Responsibility claim for the arson attack of a restaurant in thessaloniki greece on 1 octomber

Wild times we are living.
Times of war.
Here where hesitation and neutrality does not fit,
Where cowards have no place,
Here where every desire which clashes with the values of this world, meets those who have as a task its suppression.
Those who even their existence, humiliates every dignity, supervises compromise.
Here where choices are not defined as such,
maybe because there is not the strength to carry their cost.
And if the side of revolution recognizes this cost,
Its time the other side felt it under its skin.

From the plain traffic cop coordinating traffic, until the last, useless pigriotcopinforcer of order. From the wimpy office cop, to the slimy undercover, EYP cop (greek c.i.a.) snitch. From the freshmen cadet, until macho motherfucker EKAM (special forces) cop.
With all means, everywhere and always.
From the kickings in the street until cold execution.
On and off duty.
You will find us in front of you.
Wild times we are living.
Times of war.
We should make the terms.
Make our denial practice.
MOVE ON THE ATTACK.
-So we chose to attack with an incendiary device against the restaurant “Kreonidis”, a few hours before a cop gathering was planned to be held there.

Arsonist cycles of Disorder

Anti-immigrant rally stirs trouble

October 1st, 2010
Aghios Panteleimonas, the central Athens neighborhood that has become synonymous with racial tension over the last few months, experienced more unrest on Wednesday night when dozens of local residents, supported by extreme right-wingers, clashed with police and self-styled anarchists.
The Aghios Paneleimonas Residence Association, which is opposed to the presence of immigrants and refugees in the area, held a meeting on Wednesday evening in Attiki Square, where dozens of homeless Afghan families sleep rough.
Journalists were forced to leave the meeting, where residents were due to discuss plans to clear the neighborhoods of homeless migrants as well as who to support in the November local elections.
At around midnight, some 40 residents and members of ultranationalist groups marched along Acharnon Street with the aim of reaching a building known as Villa Amalia, which has been taken over by anti-establishment protesters. The self-styled anarchists responded by organizing a march of their own toward Aghios Panteleimonas Square. The two groups had to be separated by riot police, who had bottles and rocks thrown at them. Officers spent the next few hours trying to break up the anti-immigrant protest. Five people aged between 19 and 30 were arrested and charged with attempted grievous bodily harm, disturbing the peace and resisting arrest. Authorities said one of the suspects has a criminal record. They all faced a prosecutor and will be tried on October 12.
The residents’ association accused the police of allowing the self-styled anarchists to damage property but coming down hard on the right-wing protesters.

Riots in Amsterdam against the squatting ban

ACAB | 02.10.2010
Mass demo, a squatted house and street battles. Fuck the Krakverbod!

October 1, 2010

The day started with a mass demo of more than 800 people of all ages and backgrounds protesting through the main streets, a house was squatted along the route to show the powers that be that squatting will continue even with these attempted repression, there was music and food.

Shortly after the mass moved off and was attacked by riot cops, horses also charged from behind and separated the masses. With bricks and sticks peoples moved to the side streets to set up barricades and continued to batter the riot cops who didn't know what hit them. Tear gas was used and groups of undercover and riot cops were held back with bricks as the protesters turned cars and set fire to barricades as they moved off along the canals towards the center, a bank was attacked and shortly after when snatch squads were seen around the area people fell into the shadows ready for another day.

Military police office attacked with Molotov cocktails in Ñuñoa, Santiago

2 10 2010 From Culmine (October 2, 2010) via Radio Bío-Bío (October 1, 2010):
Note from TIOJ: This particular office seems to be a popular target for our Chilean comrades.

A military police office in the Ñuñoa neighborhood of Santiago—located at the intersection of Avenida Macul and Avenida Grecia, across from the Metropolitan University of Education Sciences (UMCE, formerly the Teaching Institute of the University of Chile)—has been attacked with Molotov cocktails.
According to initial police reports, a group of around twenty youths were trying to build flaming barricades in the street, and some of them threw several Molotov cocktails at the building.
The office, which serves as a rehabilitation center for the eastern part of the capital, is where people under preventive controls like probation go to register.
At the time of the attack there was only one guard on duty. After the incident, Carabineros and military police riot squad personnel were called to the site in order to tighten security. Pamphlets supporting the Mapuche cause and those arrested in the “Bombs Case” were found on the scene.

Bruxelles – Action against the Italian embassy

Today at 19.00 loads of shit where thrown against the Italian Embassy.
With this symbolical act, we wanted to denounce the murder Italian migration policy. Return agreements with Libya, racist laws, state violence against migrants, infernal detention centers make this country one of the most shameful example of the murder European anti migration policy, carried on with thousand of people drown in the Mediterranean sea, with people tortured in Libyan jails, with rapes and savage violence against detained migrants.
We prefer having the hands dirty of shit than of blood….

UPDATE ON SIMOS SEISIDIS SITUATION

1/10/10
TRIAL POSTPONED
His application for release in the case of his shooting by the cop, which has turned into... attempted homicide from Simos, was denied a few days ago. The thought of the prosecutor that Simos in “saint pauls” (koridallos prisons hospital) enjoys all the necessary attention he needs (this is where we laugh...), and because of the other cases on his back, he is considered to dangerous to be released...
The judicial and police authorities denied to comply as they should have to the demand of Simos Seisidis for a human and dignified transfer to the courts today. Simos demanded his transfer to be made with a normal cop car because of his health situation, and to not helping hem any of the cops to get out from the cop car! while the authorities insisted they used a special cop van with a small metal cage inside it. The prosecutor at evelpidon court showed good intentions to allow Simos demand, but was stopped by the pereus prosecutor and the management of koridallos prisons. Around of couple of comrades anarchists for solidarity! wos there all morning to see Simos bad next time..

Thursday, September 30, 2010

On Friday 1 / 10 at 9.00,ALL! THERE !!TO THE  courts where the road passes Cadets comrade SIMOS SEISIDIS

FOR SIMOS SEISIDIS

Tomorrow at 9 am comrade Simos will be taken through the magistrate's Cadets (building 10) to answer charges in a case involving the seizure of arms from the guard Kedikoglou. The only indication of involvement of the comrade is, according to their persecutors, a ... hair in a cap bearing the dna evidence.
After targeting him, they shot him and condemned him to a permanent disability [the amputation of a leg], and are continuing to seek every means to destroy him, even turning the hair into a ... rope. We are sure that the continued expansion of the file of Seisidis is an attempt to intimidate fighters, and respond as follows: State terror did not prevent over 8,000 people attending a concert in solidarity with Simos Seisidis. Definitely not terrorized, then, those who stand stand committed beside him, let alone Simo himself.
Against the indictments, in solidarity with our comrade we will all BE THERE.

Barcelona - One hundred young people attack Europe Bookstore and a Burger king

Wednesday, 29 September 2010

translated from culmine

press of the state / capital, 9/29/1910 - One hundred hooded youths took advantage of the ferment in the centre of Barcelona general strike to cause serious incidents in a day that, until noon, had lived in relative calm. Around 12.00 a hundred youths with black flags broke into the controversial Europe Bookstore, known for the distribution and sale of material connected with Nazism, plundering and destroying the interior. Located on Seneca Street, near the Diagonal, the bookshop suffered an attack that ended with the destruction and abandonment on the street of the material with which they work, including books, statues, flags and even an electrical appliance.
The demonstrators then left in the direction of Rambla Catalunya before the astonished gaze of the neighbours. Before leaving they left a tag painted on the door of the establishment that read 'fora feixistas' (fascists out) and 'bastards'.
Shops vandalized in Rambla Catalunya
A group of about 40 masked persons, on the other hand, were involved in several incidents during their tour of Rambla Catalunya. There they devoted themselves to smashing windows of the shops that remained open, and upturning rubbish containers.
One business that was left worse off in the vandalism was an establishment of the hamburger chain Burger King, whose window was completely shattered.

Spain General strike action in Almeria and Mojacar areas and barcelona madrit!

A general strike is taking place throughout Spain today aginst the so-called "austerity measures" imposed by the government and capital. Since midnight piquets, blockades, actions and demonstrations are taking place all over the Spanish State. The strike is planned to last for 24h until midnight tonight..

sciopero generale in spagna
picchetti, cortei, scontri…
pietre e fuoco!!

UPDATE:  In the east of Almeria Province – the Mojacar area – the morning of the national strike appears to have started without reported incidents. Pickets have not yet been spotted in the area and for all intense and purposes it is business as usual. Schools, banks. Petrol stations and supermarkets contacted were all open.
Meanwhile this morning, unions declared the 24-hour general strike in Almeria City as a resounding success. They claim 90% of businesses were shut, although in the early hours of the morning this was probably true.
At the strike of midnight 100 picketers barricaded the exit gates of the Almeria bus station to stop buses leaving. Ten minutes later 50 riot police dispersed the crowd and with some remaining at the station on guard.
At 6am a picket of about 40 people closed access to Almeria Port, although from 9am it reopened and is now reported as operating with about 30% of the workforce having joined the strike.
Municipal rubbish collection did not take place.
Almeria fire services have attended a dozen incidents of burning rubbish containers and tyres across the city.
Pickets also stopped access to several retail parks and industrial estates although this was before most of the businesses were due to open.
Nationally, the government assures minimum public transport services are in operation. Electricity consumption in Spain this morning dropped by 19% compared to the normal amount, attributed to the strike.
Clashes with police have been reported in Barcelona, Alicante and Vigo.+
Unions say construction and metal industries have seen a 100% participation with the strike.

Euro-demonstration against austerity measures

2010-09-29

BRUSSELS, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) — Around 100,000 people are expected to gather in Brussels on Wednesday for a key part of Europe-wide demonstration against austerity measures.
The European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) called for a European Day of Action on Wednesday to demonstrate against the austerity measures adopted recently by many European countries and to ask for recovery plans promoting quality jobs and growth.
As many countries have been badly hit by the global financial and economic crisis, European authorities have decided to implement drastic budget measures and social reforms, such as Greece’s austerity plan or France’s pension reform.
Between 80,000 and 100,000 members of fifty Trade Unions organizations from 30 countries are expected to take part in the demonstration held on Wednesday in Brussels.
After the demonstration, an ETUC delegation is expected to meet European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso and Belgian Prime Minister Yves Leterme, whose country ensures the rotating Presidency of the European Union.
Besides the Euro-demonstration in Brussels, a general strike has been called in Spain for the first time in 8 years. Actions and demonstration movements will also take place on Wednesday in other European countries, namely Portugal, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Cyprus, Serbia, Romania, Poland , Ireland and France.

Fight against the disastrous diversion dam of Acheloos river greece

"against the dam"
The dam and the works in Mesochora will be completed by the end of 2010. It has been completed almost 100%. The operation will begin in 2012 and will bring a profit of EUR 30,000,000. We only need to overcome the obstacle of the State Council”. This is what the Minister for the Environment declared in mid-July 2010 concerning the crime against the ecosystem of Acheloos from the pharaonic-like construction projects on the upstream and the total destruction from the attempted diversion of the river in Thessaly. They consider only the quantity of water diverted without reference to the destruction of the ecosystem of the river from its source in southern Pindos to the delta at the mouth of the Ionian Sea.
Acheloos shapes in the areas its waters run through for thousands of years a unique ecosystem with rich biodiversity in flora and fauna, which is directly dependent on its natural flow. It is a major factor in the quality of life of the communities on its banks and beyond the urban perimeter.
After the changes on the lower watercourse of Acheloos in the recent years with the creation of monstrous dams, waste disposal from small and large companies and silt, fertilizers and pesticides from industrialized agricultural production, the “boxing” of a great portion of it, ¨green¨ development of dams and the diversion of the upper reaches of the river, here they come again to complete the disaster. To give the final blow to the Acheloos, by escalating its looting
The capitalists, using as a trojan horse the ideology of “green” growth, continue their disastrous invasion, ignoring the impact on the natural environment and society. They count in euros the capital gain from the looting and prepare a new wave of attacks on nature and man.
In times of crisis of capitalism, political and economic bosses claim as a way-out the false ideology of green development, intending the continuation and deepening of the plundering of nature and society, the restructuring of state and economy under the tutelage of the EU and IMF
Although local initiatives are essential to the dynamics and evolution of this fight, their absence or decline would not mean a stop of the fight, especially since it is not a narrow local environmental issue but a central political issue.
This unprecedented attack that is already planned, will turn to disaster areas forests, mountains, lakes, seas, rivers across the country. The colonialism of capital on public land in every corner of the globe will wreak death and misery to local communities and the transnational bosses will be the ones to gain the wealth from this looting. On the one hand, the billions will accumulate and continue to be capitalized from multinational companies, while on the other hand society, immersed in the middle ages in matters of work, will produce in conditions of modern slavery all this wealth.
Today, the already existing diversion projects for Acheloos, whose completion has been stopped four times so far by the Council of State, is presented as works of “green” development. In essence, big construction companies pillage everything under the protection of the state like conquerors, giving their local fellow partners tidbits of the spoils and giving the local populations promises.
Here comes forth the contribution of the social movements and the importance of social struggle in defense of nature. Not expecting anything substantial from the institutional brokers, we are organizing from below the resistance and we are setting up our levees to stem the assault of state and capital in order to strengthen the ties of solidarity and camaraderie of those fighting and to synthesize our principles and our positions in the direction towards the comprehensive choice of breaking up with the power and antisocial requirements. Although local initiatives are essential to the dynamics and evolution of this fight, their absence or decline would not mean a stop of the fight, especially since it is not a narrow local environmental issue but a central political issue.
Understanding Acheloos as part of the natural world that was looted from the state and capital, common belief of those found from 2007 in Mesochora, was to intervene precisely where destructive activities evolve and contribute to the revival of the struggle against dams and the diversion of the river. In contrast, a logic that wants the fight to confine itself and move away from the point of dams and the diversion of the river where it was focused until now, we think it clearly constrains the fight’s potential,  becoming a disastrous choice, one step before admitting a defeat this thinking itself will lead us to.

The residents of Mesochora, since 1990 chose the dignified way of resistance, and it’s up to them to continue today. Against the local authority (mayors and prefects) and interests of the Public Electricity Company (DEI), the state and construction companies, but also beyond partisan and institutional logics that cultivate illusions – such as that the solution is the demand for the creation of a separate environment ministry – that lead to compromise, fatalism and resignation in the face of an imminent demise of the area.
From our side, seeking the radicalization, expansion and coordination of social struggle from below, we stand in solidarity alongside those who struggle collectively against the plundering of nature. And we consider our fighting presence in the area where the crime of the dams and the river diversion, as necessary and useful for the development and deployment of both the struggle to defend the Acheloos and local communities in its upper reaches, and for the protection of the natural world and society in its totality.
So, after a series of coordinated events and interventions throughout the year in Athens, Patras, Ioannina, Agrinio, Trikala, Karditsa, Larissa and other cities, we are once again for the fourth year on the banks of the Acheloos, in Mesochora in autonomous meeting for the fight.
Against the green development, the dams and the diversion of Acheloos
Against the looting of nature. Fight for Land and Freedom
Independent Meeting for the Fight
(Self-managed hangout, Agrinio / Comrades from Arta, Trikala / Initiative for the fight for Land and Freedom, from Strefi’s Hill, Athens)

Terrorist Action and demonstrations Witnesses with hoods!

Witnesses with hoods!
By Christos Zervas 23.09.2010
http://www.enet.gr/?i=news.el.ellada&id=205938
The government which claims to be transparent enforces a system of “hooded” witnesses at trials for terrorism and organized crime. In the same clandestine conspiratorial way which left every political, social and Trade union activity open to criminal prosecution for terrorism, it now “legalizes” the testimonies of anonymous witnesses in the courts!
According to new amendments to the secret Anti-Terrorism law, it is no longer compulsory for a witness to reveal his identity to the courtroom, even if it is asked by those directly affected, i.e. the accused!
The former order, which has now been abolished, forced the court to demand that the identity of an anonymous witness be revealed if asked by the district attorney or one of the accused. With the secret Anti-Terrorism law the court, in which the the request to reveal a witness's identity is made, can give its consent either in favor or against.
In other words, it is up to the discretion of judges to enforce the use of anonymous witnesses if they consider it necessary, as long as they somehow explain the reasoning behind this decision.
Of course, the order which prohibits the sentencing of the accused with only the testimony of one anonymous witness remains in effect. However, that does not secure the rights of the defendants, who are exposed to the accusations of people who they do not know and therefore cannot refute their claims fully. In any case, judicial experience up till today has shown how even the suspicion of another piece of evidence can be combined with the statements of "ghost-witnesses" and lead to long jail terms.
The judicial use of statements given by anonymous witnesses has been a constant demand of the American security services, as well as their European colleagues, who have pressured for testimony by “anonymous informants” (i.e. agents of the secret services!) to be considered proof.
Within the same laws what has also changed is the established system for witness protection, as protected witnesses can now be moved outside Greece! The option of being moved to other countries has been added to the choices of protection (change of identity, moving from one's job, and change of residence).
In addition, a new department has been formed which assumes responsibility for carrying out the measures of protection. It is determined by mutual agreement of the Ministers of Economics, Justice, Labour, Health, Education and the “Protection of the Citizen”.
This orgy of secret changes to the Anti-Terrorism law, made during the holidays by the reduced summer section of Parliament, through which the basic rights of citizens are attacked, were made without M.P.s realizing their real scope. Certain points of the changes were not even mentioned in the accompanying essay which lists the reasoning behind the changes.
The abolition of the order which secured that certain offenses, which aim at the protection of the democratic state or the application of basic individual, political and union rights, did not constitute terrorist activity, was carried out without any apparent reason or explanation.
Even the arguments made to refute claims against the government, which the government spokesman G. Petalotis tried to articulate, characterizing as “baseless” things that had been written about Trade Unions, at the end of the day simply confirm the unquestionable reality. He was on another wavelength, trying to excuse the inexcusable; he said, among other things, that “there is nothing wrong with Trade Unionism” and that “the government respects the Greek people, the Greek citizen and the forms through which he expresses himself; it is not afraid of Trade Unionism, but seeks dialogue; the issue of negotiation is a major aspect of democracy.”
But why has this so “transparent” government not negotiated these specific changes to the “Prevention of Terrorism" law in an open dialogue with its citizens, as they did with their other laws, but instead passed it secretly and conspiratorially, in the middle of the summer?

By Christos Zervas 22.09.2010
http://www.enet.gr/?i=news.el.ellada&id=205592
During the summer holidays, secretly and without any particular explanation, the government completely removed the protective mechanisms within the previous Anti-Terrorism law, mechanisms which protected political and Trade union activity, even those including violence, from criminal charges of “terrorist acts”.
Simultaneously the law now punishes more severely (with 10 years imprisonment) anyone who gives “substantial” information to terrorist organizations to facilitate their work, or gives them material or “immaterial” support even if the “terrorist acts” were not finally carried out.
With these changes, the prosecuting authorities are basically given a free hand. In this way even minor offences (such as property damage, bodily damage, disruption of transport, etc) carried out by an organized team of demonstrators can be arbitrarily characterised as terrorist activity.
It is now sufficient, according to the legal definition of terrorism, to simply judge that the accused intend to seriously harm a country or an international organization, to seriously intimidate the populace, or to illegally force the state or an international organization into doing or not doing something.
But why did the government go ahead with the abolition of these protective mechanisms in such a hurry and so silently? Some legal experts reply that the timing is no coincidence, given the current critical economic situation and the conditions of social conflict, which many are anticipating. The government looks like it is taking measures in advance, they add.
On the other hand, government sources say that all the changes are in accordance with the Constitution.
What is most worrying, though, is that these serious changes, which concern basic rights and freedoms, were made by the summer section and not by the plenary session of Parliament.
The new regulation, article 187A of the Penal Code, included in the law for the ratification of conventions of the UN against organized crime, was passed at the end of August and was made public the day before yesterday.
This basic and secret alteration abolishes paragraph 8 of the previous article, according to which the carrying out of certain offenses (felonies and less serious offenses) did not constitute “terrorist activity” if they aimed towards the protection of the democratic state, if they constituted action in favor of freedom, or if they were aimed at the exercising of basic individual, political and Trade union freedoms, as set down in the Constitution and in the European Agreement on Human Rights.
This regulation existed in the preamble to the European decision and was suggested by the creator of the Anti-Terrorism law, Michalis Stathopoulos. It was the legal guarantee that neither political beliefs nor open political and Trade union activity would be prosecuted.
Even then, all organizations for the rights of individuals had expressed their fears that something like this might happen. In Greece, anyway, demonstrators have already been tried for participation in a terrorist organization, despite the existence of the older protective mechanism.
There is also a favorable change, which punishes those who participate in a terrorist organization which was set up for the purpose of committing only minor offenses with a penalty of 1-6 years. It is however necessary for something like that to be proved.
As for the threat of 10 year sentences to anyone who gives essential information to terrorists, Parliament's scientific committee expressed reservations, noting the problem of vagueness and an over-extended widening of what is defined as deserving punishment.

The news-portal tvxs.gr has uploaded the short clipping below: here, we see members of the neo-nazi organization Golden Dawn (Chrisi Augi). According to the testimony of the person who shot the footage, the neo-nazis arrived in the area of Larissis Station (in central Athens) on September 22, at about 10pm, transported there by the police van shown in the video. This person started shooting after the neo-nazis had gotten off the van; they chanted anti-migrant slogans and sang the greek national anthem. Moments later, they re-enter the van, followed by police. A few minutes later they re-exited; the police withdrew and the neo-nazis held a demonstration. According to information received by tvxs.gr, on the same night migrants were attacked in the area.

The Netherlands: Squatting prohibition

We are squatters from the Netherlands. We are asking you to join us in our struggle against the squatting prohibition. We will have two demonstrations this week, on 1st October in Amsterdam and 2nd October in Nijmegen. This week mayor of Amsterdam said that in coming months 200 squats will be evicted in the city!!! If you can not come to the Netherlands please organize a protests or action in your place against the squatting prohibition that starts on 1st October 2010.
Demo in Amsterdam on 1st October: http://indymedia.nl/nl/2010/09/69650.shtml Demo in Nijmegen on 2nd October (english text in the second comment): http://indymedia.nl/nl/2010/09/69622.shtml Call out of "Spirit Of The Unity" Collective: To all the people who are against squatting prohibition, to all the squatters, to all ex-squatters, to all young people who would like to become squatters in the future, to all the friends and supporters of the squatters, to all political activists, to all antifascist activists, to all artists who create art and/or perform in the squats, to all bandmembers and DJ's that play in the squats, to all people who enjoy parties and concerts in the squats, to all travellers who visit and stay in the squats, to all of you who are not mentioned above. As you probably might know dark days are coming for the squatting movement in the Netherlands. The Dutch parliament voted for a squatting prohibition. From 1st October 2010 squatting will be illegal in the Netherlands. It means that people who try to occupy an empty building, will be considered a criminal and will be punished by dutch authorities. Penalties are very high and range from one year up to two years and eight months of prison! Please remember this would not have happened without the support of racist and xenophobic politician Geert Wilders. This is very serious threat! Don't let politicians destroy squatting movement in the Netherlands! We can't wait! We must act now! The future of the dutch squatting movement is in our hands. It is a big responsibility as well. We should show respect to those previous squatting generations who made squatting possible in the Netherlands. They sacrified a lot of time and energy for us. We should think about all the youth who would like to have the possibility to live in squats in the future. Mass media and politicians say that we are few, but our spirit is stronger then this rotten and unhumane law that politicians have created! We are willing to show politicians and police forces our determination in the defence of our rights for housing. There is lack of cheap houses in the Netherlands. For example in Amsterdam price of renting one small room range from 300 till 550 euros a month! Mass media and politicains say that we are violent, but those christians from CDU (Christian Democratic Party), CU (Christian Union) and SGP (Orthodox Protestant Party) are violent. For them empty buildings are more important than human beings searching for a house. Those christians decided that police will come to arrest us, if we try to occupy a house after 1st October 2010. We are proud of who we are and we are willing to defend our rights to occupy empty buildings. We won't give up without struggle! Some of you remember those proud and angry youth from Kopenhagen who were fighting for Ungdomshuset and dignity. Some of you probably have joined the struggle. If will be necessary, we are willing to bring the spirit of youth from Denmark and Greece to our streets! Politicians did not leave us another choice! From 1st October 2010 we have to choose between being homeless or criminals. This choice is not suitable for us! We won't live on the streets or in the prison! We are human beings and we deserve respect! We will fight for our dignity! There is few hundreds squats in the Netherlands. We can't afford to lose this enormous infrastructure! There are houses, autonomous centers, places for cultural activities. In all those buildings we live and/or practice and promote our political ideas. We use that space to promote independent art and underground counter culture in opposition to mainstream pop culture and art. Let us be a bit sentimental. For many of us to be a squatter is way of life. A lot of us spent the best times living in the squats. We had unforgettable adventures together. We have plenty of invaluable experiences, like living in self-organized communities or housing collectives. Many of us met their best friends in the squats. Yet another reasons to struggle against the squatting prohibition. Don't ignore serious threats for squatting movement in the Netherlands! Use your imagination, open your eyes, stand up and act! Our struggle is for a world without capitalism, race and gender differences, poverty and war! We are going to be very thankful for all your support. Solidarity is our weapon! "Spirit Of The Unity" Collective.

1 - We, political prisoners of the Mapuche Land Conflict in the area of Lleu Lleu, prisoners in Concepción and Lebu prisons, remind our people and international opinion as follows: 1 - We have been on hunger strike for 77 days and already four of us are in hospital, suffering from some liver and cardiac consequences, while one remains in prison of El Manzano, with a weight loss exceeding 20 kilos. Three other brothers in Lebu prison, are also weakened.
2 - Today, it has been possible to establish a direct form of dialogue with the government, through the important work done by Bishop Ricardo Ezzati. There have been some discussions on the requests of the representatives of the collectives of PPM (Mapuche political prisoners) of the various prisons in which have been exposed as indispensable: The non-application of the Anti-terrorism Law, the non-application of Military Justice (dual trials for the same offence) and non-use of masked witnesses as evidence.
3 - In this case we used the direct path of dialogue with the government to address our demands through concrete and fast political and administrative solutions, compared to the legislative route that we consider to be slower and more complex, although we have not completely excluded it.
4 - In this sense we have reached an important agreement, i.e. the waiving of the charges for violation of the Anti-terrorist Law by the government. However, we find ourselves trapped by the unwillingness of the Public Prosecutor to begin the new formalization of the charges.
5 – Although, we repeat, the political-administrative route is that most relevant to the urgency of the moment, so as to avoid fatal developments, we hope that legislative power, by the deputies of both the majority and the opposition, is capable of dealing with the question and of meeting international standards in matters of legislation, opening, through amendments to the anti-terrorist law - Ley Antiterrorista - a new option for the cessation of the hunger strike.
6 - Finally, we appeal to the People of the Mapuche Nation, to our brothers and sisters of other indigenous peoples who are resisting the capitalist States, and to the democratic and popular sectors to continue to remain vigilant and mobilised for our rights, justice and freedom.

3,000,000 € attack against European Space Agency research institute (Portugal)

/325.nostate.net/?p=1130
22 September 2010
Castelo Branco (Portugal): Fire in institute causes three million euros in damages
The fire that started this Wednesday at dawn in the building of the Instituto de Soldadura e Qualidade (ISQ; Welding and Quality Institute), in Castelo Branco, caused over three million euros in damages, according to its administrator Joaquim Guedelha.
The fire was ignited around 3h24 in the morning of September 8th, on the trucks parked next to the building and then spread to the institute. It was put down around 7h, as said by the chief of the fire brigade.
Joaquim Guedelha told Lusa (news agency) that the pavilion is going to be rebuilt, despite the huge damage, and maybe it’ll be ready to start functions again in three months, so that the Laboratory for Thermodynamical Trials (LABET), which is part of the ISQ, can restart its activity.
“We had several certification trials of cooling systems and transportation of perishable products going on, apart from the trials of materials we were doing for the European Space Agency (ESA)”, he said.
“The technical part of the installations is quite damaged, but the offices seem to be safe. By now it seems the project we were conducting for the ESA is safeguarded, but it’s still too soon to draw any conclusions”, said Vasco Pires.
The Castelo Branco ISQ, through its Laboratório de Ensaios Termodinâmicos (LABET), was testing the heat-resisting coating of the first ESA (European Space Agency) space shuttle.
Joaquim Guedelha underlined that the materials that were being tested are “unique, since this is the only place which is conducting these trials”.
All the materials and machinery inside the building were destroyed, but the administrator is optimistic: “we’re going to build other cooling tunnels similar to the one we had and put the machinery working, so that we can accomplish the objectives we had together with the European Space Agency”, he said.
Joaquim Guedelha also told that the ISQ will try to find temporary installations in Castelo Branco for the trials to go on until this building is rebuilt.
The Judiciary Police is investigating.

Solidarity flames for recent arrested anarchists -- Minsk, Belarus

Saturday, September 25, 2010

Two unknown people have thrown two Molotov cocktail bombs at the door of the detention center on Akrestsina Street in Minsk early on Monday, BelaPAN reports.

The door caught fire as a result of the attack at 04:23 a.m.

The city’s Maskowski district police department instituted criminal proceedings under Part Two of the Criminal Code’s Article 339 that penalizes malicious hooliganism.

It was not immediately known whether anyone was grabbed in connection with the incident. The press office of the city police department would not comment the report.

An anarchist group named Friends of Freedom claimed responsibility for the attack, saying in a statement posted on the Internet in the evening that they wanted to show solidarity with six anarchist activists arrested at the end of last week on suspicion of involvement in the August 30 fire-bomb attack on the Russian embassy in Minsk.

The six young men were arrested after an anarchist group claimed responsibility for the attack on the Russian embassy, in which a diplomat’s Mazda 3 car was burned after two glass bottles containing a flammable substance were hurled into the embassy's territory at about 10 p.m. on August 30.

The group said that the attack was in response to the Russian authorities' crackdown on activists protesting plans to build a new Moscow-St. Petersburg highway through a forest north of the Russian capital city.

CHILE - 4 comrades on hunger strike, demanding immediate transfer from Santiago 1 to CAS

translated from culmine   x solidaridadporlxspresxs.blogspot.com

24/09/2010 - Hello everybody, today, 24 September, the four of us: Felipe Guerra, Camilo Pérez, Carlos Rivero and Vinicio Aguilera found ourselves in a situation that, although it seems impossible, is worse than before.
Yesterday we were suddenly pulled out of our cells in the MAS (high security module) with no explanation and forced to take our things. Only then did we realize that this was a transfer. Uncertainty about the reasons and destination. We imagined a transfer to the CAS (high security prison), and instead we were transferred no less than to Santiago 1 jail.
After several hours waiting for the paperwork, we arrived at the death camp of capital, received by hostile prison guards and even more hostile prisoners. To strike us even more, to try to break our will, we were assigned to separate sections, adding to our growing anxiety the uncertainty of not knowing whether the others are all right.
For these reasons, dear comrades, we have decided that starting from now -24 September 2010 – we are going on hunger strike demanding to be transferred to the CAS or the MAS, because in these torture facilities our security cannot be guaranteed. We urge the support of all comrades, both outside and inside inside the repressive walls of the capitalist prisons, in order to achieve our aim.
Capital, personified by prosecutor Peña, maybe thinks that with this dirty game they will be able to weaken our spirit. But we do not falter, we will rise up more firmly than ever to withstand the blows launched in this witch hunt, materialized in a court case with no hard evidence (existing only in the fantasy of attorney).
I wonder: what does this cursed dwarf want? (An allusion to the stature of the attorney - translator's note). I guess they expect that, having no more strength, we will give in to his pressure and confess to acts that have nothing to do with us. But his efforts will not produce the desired results and we will resist his attacks, until the truth falls with all its weight on this pack of lies and we walk "free" on the streets again.
I send a cordial greeting, many hugs to all political prisoners and ask for your support in this effort.
Certainly be added, DEATH TO THE STATE AND CAPITAL. LONG LIVE ANARCHY! Greetings from Vinicio Carlo Aguilera Mery, Anarchist Political Prisoner hostage in the capital in the prison of Santiago 1

Mapuche Hunger Strikers Abandoned in Wake of Bicentenary Fiesta

Press Release – 20th September 2010
As the international community anxiously observe the rapidly diminishing health status of 35 Mapuche political prisoners on hunger strike (day 71), global media and international human rights organisations report’s, repeatedly denounce the Chilean government’s apathetic and irresponsible stance. Meanwhile prior to the bicentenary weekend, 39 MEP’s conveyed urgent letters to the President of Chile, appealing for a swift resolution to the issue, in order to avoid a tragic loss of life.
Mapuche envoy’s last week presented a resolution to the European parliament, whilst the EP has since dispatched a fact finding delegation to the region in conflict.
During continuous global and national demonstrations in support of the strikers, 4 Chilean MP’s and over 14 community members also joined the hunger strike. A further Mapuche delegation including two Mapuche Werken (envoys) attended the United Nations Human Rights Council, 15th session with the intention to make interventions over the next week, set to urgently alert the humanitarian body to the imminent yet avoidable loss of Mapuche life.
Amidst the Chilean bicentenary celebration, following the Chilean administration’s announcement of a specially extended bicentenary holiday, President Piñera announced on Saturday, “I will not enter into dialogue with the Mapuche hunger strikers until such time as the party is concluded.” However during a catholic ceremony  the following day in honour of the Bicentenary, the President stated that “the strikers have chosen the wrong path”, as such he maintained ‘that he will not in fact speak to the striker’s but only to ‘non-militant’ Mapuche whom he claims are ‘truly representative of the Mapuche nation’. However contrary to the presidents propagandist and manipulative rhetoric the entire Mapuche nation are in full consensus with the historic demands of their brothers on hunger strike; therefore one can only speculate with whom the president believes he will be seated at a dialogue table, in the absence of authentic Mapuche authorities.
The Catholic Bishop of Temuco, Manuel Camilo Vial, reiterated the government party line in stating that “we have to stop the process of adoption of society of systematic use of violence by other actors outside our reality.” The Catholic Church in fact owns a significant tract of Mapuche ancestral land in the Temuco region which in the past few days was actively recuperated by a group of Mapuche families.
As Saturday’s fiesta moved into full swing the President’s degrading, inhumane and insensitive comments were cause for great lament for the families of the dying hunger strikers and the Mapuche nation, who have in the last week been repeatedly rallied to hospitals due to symptoms of heart failure; in this context the premiers sentiments can only serve to damage the already fragile trust building process that could lead potentially lead to reconciliation and the preservation of lives.
Equally, the premier’s comment’s further compound the injury to mind, body and spirit, synonymous with the pillaging of Mapuche ancestral territory, the living body that is for the Mapuche,  ‘Ñuke Mapu’ (mother earth) and her indigenous inhabitants.
As a means of restorative justice and equality for the Mapuche currently living under a racist, discriminatory Chilean State law that has led to 35 vibrant and healthy Mapuche individuals to have no alternative but to seek recourse to such extreme measures in order to attain their fundamental rights in the absence of alternative avenues to justice the strikers call for an end to the militarisation of Mapuche regions, end to the application of Anti Terrorist law to Mapuche, end to simultaneous trials in both civil and military courts for civil crimes, freedom for all Mapuche political prisoners, end to the use of use of anonymous witnesses in Mapuche trials and restoration of Mapuche ancestral territory.

Excavator and police van torched in solidarity with Mexican and Chilean prisoners

27 09 2010 From Culmine (September 27, 2010):
In the early morning of September 23, we completely ruptured the social peace when we approached a Cuautitlán state security police van and placed an incendiary device inside one of its front tires. The van belonged to state security agency commander Israel. This fool previously had another van of his reduced to ashes outside his home one morning. With the memory of that action still fresh, we decided to visit him again. The action went according to plan. The van burned, demonstrating our ferocious hatred for the police—guardians of the systematic order they want to impose on us at all costs.
While that was happening, another device was left inside an Earth-destroying machine a few streets away from the first attack. The machine was used for the work of digging up soil that would later be entombed by cement, just so civilization could force itself on nature yet again. This was prevented.
The fire rose toward the sky, and after a few minutes we clearly heard the sirens of the obedient firefighters arriving on the scene.
We thus want to show that we will not remain passive in the face of everything, and that we will fight to the finish. As long as our comrades are imprisoned in the capital’s jails, we will not stop these attacks.
The next day, the wage-slaves stared idiotically at the damaged machine together with their masters, powerless to do anything. Let it be quite clear that they too are our enemies. We will not defend the interests of the “working class” or the privileged class, because we are not classists. We are anti-anthropocentrists and individualists. We struggle against this society, spreading the anti-social war through our actions. We defend the Earth because we believe in respecting her completely. We defend neither rich nor poor. We fight against civilization, for Earth liberation and total liberation. Let this be clear!
We frame this action in support of the anarchist prisoners in the fascist Chilean state. Also, in solidarity with Mexican eco-prisoners Adrian Magdaleno and Abraham López.

BIOLOGICA Squat Info. Thessaloniki Greece

BIOLOGICA is a collective, whose activity revolves around the autonomous (squatted) space in the department of biology, in the University campus, in Thessaloniki. As a collective, based on common beliefs around a D.I.Y. ideology, we engage upon concerts and relevant to the D.I.Y. music scene activities, in order to express our opposition to the commercialisation of music and creativity in general.
We regard music as a communication tool, to share common beliefs and feelings and therefore we stand against all profit making forms of music industry and stereotyped entertainment.
What BIOLOGICA tries to do (and has been doing for almost 18 years), is to raise consciousness against the "star system" society and deconstruct the idea of the "show", the audience and the producer. We aim at creating an interactive enviroment during concerts, where people can freely participate, with no constrains. That's why we find it important for everyone to understand that, concert organising has expenses and that we ask for the minimum compensation (2 euro-non obligatory entry fee), in order to cover the concert and maintenance expenses, as well as the traveling fees for the bands from abroad.
Last but not least, BIOLOGICA, aims through its activity, to contribute to the formation of the local D.I.Y music identity and initiate co-operation towards a common goal.

BIOLOGICA BAR: On Tuesdays, at Biologica squat, we hold a bar, which features film and documentary screenings, music nights and plenty of booze! Through this bar we are trying to propound an alternative way of entertainment, which is not based on profit making. Through this bar we try to initiate closer contact between people, that share a common interest in the D.I.Y. culture, and exchange perspectives around the subject.

Riots near U of O ‘like a war zone’

September 26th, 2010 from the signalfire.website

Sep 25
EUGENE, Ore. — Shattered glass and beer bottles litter the intersection of 13th Avenue and Ferry Street just blocks from the University of Oregon campus.
This is the scene one day after police took action against 400 college-age partiers Friday night.
“The party was just in the streets,” said student Antoine Simmons. “It was crazy. I’ve never seen that many kids in one place.”
YouTube videos have been posted by those who were there.
According to Eugene police, several residents hosted house parties on Ferry Street Friday night.  Those parties grew and eventually spilled onto the road.
Police said a sergeant on “party patrol” encountered the partiers.
“The sergeant noticed about 400 people in the street,” said Eugene Police Lieutenant Doug Mozan. “This is a huge crowd and these folks weren’t just statically standing around.”
Witnesses said it was all fun and games until people began destroying property. One neighbor said partiers started boxing on the street, breaking car windows and pulling down street signs.
All available law enforcement officers were called to the scene. Officers from the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, the Springfield Police Department and Oregon State Police assisted.
According to police, the mass of people was told to scatter. However, police say the group ignored their demands.
Authorities say the rioters chanted obscenities and threw rocks, bottles and eggs at officers. That’s when officers say they deployed at least three cans of tear gas.
“It was just all over and it engulfed the area,” said student Jared Kaufer. “It was like a war zone.”
Police got the riot under control at around midnight. In a press release police said nine people were arrested.
University of Oregon President Richard Lariviere is speaking out about the riot. He says he is “deeply disappointed by the behavior displayed by the young people” and said the event is unacceptable.
It’s the worst riot in Eugene since a 2008 incident that involved about 300 people. Ironically, that incident occurred just four blocks from Friday night’s party gone bad.

Basque writer Asel Luzarraga deported from Chile

24 09 2010 From Hommodolars Contrainformación (September 22, 2010) via CALPU (September 17, 2010):

Conviction requires Mapuche sympathizer to leave country despite all evidence pointing to political set-up
By Hedoi Etxarte
On December 31, 2009, Basque writer/translator Asel Luzarraga was arrested in Chile at his home in Padre de Las Casas. At the time, he was accused of four attacks carried out between December 2008 and December 2009. From the beginning, Luzarraga denied any connection to the attacks. In fact, his passport showed that he was out of the country on the dates of two of the attacks. Nevertheless, Judge Alejandra García sentenced him to preventive detention for the duration of the investigation.
Then the charges were modified: The Prosecutor’s office stopped investigating Luzarraga as the perpetrator and instead charged him with possession of explosive material. Found in his home—without a single fingerprint—were an empty fire extinguisher, less than ten grams of black powder, a fuse, and adhesive tape. Luzarraga spent forty-two days in preventive detention and was under house arrest until his sentencing at trial on September 7. The following day, according to regional newspaper El Austral, Cautín governor Miguel Mellado said that he would be appealing “to the International Police to take this character and drop him off at the airport so he can leave the country.” Based on his statement, it’s clear that Luzarraga’s prison sentence was symbolic and that the ultimate objective was to deny the renewal of his residence permit.
Luzarraga will have to leave Chile by September 22, fifteen days after sentencing. In determining the sentence, the judges considered the chemical evidence submitted on behalf of the defense by Analab and Temuco Catholic University to be insufficient.
Police also confirmed the detection of nitrate ions at Luzarraga’s home. Their evidence indicated the presence of nitrate ions in the city water supply, especially in the water and shampoo at Luzarraga’s home. According to a statement made by Luzarraga’s attorney Jaime Madariaga to the Autonomous University of Chile television station, that “explains why they found nitrate ions on his back.” In the same statement to the media, Madariaga added that the data invalidated what “the Attorney General’s office had made the public believe.” The Prosecutor’s office was also unable to explain the absence of fingerprints on the material seized from Luzarraga’s home.
El Austral took the defense attorney’s statement after sentencing: “It’s hard to feel satisfied when you know an innocent man has been convicted, but he certainly won’t have to go to prison, and that’s without doubt a relief to us.” He added: “As a society we are even weaker, because any one of us can be the victim of someone who leaves a bag containing drugs or a fire extinguisher at our house, and then be convicted regardless of the absence of any fingerprints, e-mail, or anything.”
No fingerprints
In the Basque newspaper Deia, Luzarraga maintained his certitude that neither he, his girlfriend, nor anyone who knows them could have left behind the empty fire extinguisher, fuses, and black powder that were found at his home. He reiterated how strange it was that there were no fingerprints and that the supermarket bag containing everything was missing. The writer had no hesitation in saying that it was all a set-up designed to persecute him politically.
