08-24-2009 group of Lithuanian activists gathered in front of Greek embassy in Vilnius in order to express solidarity with Thodoros Iliopoulos. Several banners were displayed in front of the embassy with slogans demanding Thodoros freedom in Greek and Lithuanian. Leaflets explaining the situation were handed out and petition signed. The attempt to pass the petition failed since the embassy clerk refused activists to enter the building. The petition was put in the mailbox. Some embassy official stopped by and promised that it will be dealt with. The small protest quickly drew police attention. Police held the small group for about 30 minutes and later released without charges.
