Saturday, 04 September 2010
Indonesian police have killed five villagers on September 1st, when dozens of people devastated a police station in Sulawesi about 1,500 kilometers northeast of Jakarta.
General Amin Saleh, according to AP reports, said the station more than a hundred attacked the villagers, including some carrying rocks and Molotov cocktails.
Saleh said that police fired on villagers. The conflict is also injured 17 people, mostly police officers who were struck by stones.
The attacks villagers came to the station after a motorcyclist died in prison. It is unclear why he was imprisoned, but the villagers suspect that he died because of torture.
