Graffiti @ meeting in solidarity with the prisoners

A panphlet said:

Inside and Outside the Prison: Revolt and Jailbreak

“It’s time to act, on a daily basis with our comrades, for the destruction of the prison society and any social attempts to reform this disgusting system of death. Solidarity never should be an empty slogan, but daily action of confrontation with power and unfailing support to our brothers kidnapped in this war to the death”. Mauricio Morales.

Revolutionary Solidarity with those kidnapped from the State-Capital in the Rest of The World

It’s time to strengthen bonds of solidarity with our comrades in prison, in this territory and the rest of the world. Understanding that the fight against power is a life decision, it is urgent that every gesture of attack aims at the destruction of the prisons and the society that keeps them.

Solidarity with anarchist prisoners from Turkey

To all the earth and the comrades of conscience,

On 6th of January 2010, in Ankara, the capital city of Turkey, a press release was arranged on Yuksel Street, for solidarity with consciencious objector Enver Aydemir.

The Agile Police Force, waiting in the permitted demonstration to finish, took the group into a chamber and asked everybody for their IDs. The police normally would not ask for ID in such a “constitutional” and “unsevere” and the “citizen” activist has no such obligation ask to inform the police before a press release.

And the police’s asking all the participants of the demonstration for IDs, who are against war and violence and objecting the imprisonment of a consciencious objector is for the purpose of guaranteeing arresting and following imprisonment.

Some 100 members of Agile Police Force who surrounded the activists, mostly composed of anarchists, attacked on them with all their power within a few seconds. The violence, sexual assault and indignity ongoing by the road, all went on through the custodial prison –where they stayed more than 20 hours- and courthouse The police accused the activists for resisting them and alienating the public from military obligation and assault. All the activists, after being subject to heavy physical pressure in the police station, were forced to sign the affirmations which were already prepared by the police itself. In response to this treatment, the activists preferred to use their right to silence. At the same night, as the activists were under custody, this unlawful and arbitrary treatment and the violence of the police has been protested in Ankara. And the imprisoned anti-militarists, after being imprisoned for a night, were brought to the Ankara Courthouse. And in the Courthouse, they were hugged by anti-militarists, feminists and their families with strong support. They supported them by slogans and applause, The prisoners were first brought to judicial medicine and then to the attorney for affirmation. As anarchist Volkan Sevinç transferred to the court for the demand of being arrested, 22 of the activists were released. The case was suddenly done. To Volkan, the case was not much different to an enactment. Since the hierarchy from the judge to the police officers had already made up their decisions; They had decided to arrest Volkan. The judge acceded the press explanation as an “unlawful” meeting and Volkan Sevinç with administrating that meeting and with a weapon. Besides these, they have decided that he had the chance of befogging evidence.

And as evidence they were claiming a knife though he insisted that it does not belong to him and for that he refused body search. And the law of power, who claims that he “managed” the illegal meeting, impounded Volkan into Ankara No. 1 Prison.

As Volkan being taken to the prison vehicle his comrades and supporters shouted slogans. Everybody in there shouted out that they all walk shoulder to shoulder against fascism and that salvation shall be altogether but not alone. What was that happened Volkan raised his clenched fist and greeting everybody around with the slogan of “Rebellion, Revolution, Anarchy”. As a result, Volkan Sevinç was imprisoned into the prison of the power because he rejected death and killing.

This fact tells so clearly that the power is together with death and violence but not with life; and democracy is just a dishonest lie; and it tells more clearer and better than more than hundreds of pages of a book.

And on the following day, on 8th of January 2010, Volkan’s comrades and supporters protested the situation. Written on the banners: Consciences Can’t Be Imprisoned, Freedom for Volkan Sevinç”. On the banner in Ankara’s press release there was the sign “Freedom For Anti-Militarist Prisoners”. On the other hand, another person in Istanbul expressed his consciencious objection in the same action. And again in the same action a person had a heart attack due to the assault of the police. He is under intensive care right now.

On the lands we used to live in, violence disturbs each of us all the time. The conditions are not bearable so more and forcing our souls. In this psycological and conventional war every thing becomes clearer day after day. The rulers of this country still share the power with a insincerity, which was said by the anarchists a 100 years ago.

The war, which has been started by capitalism centuries ago against the existence and souls of the Anarchists, Kurds, Homosexuals, Transgenders and Gypsies and all other individuals which contradict with the typology of the "subject citizen" created by the power itself, keeps going on with all its nastiness and tricks.

War and militarism are neither military obligation nor shooting a gun. So, against such a social structure, in such a period, the only thing that should be done is to refuse death. That is why Volkan Sevinç is in prison right now; for he rejected death and killing.

The aim of this text is to call you – for the ones of who did not give their consciences- to stand by our imprisoned comrade Volkan. Now, we need solidarity more than ever. Our primary need is action of support for this period. To show that Volkan’s conscience is not alone at all.

You can follow all the process about anarchist and anti-militarist Volkan Sevinç at www.ahaligazetesi.org and you can contact us at ahaligazetesi@gmail.com.

Revolt in Rosarno - immigrants rise up

AFRICAN immigrants have risen up in southern Italy in two days of full-out rioting.

The rebellion was sparked by a racist attack but reflects the horrific conditions and poverty in which these modern-day slaves are forced to subsist.

The Press Association reported at least 37 wounded, including 18 police officers in the Rosarno revolt.

Added The Independent: "In one of the worst-ever incidents of racial unrest in Italy, the violence broke out on Thursday evening after white youths in a car fired air rifles at a group of immigrants returning from working on farms.

"Two immigrants were slightly injured by the gunfire. 'Those guys were firing at us as if it was a fairground,' a Moroccan identified as Kamal told La Repubblica newspaper. 'They were laughing, I was screaming, other cars were passing by but nobody stopped.'

"In a furious reaction, immigrant farm labourers fought pitched battles with police that lasted into the early hours. Dozens of cars were smashed with bricks and bars and the driver and passengers in one vehicle injured.

"Yesterday, more than 2,000 Africans massed in the town centre to demonstrate against the shootings and their living and working conditions. Some chanted 'we are not animals' and others carried placards saying: 'Italians here are racist'.

"This resulted in further clashes with police officers and locals, some of whom fired weapons into the air as the tension continued to escalate. Sporadic acts of vandalism continued and schools remained closed."

A “strong” bomb exploded outside the Greek parliament building in Athens tonight, on the corner of Vassilisis Sofias and Amalias Avenue. Mainstream media report that the attackers warned of the attack by calling an Athens daily newspaper minutes before the explosion so as for the police to cordon off the area. There are no injuries reported. More info as it comes.

Yesterday the cops of the local department in hamburg discovered that they were attacked with 6 bullets of 9mm, without being able to say exactly when the event occurred. There is speculation that the event took place at night when many New Year fireworks in the city fell, as by questions posed to local residents, there is no statement indicating that shots were heard.

Immigrants riot in Italy

2010-01-08 14:08

Rome - Riots broke out in southern Italy on Thursday night when immigrants burned cars and broke store windows to protest against an attack on African farm workers by a gang of local white youths, police said.

Television footage from the town of Rosarno, in the Calabria region, showed dozens of Africans smashing car windows with steel bars and stones and setting cars and rubbish bins on fire.

Police said at least one car was attacked while passengers were inside and several people were injured.

The immigrants, whose protest also blocked a road, clashed with police in riot gear and several were detained.

Some shouted "we are not animals" and carried signs reading "Italians here are racist".

The incidents took place after white youths in a car fired air rifles at a group of African immigrants returning from work on farms, injuring several of them.

Immigrants work in the area as day labourers picking fruit and vegetables. Some 1 500 live in squalid conditions in abandoned factories with no running water or electricity and human rights groups say they are exploited by organised crime.

Calabrian regional governor Agazio Loiero said while the action of the immigrants was totally unjustified, he acknowledged there had been "a strong provocation".

Italy has taken a hard line against illegal immigration and has moved to stem a tide of boatloads of immigrants who try to arrive on southern shores from Africa. Some boats have been turned back on the open seas.

Mother earth sabotage capitalism. Time for us to help to our mother earth. Climate summit is over, it is time to act.

Icy weather these days continues to paralyze traffic of capitalism, system of exploitation, which has become global, and its survival depends on the global transport. Yesterday flights at airports in France, Britain, Ireland and the Netherlands were suspended. Eurostar train was stuck in the tunnel "Channel" for two hours but later managed to arrive in Britain. Departure of 4 Eurostar trains were canceled. The Irish roads are frozen and hundreds of schools does not work. In the Netherlands around Amsterdam and Haarlem, in Wednesday there was snow rainfall so the traffic was blocked. In northern Sweden is measured minus 40 degrees and in the central part of the country was minus 30. In Oslo there is also a minus 40, so, oil in the engine of the city buses was frozen. Unfortunately, due to the negligence of the capitalist society for the homeless, from the beginning of winter in Poland, 122 homeless died. If we do not make a revolution, we will all finish the same, before or later. In the south of England, 4000 people remained without electricity as snow cut cables for electricity. It is obviously that global energy supply, built with the aim of creating a profit in organized way, can not provide to ordinary people a safe heat, water, preparing of lunch, etc. The nature can destroy all that in a few days.

People run for salaries in order to cover basic expenses, and people's work is creating profit for riches who destroy the climate of the planet and who does not give better wages and better life to workers, plus authorities have everywhere their spies who work against militant revolutionaries, so it is obvious that system is so determined that only nature can destroy it fast. Due to the human egoism, people will need centuries to do what the nature do inside of one month.

We should help to the nature, the same as nature help to us - we should sabotage present system together with nature: unscrew the screws at wheels of freight trains, unscrew the screws at cranes in ports, unscrew the screws at capitalist telecommunication repeaters... or imagine something else:) If the key for screw doesn't help, autogenous cutting helps.

ethal clashes at Gaza-Egypt border

Egyptian forces clashed with members of the Viva Palestina convoy late on Tuesday [GALLO/GETTY]

At least one Egyptian border guard has been killed and two Palestinians shot and wounded along the Gaza border during fierce clashes with Egyptian security forces.

A border protest on Wednesday turned violent over frustration that the aid convoy, Viva Palestina, had been delayed.

Egyptian forces opened fire to disperse stone-throwing protesters who had gathered on the Gaza side of the Rafah border crossing, witnesses and medics said.

Gaza's Hamas leaders had called for the rally to protest the delay of the Viva Palestina international aid convoy at Egypt's port city of al-Arish.

Al Jazeera's Ayman Mohyeldin, reporting from Gaza, said the situation had calmed considerably shortly thereafter.

"Senior officials from Palestinian security forces have arrived at the border [and] they have calmed the situation down. They were able to push back the thousand or so protesters and rock-throwers who had gathered here.

"About an hour ago, a rally that had been organised by Hamas to criticise Egypt's denial to allow the Viva Palestina convoy to make its way into Gaza with much needed aid was held here.

"Shortly after that concluded, Palestinians started throwing rocks at Egyptian security personnel on the other side of the border and we heard an exchange of gunfire. We have been able to confirm that two Palestinians have been injured as a result of that gunfire."

Aid convoy delayed

Wednesday's fighting followed a clash late on Tuesday between Egyptian authorities and international members of the Viva Palestina convoy, which is destined for the Gaza Strip.

At least 55 people were injured in those clashes when 520 activists broke down a gate at the port in al-Arish to protest against an Egyptian decision to ship some of the goods through Israel.

The protests were sparked by an Egyptian decision to allow 139 vehicles to enter Gaza through the Rafah crossing, about 45km from the port in al-Arish, but requiring a remaining 59 vehicles to pass via Israel.

The convoy, led by George Galloway, a British MP, had already been delayed by more than a week, after he and a delegation of Turkish MPs failed to persuade the Egyptians to change their mind.

Fawzi Barhoum, a Hamas spokesman, criticised Egyptian authorities on Wednesday for "reinforcing the seige on Gaza".

"Around 40 Arab, Islamic and European states have mobilized financial and media support to lift the siege imposed on Gaza Strip," he told Al Jazeera.

"Why does not Egypt go along this path of solidarity with Gaza Strip? Such practices are outrageous, inhumane and unethical.

"Our expectations from Egypt and its security authorities are high, but it seems that these expectations are being smashed by batons, hot water and the brutal beating of hundreds of supporters in al-Arish port ...".

Disputed route

The convoy of nearly 200 vehicles arrived in al-Arish on Monday after a dispute with Cairo on the route.

But the arrival came after a bitter dispute between its organisers and the government, which banned the convoy from entering Egypt's Sinai from Jordan by ferry, forcing it to drive north to the Syrian port of Lattakia.

The convoy with 210 lorries full of medicine and other supplies set out from the UK nearly a month ago.

Israel and Egypt have severely restricted travel to and from the Gaza Strip since Hamas seized power there in June 2007, after winning Palestinian legislative elections in 2006.

The blockade currrently allows only very basic supplies into Gaza.

The siege has severely restricted essential supplies and placed Gazans in a dire situation, made worse by Israel's military assault last winter that reduced much of the territory to ruins.

Viva Palestina: More Than 10 Injured, Seven Arrested, Including A Malaysian

Viva Palestina: More Than 10 Injured, Seven Arrested, Including A Malaysian

From Kuzaimah Idris

EL-ARISH PORT, Jan 6 (Bernama) -- More than 10 members of the Viva Palestina convoy were injured, four of them seriously, and seven members arrested by Egyptian police during a protest here Tuesday at 11.40pm local time.

Among those arrested was a Malaysian, Ibrahim Mohd Azmi, a University of Bristol medical student who was a convoy volunteer.

The protest was staged by Viva Palestina convoy members to protest against the decision by the Eqyptian government to bar 59 convoy vehicles from leaving here for Gaza.

Egyptian police acted strongly against the convoy members three hours after the protest was staged at the entry and exit security point at this port.

Four members were seriously injured and had to be taken to hospital for further treatment.

More than 10 members sustained light injuries due to thrown rocks and tear gas.

Also arrested were three Britons, two Americans and a Kuwaiti.

According to witnesses, the incident was provoked by agents provocateurs of the Egyptian government.

Earlier, the convoy members had gathered and formed a human wall to protest against the decision to disallow the 59 vehicles from leaving the port.

The Egyptians deployed 189 anti-riot personnel equipped with water cannon and tear gas.

According to Viva Palestina leader George Galloway, there are negotiations at the highest level by Turkish authorities with the Egyptian government including for the release of all those detained.

At the time of this report at 4.10am local time, the situation was calm although observation and enclosure was still on by the Egyptian authorities.

The Viva Palestina Convoy is made up of 450 people from various countries with 220 vehicles in a mission to send humanitarian aid like food, medicines and school equipment worth more than US$1 million to Palestinians in Gaza.

The mission began in London on Dec 9 last year and has moved through various places in Turkey, Syria and Jordan.

The convoy was supposed to arrive in Gaza on Dec 27 but was held up by the Egyptian government which refused to allow use of the port of Nuweiba for entry to Rafah before arriving in Gaza.

As a result, they had to return to Syria to find another way to reach Rafah to go into Gaza.
