhausting stay, they told me I’d be going to Alikarnassos, and it was only at the last minute that I was able to notify my family and friends about my destination. All the transfers have taken place in the manner we know all about, crushing every last bit of human dignity, while the prison was certainly not chosen by chance. It’s due to these reasons that I haven’t had time to state my position regarding the case. The judicial report still hasn’t been finalized, and they are continuing to collect evidence. Therefore, when I am able, I will write more extensively about my stance on several matters, generally and with regard to the movement.
I send comradely regards to everyone who stood by me and helped me in various ways. Additionally, I salute everyone participating in the very important initiative to create a prisoner solidarity fund, which I also took part in from the beginning.
Free everyone inside
Solidarity with all persecuted comrades

Info from demo to koridallos prisons

19th October 2010

The demo began at 19.30 roughly with about 800 people. Many undercovers in and around the surrounding small streets and two riot cop units outside of the passamondana steki.
Were gave out a lot of pamphlets of information and threw a lot of flyers in the surrounding streets.
The residents were very positive to the comrades.
The demo was very intense even if it began a little numb.
The cops followed along in the nearby small streets.
As the crowd approached the little park opposite the male prisons the pulse became more intense.
In the park slogans for the comrades in prison were shouted while fireworks were lit which
was the impressive part of the action (many fireworks!) After roughly 40 minutes the
crowd left from the park and on the way
back stood for 40 minutes in solidarity to
the prisoners in the female prisons, which
was answered with chants towards the crowd. On the way back chants
were heard about the salary slavery, solidarity and against the syndicalist leaders. Pre-election posters of the communist party were ripped and a camera was broken at a “wind” shop. In the
end there was some intensity at the pre-election kiosk of the communist party but it did not become something more.
The number of comrades that were demo today was very encouraging as well as that there were residents that joined
the demo on the way back saying they wanted participate in
actions more general (fed up generally from the situation
that
exists with unemployment, crisis and frauds e.t.c. as they said).

NO ONE ALONE IN THE HANDS OF THE STATE

Info from solidarity gathering to Giannis Skouloudis in thessaloniki.

Solidarity banner outsite of the court bilding in Bolos town of greece and sprei slogan for comrade G.SKOULOUDIS

Strong police presence with 5 riot cop vans behind the court building plus the usual cops of the court. Many cowboys of the “zita”, “delta”, and “dias” forces and a chain of cops at the steps of the courts.
Things at the gathering were calm, about 100 comrades gathered, a good atmosphere, the text about Giannis case was being read on the sound system and flyers demanding his release were thrown all over.
After that the comrades moved towards the courts. The solidarity gathering continued there while Giannis was inside. Leaving the court the comrades gathered passed by two cop cars and managed to smash one.
Giannis took responsibility for the arson but denied to say anything else. He was taken to avlona prisons the next day.
4 comrades are also wanted for the same case and have warrants out for their arrest.

Thessaloniki courts SMASHED UP

at the hearing of the arrested 19year old comrade Giannis Skouloudis

13/10

The provocative attitude of the cops did not stay unanswered today, comrades attacked the riot cop units inside the court building outside the room the comrade was being held.

The attitude of the comrades was militant. Despite the attack on the riot cops, no comrade was left behind. There were two riot cop units, one in front of us and one on the side (which was just sitting

around). After that windows were smashed inside the court on the first floor as well as cop shields. All the cops managed to do was throw one tear gas cannister which we didn't even realize.

It was answered to immediately with a fire extinguisher by a comrade.

No comrade stepped back neither feared, since all of us felt the rage inside of us for the arrested comrade.

Since the cops did not manage to do anything with the comrades they hit the mother of the accused comrade over the head.

The 19year old was arrested yesterday accused of arson of a car of the national electricity company.

The charges of the comrade are with the “anti-terrorist” law:

“Composing a criminal organization”

“Arson”, “Explosion”, charges concerning the possession, making and use of explosive devices, and “Grievous criminal damage”, and breaking the law “about weapons”.

After arresting him the “anti-terrorist” police looking for another 3 people did a show of power transforming it into an exercise, stopped people everywhere, raided comrades homes and harassed

anyone who looked “suspicious”.

No one hostage in the hands of the state.

UPDATE ON SIMOS SEISIDIS SITUATION

1/10/10
TRIAL POSTPONED
His application for release in the case of his shooting by the cop, which has turned into... attempted homicide from Simos, was denied a few days ago. The thought of the prosecutor that Simos in “saint pauls” (koridallos prisons hospital) enjoys all the necessary attention he needs (this is where we laugh...), and because of the other cases on his back, he is considered to dangerous to be released...
The judicial and police authorities denied to comply as they should have to the demand of Simos Seisidis for a human and dignified transfer to the courts today. Simos demanded his transfer to be made with a normal cop car because of his health situation, and to not helping hem any of the cops to get out from the cop car! while the authorities insisted they used a special cop van with a small metal cage inside it. The prosecutor at evelpidon court showed good intentions to allow Simos demand, but was stopped by the pereus prosecutor and the management of koridallos prisons. Around of couple of comrades anarchists for solidarity! wos there all morning to see Simos bad next time..

RESPONSIBILITY CLAIM FOR THE TAX OFFICE ARSON IN EXARCHEIA, ATHENS. (10/9/2010)

The tax office is a basic mechanism of support to the greek capital in the class war they have declared on the workers, since the bloodsucking of the economically “lacking” secures the prosperity in the economic elites that devour the social wealth.
Taxes reflect the legal version of robbery of the workers without of course any ethical inhibitions, since as the repercussions of the crisis in society intensify, the taxes on products of immediate need raise.

The confirmation that the tax office robs is not radical. It is a realism that if remains at the stage of confirming it will evolve into a unconditional acceptance of manipulation. This is why, the overcoming of the “christian ethic” and the acceptance that the struggle is in vain prerequisites the transitional passing to choices of social disobedience.

The attacks on economic targets, along with the building of a revolutionary movement that towards the ruthless policy of the capital organizes the denial of taxpaying in society, compose a multiform reality where two different practices of fighting coexist in the same struggle, since the target remains undivided: the revolutionary transformation of society through social mutiny.

Of course for the revolutionaries the conditions are always ripe for them to clash with the forces of the enemy. Thus, the groups of revolutionaries that take things into their own hands consist an immediate proposition for organizing the struggle. The theft of merchandise from luxury book shops, supermarkets, stores, the arson of state and capitalist targets, the beatings of fascists, cops, prison guards, security guards, bank robberies, are a part of the wider resistance that we are putting into act in the heart of first world manipulation.

The arson of the tax office in Exarcheia, friday 10/9, is part of the practices we call social disobedience. Its the moments that order is shaken by its deniers and the policy of fear is demythologised in the eyes of society. In this struggle we do not look for neutral cheerers but people that place their dignity higher than the fear of prison, their honour higher than the fake ethics of society, their self respect higher than the fear of unemployment.

We dedicate this action to Vaggelis Pallis that is in a coma in Trikala prisons. Whoever thinks that Vaggelis would commit suicide for a leave day denial we simply remind him that the untamed beasts are not tamed with drops of freedom.

-Solidarity to the 6 accused of being part of the organization “Revolutionary Struggle”, three of which (Nikos Maziotis, Polla Roupa, Kostas Gournas) have claimed responsibility for.

-HONOUR for EVER to anarchist fighter and member of R.S. Lambros Foundas.

SOLIDARITY AT TRIKALA PRISONS, GREECE

About 30 people gathered outside the prisons of Trikala and a march in the centre of the city was held yesterday aug 2nd in solidarity for the hunger strike initiated by prisoners about the appalling conditions of detention in prisons.

The gathering lasted one hour, many slogans were shouted and there was intense pulse. The cops didnt expect this at all, and we cought them off guard, so they were running around like crazy and the undercovers didnt know what to do.

We managed to get up to the entrance of the jail and the strength we took and gave the prisoners ment a lot for their struggle. They could here our slogans inside and sometimes they shouted back with their own slogans.
After the end of the intervention outside the prison we held a gathering and shared out leaflets for about an hour in the city centre and more specifically in Riga Ferraiou square. Then we marched through the city's main streets chanting slogans in solidarity with the hunger strikers, with our imprisoned comrades, slogans about the new robbery measures as well as several anticop and antifaschist ones. Slogans were writtten on many walls, e.g. in the town hall and the people's interest in asking and wanting to know about prison conditions in the hell holes of democracy was very hopefull.
