Chile - Words of Monica Caballero in solidarity with anti-authoritarian prisoners of the world

culmine

31/10/2010 - Political prison is a daily act for the Chilean State as for any other, in that, as the comrades living in the lands dominated by the State of Ecuador expressed well, "insensitivity to distance is also the product of the dominant culture that has drawn imaginary lines on maps, making us feel distant and different."
We must recognise solidarity as a weapon against all States and capital, we cannot, as anti-authoritarians, fight only the authority that interferes in the place where we live, because then the enemy would win another battle.
In the world anyone who dares question the sacrosanct social peace so loved and enjoyed by citizens, is locked up. All the strange, the sick, the abnormal, the misfits already have a place reserved between huge walls where the good workers won't see them and many cameras will observe their movements. For the inhabitants of these structures of punishment they can expect the justice of capital, supported by the universal religion of devotion to democracy and the rule of law.
Anti-authoritarian solidarity must be a constant exercise, which at times does not neglect the offensive.
Greetings to fellow prisoners for the Animal and Earth Liberation in Mexico, vegans: Abraham, Socorro, Adrián and Braulio.

A big insurgent hug to the people of the territory dominated by the Greek State; to Kostas and Nikos, currently on hunger strike. And to all those who have taken a position in the war against all forms of domination, any place on the planet.
And to the libertarian, anarchist and punk comrades, inhabitants of the territory baptised by the Power as Ecuador: your lines and great gestures came to the ears of this prisoner. I thank you from my heart!!

Madrid - attack in solidarity with Chilean anarchists

cette semaine

Madrid, 21/10/2010 - Yesterday October 20, the windows of a Santander bank in the south of Madrid were pelted with stones, and a tag was left: "Solidarity with the anarchists of Chile".
This bank was chosen for its connection with the Chilean State and bourgeoisie, being present over a large part of Chilean territory, and involved in the exploitation of its inhabitants.
Let's come out into the Streets! May the rage spread!
To our Chilean brothers! To those who fight!
We do not want to deal with this misery, but to destroy it!

Communiqué: Action for the prisoners in Chile

4 10 2010 From Culmine (October 4, 2010) via Libertad a lxs 14A (October 3, 2010):

THIS WAS REVENGE
During the week, we heard the news of the arbitrary transfer to Santiago 1 of the comrades imprisoned in the Bombs Case, as well as their hunger strike and subsequent one-month sentence. Added to that was the beating given to our brother Abuelo (Camilo). Therefore, we decided to arm ourselves with household items in order to take revenge.
“In this joint, the cops are in charge,” declared the aggressor gendarme. Today we answer him: “In the joint and on the streets, anyone can be in charge. It’s just a question of will and conviction.”
Sir Gendarmes, wretched jailers: HANDS OFF THE ANARCHIST POLITICAL PRISONERS. Know full well that we will not stand for even one more outrage against the abducted comrades, their visitors, or their communications.
And you, sir prosecutor Alejandro Peña, should stop bullshitting. You must know that anarchists DON’T HAVE LEADERS. Therefore, ILLICIT ASSOCIATION IS IMPOSSIBLE.
Chilean Gendarmes, CONSIDER YOURSELVES WARNED.
NO MORE ANTI-TERRORIST LAW
FREE THE ACCUSED IN THE BOMBS CASE
(We take this opportunity to send greetings to those showing internationalist solidarity in England, Spain, Mexico, Greece, Argentina, Canada, and elsewhere, as well as the Mapuche prisoners in Angol who are maintaining their struggle.)

…el show “caso bombas”…

Stop the press! Pinochet is uncomfortable in his grave

Announcement of the Translation Counter-Information Network contrainfo.espiv.net in solidarity with all the politically persecuted by the regime of Chile, for the concentration of the 24th of September, out of the Embassy of Chile, in the context of the international solidarity day with the political prisoners in Chile.

In 2009, the chilean state commenced an intensive campaign of persecution against squatters and Mapuche natives, aiming at their extinction. In perfect cooperation with the judicial system, the goal was the same in both cases: accusations of terrorism.
theBomb Casespectacle
Early in the morning of August 15 an incredibly extensive and spectacular police operation took place in various Chilean cities. Police forces invaded squats, social spaces and houses, arresting plenty of people and destroying everything in their way.
This new device of the chilean state is named “Bomb Case”. The new operation of the chilean police intends to find a convenient victim to charge with the 23 bombings that occured in Santiago.
Seven anarchist revolutionaries are imprisoned in the dungeons of the bourgeois democracy at a state of absolute exclusion, facing heavy charges, forged tirades and fake witness testimonies. The chilean press has been laying for months the foundations for certain arrests, by targeting certain spaces and people. Let’s not forget that in 2009  the Basque anarchist writer and musician Asel Luzzaraga who was accused of various bombings, was sentenced to house arrest and finally deported by the chilean state. His only involvement with the aforementioned bombings was his publicly expressed solidarity to the Mapuche people, mainly through texts.
 and thats not all
The chilean state and pinochet’s dictatorship (who have found a worthy successor in the face of the current bourgeois democracy) have accomplished everything that the inkas and the spanish conquistadors have failed at. Repression, murder, trials based on fabricated tirades, social seclusion, prohibition to use their language, destruction of their social structures etc.
The draining of the Mapuche land and their displacement from grounds that they belong to, for centuries is embedded within a general framework of state strategies that aims at the eradication of every internal enemy in order to restore “national unity” and promote the application of the western “growth” paradigm free of all internal conflicts. The media have once again taken up an important role in this purge through slandering, concealing the role of their corrupted government, the multinational lumber and mining companies who have infringed the Mapuche native ground and are shamelessly preying on it, having as a result the irreversible destruction of the environment as well as the implicit action of mercenaries who have repeatedly attacked Mapuche grounds, burning occupied areas. The concealment of a text composed by 33 miners which pledged solidarity to the Mapuche people exemplifies the media’s filthy role.
The indigenous Mapuche people claim the self-evident: recursion of their land and respect to their right of self-determination. The Mapuche constitute a national liberation movement founded on a national concept different to the classic western bipolar construction of the Nation-State, since their worldview is pertinent to the concept of a stateless nation. During the last few years, this – akin to libertarian views – notion, this worldview and the social tradition of the people have established a fixed link of mutual aid between the Mapuche and the Chilean anarchist movement. There is no doubt that the Mapuche have been criminalized, trialed and sentenced for their thoughts, not for their acts.
For more than two and a half months, 35 imprisoned Mapuche are on hunger strike (most of them sentenced according to the anti-terrorist act that is easily applied even in cases of non-violent protests) demanding the cease of persecutions based on the anti-terrorist act and their self-evident right to life and preservation of their culture.

Solidarity for the Arrested Anarchists in Chile

Today we confront a pack of hounds--the police, the judiciary, the media--that seeks to annihilate us. They have created a great frame-up that they are trying to elaborate with a charge of illicit terrorist association based on our personal friendships and relations--a large vertical structure in which there are leaders, executives, and assistants. Any libertarian or anarchist knows in their heart that this is a lie.

Updates on Solidarity for the Arrested Anarchists in Chile

Stop the media circus against the 14 arrested on the 14th of August!
We put out a call to overcome the isolation and destroy this siege of disinformation.
The circus has filled the gallery--Mr. Roundup, the diminutive Peña, and the other clowns have as of today exchanged their big red noses for microphones and television cameras. The wild beasts are caged while the obedient spectator-citizens applaud with viciousness and await the next spectacle.
We are making a call-out to all individuals in or outside of this territory for international solidarity--to inform yourselves, to act, to broadcast that in this part of the world they are trying to annihilate our ideas and silence our voices. We need strength and support from any and everyone who has taken up permanent conflict against the State and capital. Now more than ever we need to demonstrate that we are not alone, that we are thousands spread across the world. We must make our rage contagious and turn solidarity into a practice and a weapon against those who would have our heads.
Release for the compañeros of 14/8 is rejected, and two are sent back to pretrial detention translation of an article published Friday, August 27 2010 on http://solidaridadporlxspresxs.blogspot.com/
On Thursday the Appellate Court of San Miguel ratified the pretrial detention of those accused in the investigation of the “bombing case,” considering them a danger to public safety.
The Fourth Court of the tribunal rejected the appeal presented by the defense for the accused, who have been held since August 18 after being formally charged with illegal association and the placing of explosive and/or incendiary devices. Said appeal consisted of rejecting preventive detention in favor of cautionary measures such as travel restrictions, weekly sign-ins, etc.
The court also revoked the release of Carlos Riveros and Camilo Perez, who had been let out after their court appearance on Tuesday the 17th. The attorney in charge of the “bombing case” and the plaintiff from the Parochial Church Inmaculada Concepción in Vitacura requested the re-imprisonment of these two compañeros.
Currently the only ones who have been released with cautionary measures are Candelaria Cortes, Diego Morales, Ivan Goldenberg and Cristian Cancino. Their restrictions consist of: prohibition on international travel, non-association with their co-accused, weekly sign-ins, and prohibition from visiting some of the compañeros in preventive detention.
There are currently 10 compañeros in preventive detention.
Pablo Morales. Rodolfo Retamales. Omar Hermosilla. Vinicio Aguilera. Francisco Solar. Felipe Guerra. Camilo Pérez. Carlos Riveros. Mónica Caballero. Andrea Urzúa.
All of the compañeros are being held in the Maximum Security wing of the High Security Jail in Santiago.
The compañeras are being held in the Special Section of High Security in the Women's Penitentiary Center.
From the underground, insurrectionalist groups on the frame-up of August 14 translation of a communique published August 26, 2010 on http://hommodolars.org for informational and cautionary purposes of those travelling to South America
We write from the underground of all of South America. Delegates from the undersigned collectives took the time to convene and send this message of truth to all of the population conscious of their oppression by the Chilean state.
1: We condemn the terrorist actions of the Chilean state, systematic during these 200 years of repression and social inequality maintained with blood and fire by each of its rotten institutions.
2: With all the strength in our insurgent blood WE REPUDIATE the spectacle of raids and detentions brought down on the popular youth on Saturday, August 14.
3: With full and complete responsibility WE DECLARE that NONE of the imprisoned belong to or have ever participated in collectives that have decided to respond with bombs to the history of state violence. This is known to us, as it is known to the government of that clown Piñera and state's attorney Peña.
4: WE ACCUSE the State, servile businesses and the press, all those who cover up the social violence that they impose and point instead to the detonation of occasional bombs that are no more than the result of inequalities and oppressions inherent to capitalism, as being directly responsible for this televised show. THE SOCIAL WAR IS IMPOSED BY THE STATE, we its victims don't invent it, on the contrary, we stop being victims and we rise up as free humans.
5: NEVER have we been present in the squatted houses. Any mildly intelligent person knows that these are cultural spaces where the youth meet to converse, debate, and to experience horizontal, communal living. If the State CRIMINALIZES these spaces it is only out of myopia and the tactical defeat of wanting to annihilate those it cannot understand. The systemic repression of everything youthful is the zenith of orthodox fascism.
6: NEVER have we been in nor made alliances with political parties or movements connected to the right, center, or left. WE NEITHER HAVE NOR RECOGNIZE AUTHORITY, not with anyone, not in the case of bureaucrats nor Marxist ex-combatants nor people with mental problems who claim actions they never carried out (like this unknown who stabbed his girlfriend and still survives in prison). WE ARE LIBERTARIANS. WE DON'T HAVE MILITARY HIERARCHIES NOR PARTY DIRECTIVES. WE ARE WARRIORS FOR FREEDOM. WE ARE EVERYONE.
7. We the undersigned collectives HAVE PLACED BOMBS. Our targets have been banks, financiers, transnational companies, embassies, police stations, barracks, churches, political parties, gyms of the owners of this country, everything that belongs to the historical oppressors of the working people. WE DO NOT REPENT, on the contrary, WE ARE PROUD that so far the police haven't even come close to us. WE ARE THEIR DEFEAT.
8. WE RECOGNIZE that the earthquake this summer affected a large part of the installations of each collective, and we admit that this has limited our actions and so far it has not been possible to reconstruct what was lost.
9: In over 20 years we have made use of different types of weapons. If we had wanted, there would have been deaths, but this is not what we wanted. The famous TNT has formed a part of the popular arsenal for years. The attack on the office of Chilectra was not the first time it was used, as all the compañeros responsible for this attack affirm here in this letter. If you want to know where we obtain it, the answer is simple: on the market, the same one they deify and the same one protected by the new state's attorney.
10. State's attorney Peña. What can we say about him. Only what everyone already knows: a cokehead since his college days, called “jalandro” by his buddies for being a jailer, possessing an inferiority complex much greater than his stature, desirous of power and of the Attorney General's chair, friend of the big drug traffickers to the detriment of the little ones he locked up, liar, coward, and potential murderer. This is state's attorney Peña. Journalists: DON'T BE AFRAID to publish the truth about this sinister bureaucrat.
11. WE DECLARE OUR COLLECTIVE REPUDIATION of the frame-up against the 14 youths. It is the State and capital that share the guilt for the libertarian bombings.

Coordinating Committee of Family Members and Friends for the Freedom of the Prisoners of August 14
After experiencing the police ambush on our own bodies and realizing, as family members and friends, that our children, siblings, and compañeras are being judged prejudicially by the media, we took the initiative to organize ourselves in order to denounce the political persecution they are subject to through a dirty media and judicial frame-up.
And even though it is being presented as a foregone conclusion that they are guilty of participating in a non-existent illegal association, which we are certain not only does not exist, but is not even judicially sustainable, we are ready to begin a battle for their freedom until the final consequences and for this reason we declare the following:
1. The legal device of illegal association, in and of itself, is incommensurate with the ideas, practices, and horizontal associative logics, free of hierarchy, with which the compañeros have proceeded during their political life. The structure that Alejandro Peña presents in his accusation, with special roles and functions, financing and infrastructure, totally contradicts the reflections sustained by prosecutors, spokespersons, and ministers for years, which we can recall in the words of ex-Minister Rossende, affirmations such as “they are groups that lack structure and act in a very precarious manner, thus it is more difficult to dismantle them, identify, detain, and punish them” (radio cooperativa, May 2009) yet in the end, thanks to the magical actions of an unscrupulous state's attorney, there exists an organizational diagram, divulged through the press and already known to everyone.
2. We take it upon ourselves to reveal, through various media, each of their lies and political interests surrounding this case. We are convinced that the media circus of the "bombing case" is just the tip of a repressive iceberg, in which our brothers and sisters are mere scapegoats, used as an example for the rest of the population of the consequences that can befall those who desire liberty and express uncomformity; in this sense, we hold that their imprisonment is a political persecution, an act of annihilation in response to the context of generalized repression and upheaval that becomes more unbearable every day.
3. The proofs they have against our brothers and sisters lack any juridical legitimacy; they are unsustainable on their own and can only make sense if they are meticulously joined with a discursive and cinematographic spectacle prepared to tie them all together, granting them a judicial meaning, apparently credible. The state's attorney's rhetoric, in complicity with the press, has created a trial whose outcome is settled even though it has not yet come to pass, and in which no one seems to remember the presumption of innocence. Historically the manipulation of information has allowed the population to be bombarded with dribble lacking in any critical questions, so that after a week of news headlines and full programs, whose journalistic mediocrity is obvious, they impose a news blackout which we are seeking to transgress in order to shout out in every way possible that this is a media frame-up and that we demand freedom for our compañeras and compañeros.
4. The violence used by the police against everyone who dares oppose the current state of things cannot be questioned in public opinion, and this we declare the real terrorism. We point to the excessive violence, the less lethal ammunition, the beatings, guns, helicopters, and the whole warlike arsenal deployed in the operations to capture people who live at a known residence and lead a public life--none of them were fugitives, nor were any of them armed when they were detained, so the military apparatus used against them can't be justified in any way. The operational excess corresponds to the spectacle that was created, and the fantasies of the state's attorney, for which we denounce the abuse of power against the 14 detainees, against the people living in the houses raided, and in particular against one person, a minor, who despite their young age was given a full dose of police violence without remorse.
In these oppressive times, we know the cost incurred by publicly demonstrating our staunch support for our brothers and sisters in prison, however, it is our responsibility to struggle for their freedom and well-being, so we are calling out for solidarity, for people to inform themselves and break through the isolation.
For an end to political persecution, and freedom for our compañeros.
For the demystification of a non-existent illegal association, for the multiplication of support.
Solidarity with the Mapuche brothers and sisters on hunger strike.

14 people were arrested and two anarchist social centers closed down in a series of raids in Santiago and Valparaiso on Saturday, August 14. http://anarchistnews.org/?q=node/11992
Sebastian Piñera, of the National Renewal party, is the current president of Chile. His party supported Pinochet at the end of the dictatorship.
On September 18, Chile is celebrating its bicentennial, which is fixing to be a huge, orchestrated show designed to create an illusion of a unified nation, blacking out a context of terrible working conditions, major struggles by the Mapuche against the anti-terrorist law and continuing colonization, by anarchists, people in the slums, and students, against neoliberalism and the state, etc.

Condo development attacked, bank sabotaged in Seattle

www.anarchistnews.org/?q=node/12133

A Bank of America's atm slots were superglued, and a nearby vacant condo development was decorated with graffiti reading:NO CONDOS, NO PRISONS, FOR CHILE (A)
An outside hose was also left running into a sliding door in order to flood the lower level.
DWELL Development tears down existing homes and replaces them with expensive "eco-friendly" condos that further the gentrification of Seattle's neighborhoods. We find it ludicrous that these condos are located mere blocks from one of the most recent sites of Nickelsville, Seattle's tent city. And, in a world of dying ecosystems, the construction of "extremely energy efficient and environmentally friendly" condos means absolutely nothing.
Bank of America is one of the three joint financial advisers (including Merrill Lynch and Barclays Int.) for GEO Group Corp. The GEO Group Corp. is a private prison firm that is paid millions by the U.S. government to detain undocumented immigrants and other prisoners. This corporation runs the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma.
We hold no illusion that these acts of sabotage will cause these corporations to financially collapse tomorrow. Instead, we attack in order to bring about a small rupture in the social fabric of our daily lives, allowing us to express our own personal rage, and knowing that to remain on the offensive is crucial to both our struggle and our spirits.
In solidarity with all prisoners,
In solidarity with our comrades facing heavy repression in Chile,
In solidarity with the victims of police violence in Seattle and everywhere,

Communique from hiding in South America concerning the frame up of August 14 in Chile

sysiphus-angrynewsfromaroundtheworld.blogspot.com/2010/08/communique-from-hiding-in-south-america.html

translated from the italian translation in culmine
Thursday, August 26, 2010

We are writing from clandestinity all over South America. We delegates of the undersigned collectives are making an effort with the times to convene to send a message of truth to all aware people oppressed by the State of Chile.

1 - We condemn the terrorist way of acting of the State of Chile over the past 200 years of systematic repression and social inequality maintained by blood and fire by each of its rotting institutions.
2 - With the full force of our insurgent people we REJECT the performance of searches and arrests that plagued the young people on Saturday, August 14.
3 - With total absolute responsibility we hereby WE DECLARE that ALL those arrested do not belong to, nor have they ever been part of, the collectives that have decided to respond to historic State violence with bombs. We know this and the government of the clown Piñera and Attorney Peña also know it.
4 – WE ACCUSE, as directly responsible for this TV show, the State, the bosses and the fawning press, they have all hidden the social violence that they have imposed, pointing the finger at the occasional bomb explosions that are simply the outcome of the inequalities and oppression of this snob capitalism. THE STATE IMPOSES THE SOCIAL WAR, we did not invent it, we who are its victims. We, on the contrary, have stopped being victims and have risen up as free human beings.
5 – WE HAVE NEVER BEEN in the Occupied houses. Any person of normal intelligence knows that those are cultural spaces in which young people meet to converse, debate, and hope to live at community level. If the state CRIMINALISES these places is only due to pure myopia and implicit defeat in wanting to destroy anything they cannot understand. The systematic indiscriminate repression of the young is the zenith of the orthodox fascist.
6 – WE HAVE NEVER SUBMITTED TO nor have we entered into alliances with political parties or movements related to the right, centre or left. WE NEITHER HAVE NOR DO WE RECOGNISE the authority of anyone, either bureaucrats or marxist ex-combatants nor people with mental problems that claim actions that they never carried out (like this stranger who stabbed his girlfriend and still survives in prison). WE ARE libertarians. WE DO NOT HAVE MILITARY HIERARCHIES OR PARTY DIRECTIVES. WE ARE FREEDOM FIGHTERS. WE ARE EVERYONE.
7 - We, the undersigned collective, WE HAVE PLACED BOMBS. Our objectives were: banks, financial corporations, embassies, police stations, barracks, churches, political parties, gyms of the lords of this country, everything that belongs to the historical oppressors of the working people. WE DO NOT REPENT, moreover IT IS OUR PRIDE, as is the fact that so far no police have approached us. WE ARE THEIR DEFEAT.
8 – WE REALISE that the summer earthquake struck most of the structures of all the collectives, that limited our actions and so far it has not been possible to rebuild what was lost.
9 - In these over 20 years we have been using different types of weapons. If we had wanted we could have caused fatalities. The famous TNT has been a part of the popular arsenal for a number of years. The office of Chilectra attack was not the first time that we have used it, all the comrades responsible for this attack confirm so here. If you want to know where we got it the answer is simple: from the market, the same that you idolize and the new prosecutor protects. (In the investigations the Chilean military intelligence are looking into the actions carried out with the explosive TNT, - NDT).
10 - The Prosecutor Peña. What can we say about him. What everybody knows : that he was a cocaine addict as a student, called “jalandro” by his neighbors for being jalero, with a greater sense of inferiority than his stature, hungry for power and for the chair of national Attorney, a friend of big drugs traffickers at the expense of the small ones that he arrested, liar, coward and potential murderer. This is Attorney Peña. Journalists: DO NOT BE AFRAID to know the truth about this sinister bureaucrat.
11 – WE DECLARE OUR COLLECTIVE REPUDIATION of the frame-up against the 14 young people. Those guilty of the libertarian bombings are the State and capital.

Tinkunazo Solidario in spanish sorry no english this time...

The hegemony of power came on the scene on August 14, around 7 am, when agents of the GOPE enetered the place where I live or lived, the squatted house "La Crota", destroying the gate of our library, the CDAI (Centro de Documentación Anarquista Itinerant) by linking it to a machine and pulling it away. Hearing the noise I just made it in time to go into the courtyard where police, armed to the teeth and with their characteristic arrogance, blocked me.
Later I was taken to a room where they read out the accusations for which I continue to be held. During the same procedure my hands were submitted to an examination, in search for traces of explosives. This examination was carried out without my knowing anything without anything being explained: a huge mistake on my part. The same examination was made against two other people who were in my beloved home: Vinicio Aguilera and Diego Morales, and is the only evidence that they have to accuse them. I tried to greet my fellow humans, canines and felines. One of my 4-legged comrades never stopped barking at the police. He never moved away from us. I stroked him and headed toward the front of the house, Biblioteka (CDAI), which was destroyed like a classic postcard of the totalitarian regimes. At that moment I was handcuffed, handcuffs that were my company for several hours on several occasions. In coming out from my beloved place, that the prosecutor would have described as "power centre", the press try to snap the perfect photo of the "bombers". They just received our deepest contempt. With my head never bowed I took the opportunity to shout slogans for the Mapuche prisoners, those who are currently on hunger strike. In the police car I was able to pick up on what news was being spread.
When I reached 33 ° Commissariat I found several others in my same situation and more who were continuing to arrive. There are 14 of us. The courtroom hearings for the control of the generalities was full of comrades, friends, affini, relatives, brothers, who like us felt uncertainty. Illicit terrorist association and placing of explosive devices are the accusations against us. The formalization will be Tuesday. In coming out of the courtroom we managed to hear cries full of rage and anger from our people. Cries that deeply moved us and gave us strength for what was to come. We are not alone! Your actions and your attitude fills me with pride! Waiting until the formalization of the charges was eternal. Isolated, without any news, and not even a pencil. When the day arrived after Power had tried to leave us as long as possible in prison, through bars and handcuffs we managed to touch the hands of our comrades and shout a few words. During the hearing only one family member was allowed entry for each accused. The Church has associated with the Fiscalía Sur (the prosecution - NDT) and the Ministry of the Interior. The Prosecutor Alejandro Peña began with eloquence to expose the foundations of the Illicit Terrorist Association (which only exists in his head). According to him, the organization is informal, democratic and horizontal. At least this definition made us smile. So many years of investigation for such a complicated resolution?
What a precarious mentality for such honourable officials. Then, they continue with the evidence for each defendant: items such as books, photographs, written words, phone tapping, computers, pens, videos, posters and probably this same statement will be at the root of our dangerousness. As if the circus was not enough already, in a gesture both Machiavellian and morbid the respected attorney shows photos of Mauricio Morales who died after the explosion of the device destined for the school for prison screws in May 2009. He tried to wound us, but has only fueled our hatred.
A great element of proof would be the declaration of Gustavo Fuentes Aliaga, alias "El Grillo" narco-trafficker who on 31 December 2008 stabbed the comrade Candelaria Cortez-Monroy seven times. The court ordered 180 days of investigation.
But already we are no longer 14, but 8. 6 comrades remain kidnapped in the cells of capital. A strong hug to them. Four judges and years of investigations were not enough to find new items to mount an artifice of such proportions, leaving us in prison like this.
Currently I'm in SEAS (High Security Section) of the CPF (Female Penitentiary Centre) of Santiago. I shall continue with my vegan diet. The struggle against domination does not compromise up until the final consequences.
Proud of what I am and of my comrades, I embrace every act of solidarity and rebellion. They will not silence me. No more than the individual can and must fight for their freedom, nothing can move them but their heart.
May the wilderness protect the dear felines running on the rooftops and may a night of black auspices never come.
To everyone today and always: "Neither God nor master"
With a heart in pieces, but beating stronger than ever!!
By putting an end to all exercise of authority and power, make anarchy live.

Chile - Comunique from prison of arrested comrade Andrea Urzua

sysiphus-angrynewsfromaroundtheworld.blogspot.com/

translated from culmine with anger, love and solidarity

24/08/2010 - Comrades, friends, brothers, family,
A week has passed since the aggressor of women, the honourable Attorney Peña's, media show, (an allusion to a domestic violence complaint concerning the Chilean Marini - NDT). These have been hard days, far from my family, seeing a science fiction show on TV legitimised by audiences who have only shown how inefficient, ridiculous and barely credible the justice of the rich is.
It all started Saturday, August 14, at 6.50 am. While I was sleeping with my companion and my little daughter I heard a noise that made me think of an earthquake. But no, they were agents of the GOPE that ... were searching the place where I live. It was all very violent, while they were beating, blocking and handcuffing my companion I and my little one had weapons turned on us. A lot of shouting, excited police told us: "quiet, collaborate ... don't move, don't talk ... don't make it difficult" ... in those long seconds I thought I might be killed by those wretches with the little one in my arms ... we didn't understand what it was about ... we asked them to calm down, to show us the search warrant, what were the accusations ...
There was no reason for all the fuss ... we asked them not to aim their weapons as I was with my baby ... we tried once blocked, to calm them down and get them to explain to us what was happening ... a cop appeared, like the others, armed to the teeth, asking me my name, when I tell them who I am he looks satisfied to know ... everything was very stupid, they knew perfectly well that I lived there, knew where I work, the places I frequent, I saw them, they were too obvious ... about two months ago an RP came asking for me to my in-laws' house (where I live) with the excuse that I was a 'victim of VIF', it was obvious that the persecution that had gone on for years had not ended, that strange visit was intended merely to confirm my address. I do not want to present myself as a victim, but nothing can explain the violence of pointing a gun against an 11 month old baby girl, this action is at best despicable and without justification. At 7:45 in comes the Captain ... the one who was in charge of the searches and arrests. Only then did things calm down a bit ... forensic police in white overalls shut themselves in the bedroom where I sleep with my family (a room which, like the rest of the house was searched more than 6 times) they took away books, the computer, our telephones and an infinite number of things that really I do not understand what function they could have in “Operacion SALAMANDRA”. While they were searching every room of the house they were filming us, taking photos ... the captain tells me that my arrest is part of the investigations carried out by the comedian Attorney Peña, the famous Bombas case, investigations going on for four years, with four successive prosecutors, with arrests that led nowhere, that rely exclusively on the declaration of a schizophrenic, narco-trafficker and woman beater called Gustavo Fuentes Aliaga, alias "El Grillo". The accusations against me are: "transport of explosives and illicit terrorist association".
Between 9:30 and 10 they transferred me to 33 ° commissariat where I am "genteelly" received by a high-ranking policeman (without identification) who shouting asks me my name and threatens me with: "Now you'll see that this is not a game" ... the situation started to get heavy when I see "my friends" there too ... the press ... the jubilant cops ... the truth is, the situation was too much ... they try to subject my hand to an examination for signs of explosives, but I refuse because there was no lawyer present ... the show went on, other reporters, other cops, other people ... We are moved (in that place we were already 10) to the control of the arrests. There both the prosecutor and the Ministry of the Interior appear as complainants, for a judge there is donna Alejandra Apablaza who not only did not take our concerns into account, but left the investigations open until Tuesday 17.
I am taken to the high security section of the CPF (central Female Penitentiary) of Santiago, isolated from the other prisoners. On Tuesday, at the hearing for the validation of the arrests, the Catholic church associated itself as a complainant, after the preparation of the police programme that Peña had prepared shows us the "evidence" with which we are accused of illicit terrorist association. Telephone conversations that say nothing compared to the usual calls you can have between friends, videos that can be found on the Internet (made from TV programmes), leaflets, posters ... all public things in anyone's possession. They say we are an illegal association that has an "informal, horizontal and democratic" structure. That the leaders are Pablo and Garza. All the others, we would have a horizontal position, without intermediate leaders or any other position. It is said that our goal is the elimination of capital, the bourgeoisie, the church and any kind of power ... all with only 300 Chilean pesos.

The picture of the body of Punky Mauri after the explosion was shown to us in a Machiavellian sadistic way... and so on without any logic but to arrest us, trying to close the space of solidarity with political prisoners, counter-cultural spaces ( some of them defined by the prosecutor as "power centres") and all that is against the government, the system and power. I always thought that with the rise to power of Piñera all those against the fascist government of the bosses would be struck, but I never imagined that this would happen with such stupid, vulgar tricks. In fact the evidence is so rude and crude that it would not surprise me if this letter was seen as another proof against me. There are many things in my head, there are many ideas, so much anger and so much love ... kidnapping is the word I have in mind, I am another who has been kidnapped ... they are keeping me away from my family and friends only for being what I am: one that is convinced of the idea, an ironclad solidarity, one that thinks, one that criticises ... actually, as I once read: "Solidarity is a powerful weapon" and it is obvious that they fear it. When I got to know the struggle I fell in love with her. You can speak of madness, but it is my beautiful madness ... I struggle for emancipation, I love freedom with my whole being, with all my strength ...
Now it remains only (for the time being) send you much newen (strength in Mapuche language - NDT) thanking you for each one of the demonstrations of affection and support. I ask you to keep your eyes open, because it does not end here, that's obvious. A strong, close and fraternal embrace to each one of you.

ONLY THOSE WHO STRUGGLE LIVE, AND WE ARE MORE ALIVE THAN EVER!!! (I have heard this in these parts)

INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY with the 14 kidnapped by the Chilean ’democracy’.

libertadalos14a.blogspot.com/ Libertad a lxs 14·A
Welcome to Chile, society of jails and jailers.
This past Saturday the 14th of August, in the cities of Santiago and Valparaíso, an action coordinated by police of all types (special task forces) violently raided three squatted social centers and many private homes in fives communes. The police intimidated people with weapons of war, broke windows and doors, and took many personal items with them from all of the houses.
14 people were detained being informed of the reason for their detention for three hours.
Later? Six people were released on probation for lack of evidence against them. As for the people that remained imprisoned, they were put in isolation cells in maximum security jails where they were awaiting a 180 day long investigation process and potentially a 20 year sentence for alleged illegal terrorist association. They have alleged that these people were involved in making and blowing up the bombs that have erupted lately in the capital. According to the prosecutor, this association was a hierarchical organization directed by key ringleaders.
This supposition is in absolute contradiction with anarchist ideology - most of the kidnapped people have been labeled as anarchists- which is opposed to the concepts of “leaders” and “hierarchies”…
Furthermore, this charade, a perfect outcome for the puppeteers and jailers who desire to keep their power. Above all, this has been the result of those citizens, who like their peace so much and through their deafness and silence, are helping to erase the oppressed, the masquerades, jails, and resignations.....
"The bombs case" is the title that keeps appearing in the headlines of the newspapers like a bad novel, in which the main characters, the Minister/Secretary of the Interior, the prosecutor and his police henchmen are trying to catch the ’undesirable’ anarchists. The beginning of the ’bombs case’ is a police persecutions saga that dates back to the 10th of September, the eve of a historic date in Chile, on which people mourn their dead and disappeared ones from the dictatorship, while others display their discontent with the falseness of a democracy that has not changed much from a dictatorship.
In this context, a molotov bomb was thrown at the house of the government. The images went around the world; the symbol of the concord of democratic parties was blown into pieces; the fraternal unifying factor of the left has been altered. Two weeks later, a vast police contingent raided the squat "la mansión siniestra" and arrested 6 people, who, to their own surprise had become, thanks to the distorting role of the press, an illegal association of "molotov bombs makers", "violent criminals", "vandals". This scenario is the one that the 14 accused comrades were facing.
Back then, the police never thought that evidence was necessary, because the things they seized as alleged bomb making materials were no more than common domestic utensils. These molotovs never existed. During the judiciary process, the 6 antagonists of this story were allegedly the worst moral aberrations; public opinion has given legitimacy to the sentence of up to five years in jail … But OOPS...’mistake’! The accusations were fake, the police’s masquerade had been revealed. Finally, these 6 people did not serve the time they were sentenced. But that’s only after spending 11 days in a high security prison. Just as expected, no institution was held accountable for the irreversible physical and psychological punishments and damages inflicted on the detainees, nor for the personal belongings that were seized from their them and their comrades.
Four years have gone by since this incident, and with its passing, the travesty of justice, the inequalities and the repressions remain the order of the day.
Only to talk about JUST A FEW concrete examples:
According to the survey of "national socio-economic characterization" (CASEN) the economic gap has increased from 13% to 15% since 2006. Meanwhile the administration of the government wants to spend 135 thousand millions of pesos to build, starting this year, 10 new prisons, which would add to the total of more than 16,500 new vacancies in the prison system. It is important to note, according to the sources of the mideplan, that 64% of the prison population are illiterate or have not finished their basic studies and are the poorest and the most marginalized people in Chilean society. This illustrates that the interest of the system is to imprison the most marginal instead of educating them and providing them with the tools for a better life.
These prisons need jailers…
The alliance of ’democratic’ parties was in charge of the government for a decade after the dictatorship, killing 42 people, and helping, instead of changing, the development of the ’political constitution of Chile’ that was created by the dictatorship, strengthening it with reforms and continuing with its tradition of criminalizing social movements and perfecting the Anti-terrorism Law. One of the modifications to the Anti-Terrorism Law was to give policemen a status of ’witnesses of faith’, whereby they frequently do not have to present concrete evidence against the accused, which gives the legal support to the masquerade/ setups for those who represent a threat to the system. Among other barbarities, now in 2010, the turn of the ’coalition for change’ with Sebastian Piñera in power. This regime is pro-dictatorship and a huge collaborator with the establishment of the neoliberal model. Let’s not forget that he was also the one that gave the Chileans the opportunity of having credit cards to live working in order to pay their debts. But above all, nowadays M. Piñera is famous for his campaign ’the Battle against Delinquency’, in which he shows us his support for a policy of more ’security’, in other words, and to be less moderate with the term, jailers that secure the power of their friends the businessmen and capitalists. To make sure that things proceed smoothly, the president will reinforce the repression against historically repressed populations, increasing police personnel to 15000 carabineros and increasing the salaries of civilian police, who have had in the last few months their salaries increased by 18%.
This is how, the ’Battle against Delinquency’, is an exemplary example that shows how the inefficacy of the alliance of political parties has erupted tragically in our lives. Today we become its scapegoats, displayed like pariahs in an outlandish play, in order to legitimize their ventures and win ’moral sympathies’ among the spectators and the right. In this hunt to cover up facts, which have been intentionally invisible in the media, the hunger strike of 32 Mapuche political prisoners, who fight the adversity of Chilean justice and demand their natural rights, is being hidden. Or another omission, the use of cheap, insufficient equipment to attempt the ’rescue’ of 33 miners trapped only a few days earlier this week.
Today, these 14 comrades, among them, anarchists, communicators and social fighters, show solidarity to unjust causes, are involved in open squatted social centers where they sustain libraries, video libraries, gardens, and people who exchange and question ideas and actions in forums and activities conducted in a horizontal manner. These people are automatically criminalized; prosecutors have enough ambiguous evidence to take their freedom away from them. For example, a tapped telephone call where a mother demanded that one of the accused people be taken care of; this was used as evidence against her. The open squatted spaces and the people who are committed to denouncing and transforming on a daily basis their own lives and their society have become more vulnerable to the apprehensions of the state and its prosecutions, which illustrates that this prosecution is also ideological.
Now...Who are the terrorists? .
We make a call to build an international support network for the people imprisoned on the 14th of August. Today more than ever! Internationalists of the world to solidarity and action, to face the kidnappings and lies of the Chilean state!.

Chile – Comunique from prison from Rodolfo el Garza Retamales

Chile - Communique from prison of Rodolfo Garza el Retamales
On 14 August, at 6:40am, my house was raided by police of the Dipolcar along with the Gope, in search of evidence and accusing me of being the leader of an illicit terrorist association, the warrant signed by the prosecutor investigating the 'caso bomba'.
With the passing of hours, and after being beaten by police of the Dipolcar and officer Segis Sostomo of the RP 3239 of the 30th police station, I learned that even my parents' house has been subjected to raids, as well as three social centres and 12 houses of comrades in different municipalities between Santiago and Valparaiso, with the balance of 14 arrests, all accused of being part of an anarchist cell with two leaders, two financers and 10 operative members, all in the sinister imagination of the prosecutor Peña. Even before the formalization of the charges we males were transferred to C.A.S. maximum security prison and the women to Centro de Orientation Femenina, all placed in isolation.
Tuesday 17 a hearing took place to formalize the situation and there we were able to hear the evidence against us: phone tapping, photos, videos, examined clothing and a surprise.
This turned out to be a character known as El Grillo, who has collaborated and has offered himself to the prosecution as a witness, pointing in his confessions to some people -who have been arrested – who according to him are responsible for a number of acts of sabotage.
For those who do not know, this character was arrested Dec. 31, 2008 for attempting to murder his wife, Candelaria, today accused of illicit terrorist association. At the time of arrest Fuentes, alias el grillo [the cricket], told prosecutor Armendariz, that he, along with Candelaria and another three persons, had made and placed bombs and that he knew those who carried out the acts of sabotage, in an obvious attempt to clean his image and pass himself off as a major player in the social struggle.
At the hearing the hours passed, 15 in total, and we learned a vast amount of false prosecution arguments that contradicted themselves, provoking a smile from even the jailers throughout the media show. Despite the substantial amount of arguments presented by defense lawyers, who de-legitimized the prosecution evidence demonstrating the inconsistencies, the pressure of the Government through the Ministry of Interior could be felt.
In the end, 8 out of 14 of us remain in prison. Power has played all his cards and its sinister attorney-star could not be seen in a bad light in front of the public.
Now once again I find myself going along these corridors full of young people who fill the walls of the Chilean prisons, because it is for them that they were built to accommodate and conceal the social injustice, poverty and inequality of this system where the rich get richer and the poor content themselves with the crumbs that the bosses bestow on them.
From listening to the radio today to which I belong, I thank and appreciate the support they have given me since the first day of my arrest. You will be under fire, from here all my support and my strength. A kiss to each one of you ... to all the programs we hear, to the glorious people of La Victoria and its neighbours, a kiss to my son and all those who have shown solidarity with affection. /sysiphus-angrynewsfromaroundtheworld.blogspot.com/2010/08/chile-comunique-from-prison-from.html

Bomb Goes Off at Chile Shopping Mall, No One Hurt

August 20th, 2010
undefined
SANTIAGO – No one was injured Thursday when a homemade bomb went off in the underground garage at a shopping mall in the Chilean capital, police said.
Three other bombs were found and defused, according to a report from the Carabineros, Chile’s militarized national police.
Left at the scene were leaflets referring to special prosecutor Alejandro Peña’s case against 15 anarchists accused of carrying out more than a score of bombings over the past few years.
A court in Santiago ordered Tuesday that eight of the 15 suspects in that case be held pending trial.
Six other defendants were allowed to remain at liberty, but ordered not to leave the country and to stay away from each other. The 15th suspect, Gustavo Fuentes Aliaga, is already in jail in connection with other offenses.
The court gave prosecutors 180 days to complete the investigation of the 23 bombings covered by the indictments.
The attacks targeted banks, the offices of foreign companies, embassies, churches and police stations, mainly in Santiago. The sole fatality was an anarchist killed when a bomb exploded as he was transporting it on a bicycle. EFE

Santiago, Chile - 25 anarchists arrested before comrades appear in court

laht

SANTIAGO – At least 25 people were arrested on Tuesday before the first court appearance of 15 suspects in a series of bombings in Santiago and other cities in Chile, police said.
The protesters, the majority of them fellow anarchists, were arrested for damaging public property and disturbing the peace.
Fourteen of the suspected anarchists appearing at the hearing were arrested last weekend in operations in Santiago and Valparaiso that included searches of squatter settlements in the capital and residences. The 15th defendant is an anarchist already serving prison time for previous offenses.
The courthouse in Santiago was surrounded early in the day by three security rings manned by about 150 police officers equipped with water cannons and tear gas. The security perimeter was extended to a nearby Metro station, where a checkpoint was set up to check the identification of people using the facility.
The tight security for the hearing, allowing only one relative of each of the suspects to be present, as well as only one reporter from each news outlet, caused a delay of more than one hour in the start of the proceedings.
Special prosecutor Alejandro Peña, who is in charge of the case, ordered last Saturday’s operations after investigating the attacks for several months.
Physical evidence, such as traces of explosives on the skin and clothing of some of the defendants, links the suspects to the bombings, prosecutor Marcos Emilfort, who is working with Peña, said Tuesday.
Rodolfo Retamales and Pablo Morales, two former members of the leftist Grupo Lautaro that fought the 1973-1990 military dictatorship of Gen. Augusto Pinochet, are among the suspects in the case. Retamales and Morales spent more than 12 years in prison for crimes committed after the restoration of democracy. The press has identified the two men as the masterminds behind the series of bombings that killed one person, an anarchist who was carrying a bomb on a bicycle in Santiago last year. The bombings targeted banks, the offices of foreign companies, embassies, churches and police stations in Santiago and other cities. Retamales’s lawyer, Alberto Espinoza, criticized the extensive media coverage of his client, saying that it “weakens the right to a defense a lot.” EFE

Repressive strike in Chile. Solidarity now!

/sysiphus-angrynewsfromaroundtheworld.blogspot.com/2010/08/agents-of-bipe-police-of-investigation.html
culmine
Agents of the BIPE (Police of Investigation) and the ERTA (equivalent to the SWAT) on the other side agents of the GOPE (Especial forces of the Normal Police), LABOCAR (CSI) and the department of intelligence of the police and a series of helicopters and police cars was the armoury used by the police for the 17 raids, in Santiago and Valparaiso, at dawn on Saturday August 14. Among the 17 houses were 3 Squats and Social Centres, the squats being La Crota Bike Punk and the Squat Social Centre and the Sacco and Vanzetti Library in downtown Santiago and the Autonomous Social Centre Johny Cariqueo in the Pudahuel municipality. Two houses were raided in Valparaiso. The excuse for this police operation lies in the “Bomb Case”, and 23 of the attacks with explosives registered in Santiago, which according to the police version would have direct links with the arrested. The first raid was in the squat La Crota Bike Punk by the GOPE where the result was 6 companions arrested. Of the six held three were kidnapped, a female comrade with an arrest warrant and for the other two the police invented traces of TNT on their hands. Then was the turn of the SSC and the Sacco and Vanzetti Library, by the ERTA and the BIPE, wheothey took out the metalic grid of the window with a police car. The agents also carried out shootings with rubber bullets, hitting the body of two companions. From this space were arrested 5 companions one of whom remain kidnapped.
At the same time the Libertarian Library Johnny Cariqueo was raided in the Pudahuel municipality, in this space the police breaking in smashing access doors and no one was arrested. The police also raided 14 houses, 12 in Santiago and 2 in Valparaiso.
With a total of 17 raids realized by the defenders of order and 14 companions kidnapped.
Formalization of the hostages.
This Saturday around 16:00 pm the companions where brought before the 11º Santiago Court Guarantee where the southern prosecution request extended their detention until next Tuesday, 17 August, where they would be charged with "installation of explosive or incendiary devices and terrorist conspiracy" (law made by Pinochet), a request which the Ministry of Interior would also make, risking 20 years. During the hearing, once again the circus nature of the Chilean courts was demonstrated. Judge Lidia Bruna agreed to each and every one of the requests of the Prosecutor and the Ministry of Interior (press presence, extending the period of detention for three days, isolation of the companions among themselves and from the outside, and also the order to bring the police collaborator Gustavo Fuentes "El Grillo" to the audience next tuesday, to formalize with the rest of the alleged members of this "terrorist conspiracy." The vultures of the bourgeois press were all in the courtroom and fired their flashes once the judge gave the signal for the guards to bring in the companions.
The arguments of the defence were heard and denied one after another. The judge had everything ready for each resolution automatically read it with her voice of old bitch from a paper on her desk. When they ask to a companion if they had anything to say in relation to detention, he said he had been repeatedly been threatened with death, and she responds “that’s all?”. Neither did the story about the destruction of particular houses of the companions seem to attract much attention. The Prosecution justify the injuries cause by the police to a companion of the Sacco and Vanzetti (a rubber bullet his head and he was kicked on the nose) in the fact he would have been looking out of a window of the building throwing things and destroying evidence, thing that the companion denied this version immediately calling it “Imaginative”, was reprimanded for showing disrespect to the prosecutors. So beating and threatening people with death and unnecessarily smashing into houses is part of the norm that judges uphold, but any questioning of the repressive apparatus cannot take place in this circus. This lady continued with the same attitude when the defense counsel talked about an "orchestration" between the different media to blame our comrades.
When it became clear that the show was already coming to an end on Tuesday at 9:00pm, they began to hear the cheers of support, very welcomed by the spirits of our companions. Banners spread outside the courtroom, songs of support were sung ("Free the prisoners to fight"), the expression of the old fascist lady was that of disgust and horror, some bodyguards immediately surrounded the prosecutor Alejandro Peña.
After wrangling between those who went to support our comrades with two types of police dogs (police and press), the fascist judge made another for the 14 comrades to be taken inside and then, from the cells area, came a contingent of furious policemen armed with sticks and shields, that flew over the benches of defendants and lawyers with the clear intention of beating up friends and relatives of the detainees.
Of course, the bourgeois press has noted that all the comrades who came to support, well as the accused, attacked the press and other guardians of the capitalist order, but the truth is that the aggression came from the guards, while police and journalists beat many people savagely, and outside the enclosure were joined by riot police launching a manhunt that was not intended to arrest anyone but to punish directly. The companion Luisa Vergara had a traumatic brain injury, the mother of one of the detainees had minor injuries caused by a fucking journalist, and luckily most of the windows of this temple of shit (the court) were destroyed to be used against the officers.
Also, several journalists were beaten and their cameras damaged. No companion was arrested but many were beaten by the agents. Once outside the courts the companions found out that the SSC and Library Sacco and Vanzetti was being closed by a joint operation by the two police deparments. During the afternoon, the building had been guarded by a truck from the PDI (Police Of Investigation), whose occupants at first denied entry to a group of companions, but later agreed to let them in and take some things, warning that there was an order not to let the building be reoccupied. Hours later, at about 18:30, police hentered the squat and were carrying out work to close all access. The Library and all the other things that were not seized (this time they took little in the raid) remained sequestered there. The police did not exhibit any eviction order or anything, and said it was orders of the prosecutor. They also said the squat would be recovered by their legitimate owners, the ISP (Internal Revenue Service). A quick operation that took them by surprise yielded a number of books that were put to safety, sparking a short police chase in the area without anyone being arrested. The Kidnapped Companions are:
-Pablo Morales: Ex-Lautarista (A military political organization that operates in Chile at the end of the dictatorship and the beginning of democracy). Arrested at his house in Santiago.-Rodolfo Retamales: Ex-Lautarista. Arrested at his house in Santiago. Also was raided their parent’s house.-Omar Hermosilla: Ex-Lautarista. Arrested at his house in Santiago.-Andrea Urzùa: In 2008 the police say that and Marcelo Villarroel (companions in trail for a bank robbery) were held. Arrested at his house in Santiago-Felipe Guerra: Arrested in SSC and Library Sacco and Vanzetti. Also was raided his mother’s house. The companion was injured by agents of the ERTA.-Cristian Cancino: He was arrested in the squat “La Idea” after the death of Mauricio Morales (comrade killed by his own bomb on May 22, 2009), where the police charged him with almost 500 grams of black gunpowder. Cristian decided to assume his guilt in a short trail to get out of jail.-Carlos Riveros: Arrested at his house in Santiago.-Camilo Perez: Arrested at his house in Santiago.-Ivan Goldenberg: Arrested at his house in Valparaiso. Police say the gun that Mauricio Morales was carryingat the time of his death, was owned by the grandfather of Ivan.-Candelaria Cortès-Monroy: Arrested at his house in Santiago. Candelaria in 2008 was stabbed by Gustavo Fuentes aka "El Grillo" who was his partner and who is accused of placing bombs.-Francisco Solar: Arrested at his house in Valparaiso.-Monica Caballero: Arrested at the squat “La Crota”.-Diego Morales: Arrested at the squat “La Crota”. The police invented that Diego has in his hands traces of TNT.-Vinicio Aguilera: Arrested at the squat “La Crota”. The police inveted that Vinicio also has in his hands traces of TNT.

Bomb house: arraignment of the 15 defendants in the midst of extreme security

August 17

Amid tight security and great expectations in journalism, was held yesterday the formalization of the 14 people arrested during the weekend accused of links to anarchist groups and the planting of bombs in different parts of Santiago, as well as Gustavo Fuentes Aliaga , alias “El Grillo”, who was taken into custody for other crimes.
At the request of the President of the Court of Appeals of Santiago, Juan Manuel Muñoz Pardo, and the Public Ministry, was made a ring of security on campus and three blocks of it, which included a helicopter, cars and water cannons Lanzaga plus 150 police officers from different units.
At the time, the Ministry of Interior decided to bring suit against 15 individuals accused.
In this instance, at the Centre of Justice, was also known that during four years of investigation the police conducted 60 000 wiretaps, some of which will be presented at this conference.
It was the same chief prosecutor of the Southern Zone, Alejandro Pena, who formalized individuals for terrorist conspiracy from July 2005 and the bombings that hit the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), the Church of the Sacrament, the State Defense Council (CDE), the branch of Chilectra at La Cisterna, in Atal Cars and the School of Gendarmerie.
As noted, defendants are investigated for a total of 23 bombings that have occurred in Santiago.  Also were accused leaders of the organization Fuhrimann and Rodolfo Morales Pablo Retamal Leiva, while the rest of the group is divided between facilitators and media partners for the realization of the attacks.
All the detainees said they did not understand any aspect of the formalization of objections by the prosecutor, as his lawyer, Alberto Espinoza said that this runs counter to the right of defense of its representatives and requested the annulment of the procedure that, for now, is estimated to last about six hours.
In the lengthy meeting, the chief prosecutor of the Southern Zone, Alejandro Peña, called for the detention of all defendants, which concluded for the crimes of terrorist conspiracy and explosive devices.
17 videos and traces of TNT
The Public Prosecutor’s representative delivered a series of backgrounds of expertise made after massive raids on 14 August.  Among these mentioned that police found traces of black powder and TNT in the clothes of some of the detainees, and found videos of 17 bomb attacks in Santiago.
She said that the films were in the hands of Felipe Guerra arrested and were found in the squatted house  Sacco and Vanzetti, on Calle Santo Domingo, almost reaching Bulnes.
The man is accused of having participated in the attack that killed the anarchist Mauricio Morales, opposite the Gendarmerie School.  He was found with photographs of the facility that were taken before the attack, which demonstrates his trial attorney’s performance at the event.
The prosecutor further noted that the raid was found documents prove that the anarchist group received financing from abroad, but did not specify what form they took the papers.
Wiretapping and submitted during the hearing of formal charges against those arrested for the bombings case, show evidence of the direct link between a former official of the Metropolitan and Rodolfo Quartermaster Retamales, accused of being one of the leaders of the anarchist organization.
Carola is Lizárraga, who intercepted a call in cell Retamales asked to meet with him to report “one thing I told you and I need to tell”, to which he replied that they are in the Calle Bandera.
According to the prosecutor in charge of the case, Alejandro Pena, the link between them is a sign that the woman was paying collaboration on the subject, but did not say whether an investigation will begin to clarify this link.
According to police sources, 41 detainees left the clashes between police and nearly 15 defendants in the vicinity of the Justice Center where he developed the vast audience of formalization.

At the request of the Chilean authorities, the BND help to identify Italian who sent money to campaigners.

The Bundesnachrichtendienst or German Federal Research Service (BND) is following in the footsteps of Matthew Rossi’s Italian citizen, suspected of having sent money to Chilean anarchist groups involved in the placement of explosive devices.
The collaboration of the Germanic body is made on the basis of a request for Chilean authorities under the government case against 14 suspected members of the network involved in the attacks. According to reports, the petition alleges that the BND has large databases of European anarchists and the Italian suspect had lived in Germany.
After lifting bank secrecy in the investigation, the Attorney South Metropolitan gained access to an account in the name of former Lautaro Omar Hermosilla, aka “Mouse”, one of the anarchists arrested during the weekend.
Thus it was established that the former had received a subversive euro transfer from an account in Switzerland for $ 712 000. El dinero, según sostiene la fiscalía, era para incrementar la intensidad de los atentados explosivos. The money, as argued by the prosecution, was to increase the intensity of the bombings.
For this situation, two people are in custody.
One is Omar himself Hermosilla.  The other alleged anarchist Carlos Riveros Lüttge, known as “Carlangas.”
The name of the latter came to the research through an informant for the National Police Intelligence Chief (Jipol) of the PDI.  The aide would have had access to the communications network of suspects and revealed that there was an email received by Riveros in which he detailed alleged Italian citizen and that this transfer was to be deposited in the bank account of former subversive. According to data released yesterday in concluding, “Carlangas” requested the money to assume a “more radical”.
So far there are two theories about the identity of Italian: Matthew Rossi is his real name or is a forgery.
if the first is the case, one would have established that the alien was in Chile in 2008 and met with local anarchist collective. The police have a history that Rossi was born in Piedmont, northwest Italy and it would be a known anti-system activist.
However, research data exist to suggest that this could be a false identity used by an activist to avoid being recognized. The verification of the suspect’s real identity is the focus of the collaboration by the German intelligence service requested by representatives of the Chilean government.
Yesterday was unaware of the existence of a letter found in possession of one of the detainees, Felipe Guerra. The message referred to a sum of money was coming from Italy and emphasized: “Very important is no word of this to anyone, . Faced with a possible arrest, say nothing.”  It is possible that the prosecution request to interrogate the suspect abroad through an international warrant, or even come to seek his extradition for funding terrorist groups.

25 Protesters Arrested Before Bomb Suspects’ Hearing in Chile

undefined
