Vandals spray paint Rio's Christ statue

Vandals spray paint Rio\

17/4

Vandals covered the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro with spray-painted graffiti, marring the monument in an act Rio’s mayor called a “crime against the nation.”

The vandals covered the head, arms and chest of the 130-foot statue, which sits atop the 2,300-foot Corcovado mountain, using scaffolding that had been erected to carry out maintenance work. Phrases scrawled on the statue included

“When the cat’s away, the rats will play,” as well as what appeared to be references to Rio residents who were killed or who disappeared in recent crimes, the newspaper O Globo reported

SOCIAL WAR! EVRYWERE! AND SOLIDARITY ACTION NOW!!

Paris - action in solidarity with the Greek (and other) comrades

translated from cette semaine

16 April 2010 - 17:19 par ANONYME

During the night between 15 and 16 April, in Montmartre, we covered a DAB of the Société Générale in paint, leaving a slogan o0n the wall opposite "Bim ! War on capital". Further away, another slogan "war on property" was left on the façade of a building society of which one window was broken. With this action,we are sending our solidarity to the comrades in Greece and elsewhere who are struggling against domination in all its forms.

The social war knows neither truce nor frontier.

Freedom for Costantino, Silvia and Billy (Switzerland)

On the 15th of April Costantino, Silvia and Billy were arrested in Switzerland under the charge of transport of explosive material and of having tried to use it.

We affirm our absolute solidarity with them. Their identity and their struggle is the identity and struggle of all revolutionaries, because they fought with passion, persistency and absolute will against the state and capitalism, who has produced wars, death, environmental destruction, exploitation, surpression and profit for those in power. And the control and bio- and nanotechnological development are some of the instruments in the hands of those in power, to preserve these circumstances.

There are three kinds of people: those who stand at the window and follow what happens; those who stand at the window and comment on what happens; and then there are those, who make the things in front of the
window happen.

These people – who have understood the necessity to become active to free themselves from the chains of this society – are the irreplaceable ones and we stand on their side.

Solidarity is our weapon!
Solidarity with Costa, Silvia and Billy!
Solidarity with Marco Camenisch!
Solidarity with all political prisoners!

At the moment Costantino is in the prison ‘Amtshaus Bern’, Luca is in the prison of Thun and Silvia is in the prison of Biel.

April 15th, Paris: Solidarity action with the Greek comrades

On April 15th, in Montmartre, we recovered with color an ATM of the Société Générale Bank (keyboard, screen, slot), writing a graffiti on the close wall “ Bim! War to capital!“. Further, another graffiti„War to property“ was left on the front of an estate agency in construction, which one glass has been broken. With this action, we send our solidarity to the companions in Greece and elsewhere, who fight against domination, and all the forms it can have.

Madrid - new attack on police academy of Atocha in solidarity with Greek comrades and Tamara

Thursday, 15 April 2010

fonte: http://madrid.indymedia.org, via culmine

There has been another attack against the police academy in Atocha, with a hammer a window of the main entrance was smashed and sprayed "Freedom to the Greek anarchists" and "Freedom Giannis".

This dictatorship needs obedient servants to protect the interests of the dominant class. Those who rebel against this misery, against this form of life imposed and made artificial will be excluded, tortured, arrested and/or as it the case of Giannis who like many others has decided to rebel, and refuse to accept the imposition of work, consumerism, false freedom, to accept living death. For this now he is condemned now by all the scoria that serve the State/Capital: police, judges, journalists, engineers, professors... they are our enemies, let's attack them!

Greek-style unrest for the UK?

BRITAIN will be hit by waves of "Greek-style unrest" if a Tory or Labour government narrowly wins the election and then tries to push through draconian spending cuts, Nick Clegg has warned.

In an interview with the Observer, the Liberal Democrat leader says he fears "serious social strife" would break out on the streets if a government with limited support at the election on 6 May then raised taxes, laid off public-sector workers and froze wages.

"Imagine the Conservatives go home and get an absolute majority, on 25% of the eligible votes," Clegg said. "They then turn around in the next week or two and say we're going to chuck up VAT to 20%, we're going to start cutting teachers, cutting police and the wage bill in the public sector. I think if you're not careful in that situation… you'd get Greek-style unrest. And so my warning to people who think the old politics still works, is be careful for what you wish for."

In his own constituency city of Sheffield, where there are no Conservative MPs or councillors, and a high proportion of public-sector workers, he fears a ferocious backlash against potential Tory cuts.

"Suddenly these people will be told by a government that has no legitimacy [in the area] in their eyes that this government is going to slash and burn, having promised them something else."

Clegg's fears may have been prompted by the 20th anniversary celebrations of the 1990 Poll Tax riots across the UK (see photo), which spelled the end for his heroine Margaret Thatcher.

Recalled anarchist group Class War earlier this year: "A vast number of confrontations between the people, and the police and government took place all around the UK, building momentum towards the large demonstration planned.

"Class War came to prominence because of the riot in Trafalgar Square. The 1990 uprisings against the Poll Tax seared like wildfire outside every council chamber and Shire Hall culminating in that glorious carnival of insurrection at Trafalgar Square when 10000 riotous working class heroes were cheered on by another 300000 as they torched buildings, fought cops with scaffolding poles and brought the reality of class war to the cosseted rich of the City and West End.

"This was no drunken mob, this was MASS CLASS WAR. As the filth forced Trafalgar Square clear, the mobs went in different directions. East to the plush arcades of Covent Garden, North to the expensive shopping areas of Regent Street, West to Leicester Square. All with the same motive, to show the rich scum exactly what we think of them and what they can expect more of in the future."

Chile - young punk killed by carabineros

Monday, 12 April 2010

from informa-azione / diyfusionxanarcopunk.entodaspartes.net
Monday 5 April, in the Nueva Braunau locality about 10 kilometres from Puerto Varas the carabineros surprised -at 2 in the morning - 3 young people who were drinking outside their home. The cops went up to them and told them they were going to arrest them. An argument broke out between the young people and the carabinero. The sister of the victim affirmed: "during the discussion a carabinero threatened to kill my brother and he replied "kill me" , not thinking that he would shoot. Instead the carabinero fired a shot at him."
"Pepo", the victim, was shot at close range , less than one metre and fell to the ground. The carabineros did not help the victim and the ambulance arrived after 25 minutes. The ambulance of the police in the area did not intervene.
The young punk died after arriving at the hospital. The two young people accompanying him were taken to the police station.

An incredible fiasco became the company of police andantiteroristcops of local and foreign services.

11/april

A few hours ago announced cuts in wages and mass layoffs new public and private sector from the IMF, the

cops GREECE and americans bastards with their bosses, trying to set up another political plot by militants. Compared with past

political machinations - this fiasco are different.

First to sign the Poulain murderers of the American embassy, and the great Chrysochoidis. Also for the first time in prison will

be blunt (is expected) people because their computers in their libraries were dissidents texts. For the first time in many years

to criminalize political discourse rather than an abstract of the current systemic culture of criminalization, but there will be a

real episode in real life.

The charges against the detainees is that the hard drives of texts found in the police attributed to political organizations of

armed violence. But the political organizations of armed violence is not mentioned in nefelim and Elohim, but in political issues

concerning the operation of the order of few against the many. Only organizations are political texts with references to political

issues of all. It is the first time that the political discourse while not accompanied by a "criminal act" sufficient to prison

someone. The texts were found (according to the official announcement) in the possession of arrested persons are not attached

to a hit but "highly likely" that the amerikanotsoliades a blueprint for future attacks. .

Previously another bright luminary of the American Embassy, who served with loyalty and dedication the appropriate Ministry

of Chrysochoidis, put other ingredients in such cases for example, a little hash, a little gun ownership, a wig, a fingerprint, a

kettle, a frying pan, a vre something the brother to tie scenario, and had seen three or four American films, they were not

"illiterate" like this one here ..

From the first moment of operation of the cretin and police departments, and MMEmazi regime 'in the journalistic army. The

news of the company channeled first through administrative channels to the media after cops assumed by the news of the

arrest sent through administrative all media, from television of Vardilogianni, etc. Bobolas up the web of "honest journalists"

who were preparing the titles pychaious success .

In the end, rather than guns, dynamite, masks, etc., were found to count pages from political manifestos and television media

were putting Ms. puts screens up bottles for cleaning lenses known company that had become completely black from the ink

for fingerprints.

The size is huge fiasco is exactly proportional to the image have COPS both political radical spaces (anarchist-independent

elected, etc.) for years in a permanent attacking institutions and mechanisms, no one can hold this social- political piece to

something more "visible" and thus more controllable. 'Osokai for groups of armed force to attack at a time when both the left

and the other power forces can not defend anything, having completely killed ..

That are commonly cops deep midnight, can not understand the processes contributing to things. .

As part dakrygono and of our great offer to the public consultation of public affairs, we hope to the cops and the other

americans bastards good reading of hard disks, books, magazines and newspapers picked up on this wonderful business and to

supplement the first opportunity to let go at any bookstore to find even more .. ....

Sodimatex struggle: what next?

April 7th, Crépy-en-Valois: workers threaten again to blow up their factory
    „Without us, no cars“

Since Friday April 2nd, the workers threaten to put in fire the propane tank. They barricaded the factory after they have been circled by the gendarmerie mobile (a fast unit from the army, called for riots). Staff have already set fire to pieces of plastic and rolls of carpet at the factory, sending billowing black smoke into the sky.

Workers at a factory facing closure in France have threatened to blow up the plant unless they are given better layoff compensation. About 50 workers at Sodimatex, which makes car rugs, have been occupying the site in Crepy-en-Valois since Thursday. They are pressuring the company for better compensation. The employees have placed petrol bombs near a large gas tank and are threatening to set them ablaze. The French industry minister has condemned the move and urged the workers to settle the row through talks.

France is suffering a 10 percent unemployment rate — highest in a decade. The car industry is among the hardest-hit by the economic slowdown. Plant closings have led French workers to increasingly militant behavior, with numerous cases of boss-napping over the past year and one other case of a threat to blow up a factory.
<>

    Negociations in the police sub-headquarter

This wednesday, after a day of negociations, the workers occupied again their place; lighting fire for the night and threatening again to put in fire the propane tank. Obvisously, the negociations haven‘t lead to what they expected. Due to pres, the ‚Trèves‘ company suggested to give them 3200euro, whereas they asked for 21 000euro. Some workers left the meeting, joigning the new occupation, while the negociations went on several hours.

#234 | The attempted cover-up of Alexis’ murder

From tragedy to farce and back again: a few notes on the ongoing trial of Alexis’ murderers

The trial of Epaminondas Korkoneas and Vassilis Saraliotis, the two cops who killed Alexandros Grigoropoulos, has been taking place in the remote town of Amfissa (230 km away from Athens) since mid-February. Away from the chaotic times of Athens, an outrageous cover-up of the murder is being attempted by the cops’ lawyer (Kougias) and largely assisted, it seems, by the court’s judge.

  • First, the decision to hold the trial so far away from Athens (apparently for security reasons) causes tremendous access issues to eye-witnesses wishing to testify in court; many of them (who were Alexis’ friends) are juveniles and traveling away from Athens for a few days is near-impossible.
  • One of the alleged “key eye-witnesses”, named Anta Tsormpatzioudi, has now proven to be a perjurer (false witness), willingly lying to court. Her original testimony had been accepted by the court, causing the lawyers of Alexis’ family to resign in protest (the trial continues with new lawyers).
  • The testimony by Ms. Tsormpatzioudi was key, as her supposed “eye-witness account” was used for the reconstruction of the murder. However, a court order to publicise the mobile phone conversations between Tsormpatzioudi and a chief police-man of the local police station of Exarcheia (called Dimos Minoudis) reveals that the two had frequent conversations (that they had denied in court) – the first being three hours after Alexis’ assassination and continuing up until a few days prior to, and on the actual day of the re-enactment of the murder.
  • A friend of Alexis’ who was next to him when he was assassinated (we had spoken with him then), now 17 years old, has denied to appear in court, as he claims to be under police surveillance and fears for his life – while he has also declared he has no faith in the trial process. The court has issued an order for the violent transfer of the teenager to court; he has now gone into hiding.
  • Meanwhile, one riot policeman who was present at the scene also testified yesterday, claiming that the situation at the spot prior to the assassination was calm – and in this way contradicting the statements of every single other policeman – who were claiming that the shooting took place amidst rioting…

The “trial” continues.

Anarchists have occupied the School of Jurnalism in the centre of Thessaloniki.

They call for a gathering at 10.30 on Friday at the court of the city for solidarity to the 3 comrades that were arrested before the demonstration that took place on Thursday for writing political slogans with spray, and for a gathering on Saturday in a central square for solidarity to the 6 arrested comrades that are accused for participation in the organization ‘Revolutionary Struggle’. Next assembly is on Friday at 17.00.
More than 4,000 people demonstrate last night in Athens in solidarity with Marios Zervas who was arrested without any reason one month ago during the big strike and he still in jail since then, without a trial. Marios was arrested and accused without any evidence during the demonstration of the strikers. Marios has…dreadlocks which looked very suspicious to the riot cops who decided to arrest him out of the blue and accuse him for rioting, while there is no other evidence apart from the cops’ testimony. 16/4

If they want to create division, indifference and passivity by spreading terror and slander, we should turn against them the weapon of SOLIDARITY.

If the mechanisms wish to present themselves as the only subject who writes its bloody history conducting the peoples’ lives, we have every reason to talk about all those struggles burst and still bursting in every place where the dictatorship of the states and the capitalists is imposed, about this eternal fight for freedom that goes on, in different ways and forms in time and space.
To shout for all those who are kept hostages by the states, while the regime’s propaganda, when not presenting them as “dangerous criminals”, tries to present as “harmless and weak”, “depoliticized” and “marginalized” in order to disdain the choice of resistance. And say what is really ventured, why they are affraid of them and affraid of us.

To talk about the ways that the criminal gangs of the states and the bosses have used in order to imprison the revolted people and about this spirit of revolt that they never managed to imprison... FROM ACT FROM FREEDOM NOW.. OUR SOLIDARITY TO THE 6 COMRADES IN ATHENS..

#232| Welcoming a new squat in Athens

Athens seems to be going through exceptionally tough times: austerity measures that make society kneel under great pressure are put to practice, police units are stationed in every single block downtown, the big unions (GSEE, ADEDY) are completely silent, while demonstrations are weak, with little participation and even less passion. And yet, although society seems to be numb and not to know how to react against the intensifying pressure from all sides (needless to mention that the mass media have been very creative in the way they combine terrorism with the anarchist/antiauthoritarian movement every single day on the news), a new squat is born in the neighborhood of Marousi (northern suburb of Athens).

In their introductory text they write, among other things:

“While many young people have no interest in what is going on in society, and spend their time in clubs and internet cafes, our need and desire to articulate political discourse through various actions and to resist the repression, breach and limitation of our rights, in a society which has enrichment and individualism as its sole values, all the above urged us to create a free space where we will have the opportunity to self-organize”.

“Thus we decided, being a group of people who identify ourselves as part of the anarchist/ antiauthoritarian movement, to occupy the Kouvelou Mansion on 7 April, and to create an open social center where we will house, anti-hierarchically, our political and social beliefs. Away from the influence of political parties, with self-organization as our basic principle, we long to transform this building into a hub of counter-information, events, discussions and various forms of action. Our goal is to make it a lively part of the city, open to all”.

“We consider it our right to have a space where we will develop our activities. It is our aim to contribute to social demands and struggles against all forms of power.”

With self-organization and solidarity as our weapon, we walk on the path towards freedom.

Party and discussion on Sunday 11 April at 12pm.

Latest news on Tamara’s situation

From Klinamen:

April 8, 2010

Four months have passed since December 15, when they abducted our friend and comrade Tamara. Even today, her mail is still being confiscated, and it is impossible for her to communicate with people outside her family.

On the legal end, an appeal was filed in which the letter-bomb’s contents were analyzed and its possible effects assessed. This assessment was positive for our comrade, since it confirmed that the letter-bomb she is charged with sending could not possibly have caused serious harm. Let’s remember that the reasons why our comrade currently finds herself in preventive detention are the severe charges she is facing, which would be refuted with this new information.

The appeal was denied in principle by the judge, so the same appeal was filed today in provincial court with the aim of securing our comrade’s conditional liberty pending trial, since the arguments for continuing her preventive detention are based solely on her abductors’ opinions and their desire to keep her locked up.

Whether or not she is responsible for sending the letter-bomb, we believe that this series of “coincidences” is a result of the anti-prison struggle and the constant solidarity shown by our comrade with all those who, in one way or another, are suffering the abuses of power. It’s an inconvenience to the state that there are people like Tamara who struggle every day to expose all the shit hidden and suppressed behind the prison walls. These are the consequences.

Therefore, we demand that our comrade be set free. And we encourage everyone to go out and show solidarity with her and all those who, at this very moment, are suffering the abuses of this rotten system.

FOR AN END TO PRISONS!!!!

Police academy attacked near Atocha station in Madrid

April 5, 2010

Early Saturday morning, the entrance to a training facility for police and other servants of the state was attacked with stones. As long as they continue to imprison and beat us, as long as they exist, they will be thrashed. We attacked this academy with ease. Every one of us can spread revolt. Let’s attack all those who defend the state, who protect the dominators and their laws in order to keep the state functioning. Let’s stop the destruction of the Earth, let’s stop this barbarism. Let’s leave defensive strategy behind and begin the attack.

For Tamara, for all the imprisoned comrades, for the caged and tortured animals!

Letter from the 17yearold witness of Alexis murder. 8/4/2010

undefined

"My initiative to write and publicise my position and clarify the reasons why I am not going to appear in court came after reading and seeing the publications and following the development of both them and the development of the trial.
After taking a look at the media publications and what Mr Kougias said, I believe I'm obliged to take a position against him since he decided to do the same against me.
As for him not participating in the trial if I do not appear to testify, I state that with great happiness and impatience I wait for his non-participation and also his ridiculous statements, that only make me laugh.
As for the second part where he refers to my involvement in far left organizations, cooperation with criminals and other ridiculous things like that, i would like to say that they are just conspiracy theories of an imaginative lawyer who likes to create impressions and tries every way possible to cling on to timelines, regardless of whether they are positive or negative for him.

Nothing more than a mythomaniac "Karagiozakos" who has knowledge of the
criminal code and likes to suck as much disclosure as possible, playing either the role of a victim (beaten, fainting etc.) or that of a consequential professional.
As for the announcement from the police that they are not monitoring my every move, all I have to say is that saying that they are not following me around everywhere is like saying that Korkoneas did not shoot Alexis.

Id like also to clarify here that besides the publications, I had no intention to appear in
court anyway because I'm not at all interested in the outcome of this trial. I consider it my political choice to not appear when the institution tells me to, but to express my point of view when and how I choose to.

So, I wish good luck to Mr Kougias and his client, and I challenge the Greek police to do their job, if they have the specific ability"

Update on Alexis murderers trial. 7/4/2010

The main witness,a 17yearold, has not appeared yet to testify against epaminontas korkoneas and vassilis saraliwtis, the cops who murdered Alexis Grigoropoulos in athens in december 2008. because of this, their lawer, the scum alexis kougias demanded fromthe court that he is brought in by force. According to the court, the youth that was holding alexis as he died, is the main witness. The youth was suppose to appear today but dint show.

His lawer said that the youth does not want to appear because he is in constant police surveilance and is still psycologically unfit to testify. He also mention that if the police dont stop following him around he wont come in to testify at all. The judge said that the courts leniency towards the witness, whos testimony is very important to the case, has worn out and asked for his forceful appearance.
  1. The murderers lawer alexis kougias said that the witness is not appearing because hes trying to make a joke of the court. He also claimed that the 17yearold witness along with the other eye witnesses examined by the court, are members of the youth organization "Communist Liberation" and that they have a dangerous anti-governmental attitude and that they are trying to manipulate the trial through other ways.
Aswell he said that if the witness does not appear he will have to quit the case.

uprising in Kyrgyzstan

undefined

(Reuters) – Kyrgyz troops opened fire on thousands of anti-government protesters on Wednesday outside the offices where President Kurmanbek Bakiyev was sheltering after clashes that killed at least 17 people, a Reuters witness said.
A group of at least 10 government soldiers were shooting with automatic weapons from the government headquarters toward protesters, a Reuters cameraman said.

There was intense gunfire in the center of the capital and a series of blasts, a Reuters reporter said. Protesters were dragging wounded people covered in blood away from the square.

The Kyrgyz Kabar news agency said 17 people had been killed and 142 people were wounded as demonstrators attempted to topple the president of the impoverished Central Asian state of 5.3 million people.

But an emergency services official said more than 50 people may have been killed.

Huge plumes of black smoke were billowing around the city center. A group of protesters, waving red-and-yellow Kyrgyz flags, arrived in the main square atop an armored personnel carrier seized from the military.

Ex-Soviet Kyrgyzstan hosts a U.S. military air base that helps support troops in Afghanistan, as well as a Russian base.

Kyrgyz Prime Minister Daniyar Usenov, who earlier dismissed the protesters in Talas as “bandits,” told Reuters by telephone that he and the president were both working in their offices.

“We daren’t even look out of the window,” Kamil Sydykov, the prime minister’s spokesman, said by telephone from inside the presidential building.

Some 1,000 people stormed the prosecutor-general’s office in the capital and were breaking windows and tossing out computers and office equipment, a Reuters reporter said. Opposition activists also took control of state television channel KTR.

“The political violence is likely to continue in Kyrgyzstan,” said Lilit Gevorgyan, political analyst at IHS Global Insight. “Given (Bakiyev’s) resolve in recent years to concentrate power in his hands only, it is difficult to see how a political compromise may be found.”

Kyrgyzstan receives aid from both Russia and the United States as well as from neighboring China. Bishkek also relies on remittances from migrant workers in Russia; payments that have dwindled in the last year as Russia’s economy has suffered.

“The country still has an inherent vulnerability which in an environment of economic dislocation can easily be sparked off into a new cycle of violence,” said Christopher Granville of Trusted Sources Research in London.

“The drop in remittances is a very important part of the explanation for the latest civic violence,” he said.

Protesters seized government buildings in three other towns. In one town, Talas, Kyrgyz First Deputy Prime Minister Aklybek Japarov and Interior Minister Moldomusa Kongantiyev were badly beaten. Kongantiyev was forced to shout: “Down with Bakiyev!,” two witnesses said.

The opposition in Kyrgyzstan has been demanding that Bakiyev, who himself came to power in a popular revolt in 2005, tackle corruption and fire his relatives from senior positions.

Russia called for restraint. “We would like to make an urgent appeal to the hostile parties to refrain from the use of force to avoid bloodshed,” Andrei Nesterenko, spokesman for Russia’s Foreign Ministry, said in a statement.

The Kyrgyz government declared a state of emergency and said a curfew would be enforced between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. in Bishkek and three other regions of Kyrgyzstan.

Bakiyev, from the south of Kyrgyzstan, has angered clans from Bishkek, Talas and other regions by appointing in his own kinsmen to senior positions, and excluding others from power, said Reinhard Krumm, director of a Moscow think-tank.

The protests spread to the capital after riots which began in Talas the day before and continued into Wednesday.

“We will stay here until the end, no matter what the government does,” Talas Kadyraliyev, a 45-year-old local opposition activist, told Reuters from the scene.

In Naryn, a town in central Kyrgyzstan, more than 1,000 opponents of the president also took over the local government building, witnesses told Reuters. The government headquarters in a southern village, Kerben, were also occupied by protesters.

U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon visited Bishkek last week and called on the government to do more to protect human rights.

US anti-police protests kick off

A WAVE of protests against police brutality have kicked off in the North West of the United States of America.

Reported the Associated Press: "Police arrested 29 people after an anti-police march in Olympia Thursday night turned violent.

"Cmdr. Tor Bjornstad said Friday that officers were monitoring about three-dozen people dressed in black, wearing masks and calling themselves anarchists. The group started marching downtown about 7 p.m. Thursday, chanting obscenities at the police.

"By 9 p.m., they had spray-painted the camera of a photographer for The Olympian and tried to take the camera and his cell phone, Bjornstad said. They also spray-painted buildings, broke windows and threw newspaper boxes into the street.

"Officers surrounded the group and made the arrests.

"Two officers were hit — one in the head and one in the groin — and those two attackers were booked for investigation of felony assault, Bjornstad said."

"Two people who attacked the photographer were booked for investigation of assault.

"The rest were booked for investigation of riotous conduct and released overnight with charges referred to the prosecutor.

"Bjornstad said there was no identifiable group responsible for the demonstration, but most of the marchers are college age. He said it may be related to similar protests in Portland, where hundreds have marched through downtown streets in recent weeks to decry two fatal shootings by officers."

And then, the next day, there were further anti-police protests and five more arrests in Seattle.

The Seattle Times reported: "Seattle Police spokeswoman Renee Witt said the five were arrested during a march in the Capitol Hill neighborhood Friday afternoon for investigation of crimes ranging from trespassing to inciting a riot."
