Protest in front of Belarus embassy in Sofia, Bulgaria

13 December 2010. A new anarchist group in Bulgaria called "Antiautoritarian action for free society" held a protest in front of Belarus embassy in Sofia in solidarity with arrested belarusian anarchists.

"Въiше, въiше чернъi флаг, государство – главнъi враг!" (High, high black flag. State is our enemy)

The Gay Pride Parade in Belgrade, Serbia

These are some thoughts about the gay parade in Belgrade. This is written by a person who lives close to Serbia and this text represents only her opinion.

The first successful gay pride parade took place in Serbia despite the attacks with stones and bombs from the homophobes. Around 1000 people participated. In previous years all such events were cancelled with brutal violence.

It seems clear that the success of this year parade was because of the government support and massive police presence. It is clear why government gave its support - they want to please their new "partners" from Western Europe and USA. But all this do not put a black spot on the fact that a lot of ordinary people with homosexual or heterosexual orientation walk on Belgrade streets and said clear - "YES to diversity, NO to fascism and homophobia".

My solidarity IS NOT FOR the police who faced the heavy rain of stones from "Serbian patriots" and a lot of them were seriously hurt (reports said about 90 policemen were injured). Policemen did not put themselves in danger because they feel sympathy toward gays, they did this because they are paid to follow orders. Even best or worst police act is done for money with less and less emotions - just like robocops. The policeman of the future with have no emotions at all so he can do his "professional duties" at his best.

My solidarity IS NOT FOR the politicians who supported the gay parade. They just lick asses of their western masters and tomorrow if they find a stronger master, they will turn to 180 degrees. For example if Iran become a super-power (a disaster scenario for humankind), a lot of governments and politicians will change direction. Then how much of today politicians who praise democracy and tolerance toward gays will keep doing this ? A lot of them will quickly start to praise "Iranian model".

My solidarity IS FOR ordinary people of Serbia - gays or not, who year after year do not stop to struggle despite threats and serious beatings. These people deserve full support because they will keep fighting for their ideas no matter if police protect them or beat them and no matter if they have the support of a "pro-democratic" government or they are repressed by a "pro-taliban" Serbian rule.

I saw a proud anarchist flag on the gay pride parade so the only thing I can say is: "Револуционарни поздрав, другови!" (Revolutionary greetings, comrades!)

Some unreported news from Bulgaria - Summer 2010

25 Септември 2010

03.06.2010 - Jewelry shop in Sofia was robbed by only one man. He made it not in the night but in a bright day. How can one guess it is so easy to rob a jewelry shop, lol ?

30.08.2010, Sofia - A roma man (gypsy) managed to hit a policeman with a brick.

Political party "Ataka" (Attack) is the biggest right-wing party in Bulgaria. It is in the bulgarian parliament and in european parliament too and a lot of its younger members are fascists. But there are some resistance against them as well.

28.08.2010 in city of Varna, an office of the party "Ataka" was robbed.

07.09.2010 in city of Burgas, a shop belonging to "Ataka" was set on fire.

But fascism and fascists are on high rise in Bulgaria. On 06.06.2010 fascists beat down some left activists. Some fascists were arrested but latter released and it looks they will not be send in court. Same fascists organized a demonstration against roma people. Others right-wing nuts and priests organized demonstration demanding christianity to return to class rooms. WTF ?! This is not Talibania, this is Bulgaria and religion should stay away from school.

18.09.2010 Fortunately there was a pro-roma protest too. After France deported some roma people back to Bulgaria, some people organized this protest - a lot of ethnic bulgarians supported roma people too.

News from Bulgaria - June 2010

01.06.2010 Very active day. Workers from two different companies - "Ledenika" and "Agrolesproject" went ot strike. Also there was a demonstration in Sofia in solidarity with people of Gaza.

06.06.2010 New protest in front of the Center for Detention of Immigrants. Anarchists, communists, liberals, ex-detainees of the Center demanded freedom for all people locked inside. Before the protest a group of at least 15 neo-nazis attacked much smaller group of 4 left radicals and beat them very seriously. Once again police showed its tolerance to the nazis as only 8 were arrested, two of them were released soon and maybe other 6 will be released too. Some days later nazis beat a group of gypsies.

10.06.2010 A group of activists blocked a main road in Sofia as a protest against nazi attacks. Somehow fascists learned about the planned direct action and make threats in internet. Despite their threats and the fact that there was no police at the begining of the action nazis did not attack. It is not a surprise - fascists rats prefer to attack only much smaller groups and not to confront equal to their size group of left radicals. After around 30 minutes police came and slowly managed to push the protestors outside the road.

16.06.2010 A 23-yours old man beat an inspector from a water supply company in the village of Kuklen. Some days earlier in the city of Bankia another man opened fire against inspectors from a electricity supply company. Companies providing electricity, water, natural gas and so on apply very high taxes and people hate them. That is why a lot of people illegally connect to the power grid and use electricity without paying.

19.06.2010 A young man (around 20-25 years old) robbed a shop armed with an axe. Police is still looking for him.

Angry news from Bulgaria - April 2010

02.04.2010 Unknown persons tried to set on fire a city council building in the city of Plovdiv in the middle of the night. The entrance door was severely burned.

06.04.2010 City of Kurdjali. Someone throw acid on a capitalist company car. Probably fired ex-workers from the same company.

08.04.2010 City of Dupnica. A man stole a police car right from the police station. Policemen started to chase him. The man crashed the police car and it exploded. The man escaped from the fire but he was arrested by the police.

15.04.2010 Small village of Kochan close to the border with Greece. There was a greek sewing company there. That night the owner of the company tried to load all the machines on trucks and move to another location (probably back to Greece). As workers heard this they came to the factory and occupied it. In previous months there was a lot of cases when foreign companies quit its work in Bulgaria, left the country and did not paid last salaries of its workers. This time this was not the case - workers occupied the factory until they received their money.

As we already mentioned in previous news in march a single woman managed to rob a bank in the city of Pleven. Unfortunately police managed to identify her on a security camera tape although she was disguised. They arrested her. It turns out that she is not a dangerous criminal neither a psychopath. She is an ordinary teacher. Now she can be sentenced up to 10 years in prison although this is her first "criminal act" and she has done it because of the misery (average salary of a teachers in Bulgaria is around 200 euro). But now she is the real people's hero of the day!
