bank throwing molotof inside causing a fire.

The Building of the Hellenic Centre in the heart of London was occupied earlier this afternoon. 2 banners were flying on the roof and the balcony of the building. The banners said: ‘Freedom to Dimitrakis and to all Anarchists’; the 2nd writes ‘Honour to Lambros Fountas’ ‘Freedom to the 6′, and the 3rd banner 'Fire to the prisons! Freedom to Alfredo Bonanno and Christos Stratigopoulos!'

The 6 refers to the 6 anarchists arrested a few days ago accused by the cops of participating in the ‘Revolutionary Stuggle’; Lambros Fountas is the anarchist who was killed by the police in March and Giannis Dimitrakis is the anarchist who is in jail doing 35 years for a bank robbery. Today there was a call for international solidarity to Dimitrakis as his appeal trial starts tomorrow.

Arson attack on energy company.

At 16.00 unknown persons attacked a private energy company with a explosive device.
The device was placed in the entrance of the company "Een Hellas" , an private energy company on 27 Kifisias street on the 5th floor in athens.
From the explosion,only the front of the company was damaged.

Explosive attacks in Saloniki (Greece)

May 1st, 2010

Gas canister explosions occurred in different parts of the northern Greek city. The two incidents occurred on the early hours of Monday 26/4 against the National Telecommunications Organization and a news agency truck in the west part of Thessaloníki. The following night a Eurobank branch was attacked in Kalamaria, a suburb on the east part of the city.

A communique was sent on Tuesday 27/4 to Athens.Indymedia:

“We all remember, with excessive hatred, from the days of the arrest of Y. Dimitrakis in 2006 the slander of him through the de-ideologication of the act he made. The overextension of the charges from authority, and the
TV-snitches slandering anything about him and other comrades from his close friends.

Through those 4 years, and even before, the persecutor tactics on such cases is always the same according, of course, to the characteristics of the “guilty” ones. Fact is confirmed that when happens to be an anarchist automatically your close environment is criminalized and, thus, the search for participators begins.

Declassification of phone conversations, collection of finger-prints on immobile and mobile objects in houses, arrest warrants, informers willing to give any information they know are some of the basic tools used.

These same ones we find in front of us these last weeks with the case of the 6 detained already comrades that are accused as members of Revolutionary Struggle. All this atmosphere helps the achievement of total and indiscriminatal control from the state’s side. Constraint and daily brainwash through the media has double aiming. On one side to “cover” its mechanisms actions and on the other to separate the resisting parts of
society in violent and non-violent -therefore excepted-, clearly because of fear. For us, seeing these actions of the sovereignty enrages us even more and pushes us even more quickly to search for actions that will bring us
even closer to the end of this rotten world.

We stand opposed to all authoritarian mechanisms and to all snitches that assist their task and we directly take the counter-offensive for now and forever. On the night of 25th of April in Thessaloníki we attacked with fire a news agency delivery truck of “Evropi (Europe)” company in the area of Evosmos and a branch of OTE (National Telecommunications Organization) in Stavroupoli. We continued the next night again with an arson attack on a Eurobank branch in Kalamaria.

In a society of deceit and hypocrisy, of backstabbing and betrayal; there where human relationships are molded on personal profit and exploitation, within the narrow limits of involuntary/obligatory choices, the scope of creating honest and sincere ties of social or political solidarity becomes constricted, suffocated. And if in many cases personal interest and vanity create a concrete mass in a common course between those in power, economic elites, political groups and other subgroups thus creating the illusion of a solid front, then in as many other cases it has been proven that when these same are confronted with pressuring and extremely negative conditions with the possibility of a total collapse approaching, the seeming powerful gluing element which created these cohesive bonds retreats in an instant, leaving behind a crowd of subhumans, each one looking to save themselves and not hesitating of handing over into the hands of the until lately common enemy their until recently political-social-economic partner.

For me now at my 32 years of age, with whatever experiences I have and whatever political consciousness and understanding I have developed, it is indisputable that since always one of the most precious and powerful weapons in the hands of people fighting against the world of the overlords, in expectance of a fair and free near future, was and will be solidarity. A solidarity which does not shrink in the face of repression but on the contrary unfolds decisively; which does not weep but attacks; which does not forget but honors with its memory.

And it is this solidarity I have tasted in the nearly 5 years I remain a captive of the state and that has to a great decree steeled me in all the difficult situations I have had to face and as an anarchist and as a prisoner. From the different events and demonstrations, the occupations of radio stations and the multitude of printed propaganda material to the arsonist and bombing actions against state and economic targets. From Greece to Spain, Germany, the UK to Argentina and Mexico the common ideas, values and visions have erected a web of solidarity under which I also have the joy of being.

To all those who have stood by me through all my years of imprisonment and who continue in whatever way they can to give me the strength and courage to stand proud against all kinds of state mechanisms, I feel that I owe a part of myself.

So I salute and would like to thank all those comrades who within the context of the local and international web of solidarity that is developing and strengthening continuously in the last years and that breaks through borders and boundaries, considered and deemed it is worth for them to risk even their own freedom in order to build an effective mound and a counterweight to the attacks and decisions taken against me by those in power.

Before the final rise of the sun that melts the darkness that embraces us all, the scattered fires emerging and shining more and more frequently from the most distant and unlikely places, illuminate the points and imperceptible routes drawn out by the universal rebellious conscience. My heart and soul cannot but be wholly with it.

UPDATE #6, 17.40 GMT+2 The president of the Greek parliament, Apostolos Kaklamanis, found himself trapped between demonstrators who were booing him earlier on – he needed the intervention of riot police to run away in safety. Meanwhile, corporate media report at least 19 detentions and 10 arrests (i.e. people who are detained and now charged) today in Athens alone. A spontaneous solidarity gathering outside the police HQ on Alexandras Ave is underway at the moment, a few hundred are gathered.

In Athens, there are clashes outside the Polytechnic and riot police have descended at Exarcheia square. One demonstrator is reported seriously injured in the eye, hit by police batons.

The GSEE (trade union umbrella) concert has been interrupted by anarchists throwing red and black paint on stage. On Panepistimiou, many multinational stores have been trashed and there is now clashes with the police. A TV station van is on fire. Many detentions/ arrests, difficult to identify exactly how many, we’ll have a clearer picture in a bit.

02.04.2010 Unknown persons tried to set on fire a city council building in the city of Plovdiv in the middle of the night. The entrance door was severely burned.

06.04.2010 City of Kurdjali. Someone throw acid on a capitalist company car. Probably fired ex-workers from the same company.

08.04.2010 City of Dupnica. A man stole a police car right from the police station. Policemen started to chase him. The man crashed the police car and it exploded. The man escaped from the fire but he was arrested by the police.

15.04.2010 Small village of Kochan close to the border with Greece. There was a greek sewing company there. That night the owner of the company tried to load all the machines on trucks and move to another location (probably back to Greece). As workers heard this they came to the factory and occupied it. In previous months there was a lot of cases when foreign companies quit its work in Bulgaria, left the country and did not paid last salaries of its workers. This time this was not the case - workers occupied the factory until they received their money.


As we already mentioned in previous news in march a single woman managed to rob a bank in the city of Pleven. Unfortunately police managed to identify her on a security camera tape although she was disguised. They arrested her. It turns out that she is not a dangerous criminal neither a psychopath. She is an ordinary teacher. Now she can be sentenced up to 10 years in prison although this is her first "criminal act" and she has done it because of the misery (average salary of a teachers in Bulgaria is around 200 euro). But now she is the real people's hero of the day!

Vandals broke into the political office of Deputy Environment Minister Thanos Moraitis in Exarchia, central Athens, yesterday. The five assailants wore hoods and used hammers to cause extensive damage.

A court in Amfissa hearing the trial of two policemen implicated in the fatal shooting of teenager Alexis Grigoropoulos in December 2008 is unlikely to reach a verdict by June 6, by which date the officers will be eligible for release, as they will have reached the 18-month limit on being held in custody. Sources said that the court still has to hear from 15 witnesses, including forensic experts.

As usual, after or before a trial or the vote of a new law, the main press publishes analysis about the „anarcho-autonomes“ new theory. They also talk about „anarchists“ or „UltraLeft“, trying to define people with acts and books.
This new definition of the revoltees mainly appeared after the first arrests under anti-terrorism accusation, in January 2008 ( see HERE).

And now, for the April 28th call in solidariy with the greek prisonner Giannis Dimitrakis, France info* published its ideas. We learn some „french anarchists“ travel in Greece to learn how to fight ( there, their Ultraleft homologous teach them the urban guerilla methods). And then we learn with astonishment that the DCRI (secret police for information and action) is now interested in these people. The excuse, of course, is the last demonstration in Poitiers**, in October. More than 300 people walked the streets by surprise, all full masked and disguised, using the excuse of a Carnabal at the same moment. That demonstration was an answer to a prisonners transfert to the new prison of Vivonne. The other excuse for this new watch, are the last attacks at ATM’s and banks, „these last months“. And press to add: „since then, police made out some UltraLeft activists (sic) often stay in Athens. During the house-search, they found some documents showing they stood in Greece“. Then we are offered a nice historical lesson about Exharchia, and december 2008 revolt. Of course, internet is one more time introduced as a plateform to spread violence: calls for the liberation of the 70 people arrested at the Exharchia razzia, and in solidarity with Giannis Dimitrakis. The article ends with a parallel on Tarnac case, explaining that durnig the first investigations, police didn‘t understand why the main suspect (Julien Coupat) has travelled in Thessalonique.

Uprising in Malmo

Unrest erupted in the Malmö district of Rosengård on Wednesday evening with police forced to seal off the area before regaining control of the situation.

Some 20 police units, a total of 50 officers, were deployed to the troubled Malmö suburb to try to calm the situation as around 20 youths rampaged through the district leaving a spate of fires and vandalism.

“We have concluded that there were a total of five fires. A couple of cars, as well as a recycling station, were some of the things burning,” Peter Martinsson at Skåne police told the Dagens Nyheter daily.

Police were called to the area in the vicinity of Ramels väg in Rosengård at around 9pm on Wednesday. Residents of the area had become concerned over the gangs of young people and feared that fighting would break out.

Fire fighters were obliged to seek a police escort as they were subjected to stone throwing while battling to put out the fires in various parts of the district.

The police have confirmed that they considered the situation had been brought under control during Wednesday night and were able to withdraw their units.

Two Greek embassies attacked

GREEK embassies have come under attack in international solidarity actions supporting a jailed anarchist.

Reports the Latin American Herald Tribune: "Four people were injured and five others arrested in a clash between police and a group of protesters who threw stones and fire bombs at the Greek Embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentine police said.

"The protesters are members of an anarchist group that is demanding the release of Giannis Dimitrakis, a Greek anarchist sentenced to 35 years in prison for a 2006 attack on a bank in Athens.

"Three police officers and one of the detained protesters were hospitalized for treatment of wounds sustained in the disturbance.

"The clash started when demonstrators tried to set fire Tuesday to the door of the embassy, which is located in the La Recoleta district."

Meanwhile, Earth Times reports an attack on the Greek embassy in Prague, Czech Republic.

It says: "Unknown perpetrators hurled a flammable substance in the garden of the Greek embassy in Prague early Thursday, likely to protest the jailing of an anarchist in Greece, officials and an embassy source said.

"The resulting fire consumed a bush and damaged the embassy's entrance door, said Pavlina Adamcova, a spokeswoman for the city's firefighters.

"Police said the embassy was empty during the attack, which took place shortly after midnight and caused damage amounting to 20,000 koruny (1,036 dollars)."

It adds that the protesters sprayed the anarchist A and the name Giannis on the building's wall.

I prefered to maintain my freedom, my independence, my dignity as a human being, than to become a creator of wealth for my boss" Marius Jacob (French illegalist) There are people, that deny the capitalist ideology that has settled in most people's mind as a given characteristic of human nature, and look for ways to slip away from its everyday paranoia.
The robbing of a bank is a practice that cancels in the most immediate way, the relationship between boss and "slave", abuser and abused. Since it allows the subject to control in its own its time and appetite for creation, without dying slowly in the workcamps increasing the profits of the bosses (big and small).
It denys giving away this whole life to this unfair economic system, begging for crums in order to survive. It's a part of the generalized attack against the rotten world of submission and part of the plan for its destruction.
Of course, a robbery of a bank just to acquire more consumerist goods, is not an action against what exists but an action that conserves it. In the end it's the subject that defines the action.
[.....] On april 28th, G.Dimitrakis, who is accused of expropriating the National Bank of Greece on Solwnos Street in Athens on January 16/2006, passed again through the court desks to appeal against the first sentence and was sent away one more time to face the justice system. In an act of solidarity, we let the fire and not the court "judge" his life's choices.
So on the morning of April 27th, we put an explosive device in front of the door of the Emporiki Bank near the courts in Hania.
P.S. 1 : Solidarity to the 3 comrades wanted for the same case and to A. Bonnano, CH. Stratigopoulos, G.Voutsis-Vogiatzis and to all those who chose to attack the temples of money.

Dear comrades

On the occasion of the European Summit, celebrated in the Spanish State due to the rotating presidency of the EU, an anticapitalist and antiauthoritarian group has decided not to remain silent in view of the provocations the power in charge of the world crisis has implemented. We are ready to denounce the hypocrisy and the falsity of those who govern and to make hear the voice of the oppressed ones by any means necessary.

During this June, leaders of different countries will come to Barcelona, among them members of the European Union or other states, such as Israel and Egypt, in order to treat topics like immigration, energy, trading, social control, tourism… This set of meetings does not have any other goal than to consolidate their power and manage the economic crisis inherent in the capitalist system to support the social peace.

From this anticapitalist group, we would like to make an international call so everybody who has the chance could come to Barcelona between May, the 29th and June, the 7th in order to fight the established powers and break the silence of the social peace.

During these days, it has been organized a set of acts, mobilizations and talks which make an anti-summit days, reflecting on immigration, social control, etc, topics appeared in the official summit but the other way round, dealing with the autonomous, libertarian and combative point of view. From this group we invite all comrades to join the efforts and organize themselves against the established system.

Tamara set free!

Our comrade Tamara walked out of Brians prison this morning. Thanks to all who supported her in one way or another.

Not much more is known right now. We imagine that some of the appeals for provisional liberty pending trial have been granted, although we cannot confirm this. It’s likely that she will still have to face a lengthy judicial process.

LET’S HOPE ALL OUR ABDUCTED COMRADES SOON ESCAPE THE BEAST’S CLUTCHES.

Solidarity Demo at Prison, Milton, Ontario (Canada)

On Sunday, April 18th, 40-50 Anarchists and their friends held a noise demo in solidarity with prisoners locked up at the Maplehurst Correctional Complex and Vanier Center for Women. This superprison is located 30 minutes west of Toronto. As the march began, the front sign into the prison was spray-painted with the slogans “against prison” and “against police.” We walked around the (large) perimeter of the institution with banners, yelling fierce chants, lighting fireworks and banging on drums. The prisoners mirrored our excitement with powerful rhythmic banging, yelling and cheering. This enthusiastic response was felt deep in our crew. We were inspired to see the immediate and tangible result of our solidarity. The cops and screws were certainly not pleased with our presence there (and we certainly are never pleased with their presence anywhere). Despite the cops’ intentions, no arrests were made. On the way out we cut through the parking lot to distribute flyers.

Here is the speech that was read through a megaphone twice – once next to Vanier, and again near the maximum security wing of Maplehurst:

“There are about 1900 people locked inside this provincial superprison. Over 2/3 of whom are awaiting trial and haven’t even been convicted of a crime.

“The reason I’m here today is to express solidarity with prisoners locked behind these walls, and all prisoners fighting for freedom. I want the people inside Maplehurst and Vanier to know that they are not alone; that we are thinking of them out here, and we desire to destroy these cages with them. With all its violence and cruelty, repression and isolation, surveillance and harassment, prison is a daily reality that can’t be ignored or tolerated.

“Ultimately, the reason I’m standing here is because I want freedom. Not just this shitty excuse for ‘freedom’ we are offered on the ‘outside’ as long as we stay confined within the realm of acceptable behavior. I want a lot more than that. I want freedom from rape culture and patriarchy, police repression and court battles. I want freedom from borders and deportations, colonization and racism, and freedom from the State constantly dictating my choices.

“We can gain strength to fight for a world that we want to see, and challenge each other to create it. The dim reality that is this fucked up world can be confronted, as the function of prison can be weakened by our solidarity.

“I want to express solidarity with Giannis Dimitrakis, a bank robber and anarchist revolutionary from Greece who has an appeal to his 35 year sentence coming up on April 28. I also want to express solidarity with comrades in Vancouver facing repression and charges for the resistance during the Olympics. This is for all our comrades in Greece and everywhere who are rising up real fierce to tear down the prison-world. Across borders and oceans we can inspire each other and share struggle.

“There are no ‘humane’ forms of incarceration and punishment. Because the one thing the state can never give us is our freedom. This we will always have to take for ourselves.

“THE PASSION FOR FREEDOM IS STRONGER THAN THEIR PRISONS!”

April 12th, Dijon: arson of three vans of the Red Cross

„In Dijon on April 12th, three vans of the Red Cross caught fire and a wall has been decorated with “ manages and makes profit of ghettos for poor“.

Because localy and internationaly the Red Cross carries out the same rotten role, concerning the management of the poor populations. Humanitarian help, this „big market“ of specialists who construct their prestige and money with it, have beeter to keep their space, preventing if it’s needed the concerned people from helping directly each other.

Their tools of (re)pression couldn‘t stop the revoltees ( ‚antiterrorist‘ investigation about the solidarity actions for the prisoners of the prisons for migrants, in Paris, Turin, or any prison…). Indeed, one of the italian rentention center (CIE), managed by the Red Cross has mainly burnt on March 29th. In the CIE of Milan, other prisoners started a hunger/smoke strike to show their solidarity.

No social misery nor co-managers! Let’s feed ourselves with what they deign to drop, and muffle them with their crumbs.

Indonesia: Land dispute turns into urban warfare in North Jakarta, 3 dead and 150 injured

Jakarta – At least three people dead and 150 wounded. That is the toll from clashes yesterday in North Jakarta. Thousands of residents turned to urban warfare against 2 thousand public officials, backed by the police. The violence was unleashed by a dispute over land in sub-Koja district, near the port of Tanjung Priok. Rumors that officials demolished the tomb of a famous 18th century Islamic preacher also contributed to exacerbate the Muslims.

Overnight Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono called a press conference at the palace, calling on citizens to remain calm. “I am very sorry – said the head of state – for the violence that occurred in North Jakarta”. The President has ordered the governor of the capital, Fauzi Bowo to initiate detailed investigations on the matter. Meanwhile, one thousand police officers are guarding the city hall in central Jakarta, in an area not far from the offices of Vice-President of Indonesia and the U.S. embassy.

The origin of the clashes is a dispute over a plot of land – 20 square meters wide – near the busiest port in the country: the Tanjung Priok Export-Import, north of the capital. The area is in the sights of PT Pelindo, a company which runs the airport that aims to take over the property to build a road and rail link to the port. Injunctions by public officials to demolish illegal houses were met by a residents protest complete with machetes, sticks, swords and small arms.

Meanwhile, the ethnic Chinese community – the victim of a harsh attack in 1998, costing thousands of lives and destroying millions of business – is on alert for fear of further violence. The commercial heart of the capital is in fact only three kilometers from the area where the clashes occurred. Yesterday, demonstrators blocked vehicles and forced drivers to show identity cards, looking for plainclothes police officers or public officials.

The local Muslims ire has been further exacerbated by a rumour that officials – known by the nickname Satpol PP – demolished the tomb of Habib Hasan bin Muhammad Al Hadad, a famous 18th century Muslim preacher, the protagonist of the spread of Islam in Java.

Jakarta Governor Fauzi Bowo immediately intervened in an attempt to calm the waters, stressing that the administration has no intention of infringing on the place of worship sacred to all Muslims of North Jakarta. President Yudhoyono finally ordered the immediate cancellation of the plan to demolish of homes in the disputed zone.

Jakarta Police refuse to respond on clash containment failure accusation
Jakarta Police spokesman said Saturday that the institution would further evaluate Wednesday’s deadly clash in North Jakarta, refusing to respond on accusation that the police had failed to help contain the conflict.

“We have to look first; what caused [the clash]; who was responsible,” Sr. Comr. Boy Rafli Amar, the spokesman, said as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.

The riot in Koja, North Jakarta, claimed the lives of three public order officers and injured at least 128 people. The clash erupted as the public order officers attempted to seize an Islamic leader memorial complex.

Earlier on Saturday, Hotman Sinambela, a top official at the Public Order Agency accused that the police had left his subordinates as clash broke out, leaving public order officers to their own devices.

Jakarta Governor Fauzi Bowo had suspended Public Order Agency head Harianto Badjoeri.

The clash was triggered by a land dispute between state-owned port operator PT Pelindo II and the self-proclaimed heirs of revered Muslim figure, Arif Billah Hasan bin Muhammad Al Hadad, whose tomb used to be located at the memorial complex on the land.

Brussels - Tens of youngsters attack cops

BRUSSELS - Faking a fight, youngsters attracked the attention of police in the metro station of Rogier, center of Brussels. When two cops showed up, around 50 youngsters attacked them. The two cops got injured; two youngsters were later arrested.

It seems this was a pre-meditated attack against the railroad police.

BRISTOL UK: Serco van torched!

In the early hours of Tuesday, April 20th, a van belonging to Serco - a big player in the contruction and management of private prisons - was torched in Montpellier, north Bristol.

We took this action to express our solidarity with the anarchist comrades in Turin whom the Italian state continues to attack under the pracarious appearance of conspiracy, for nothing other than the distribution of anti-racist propaganda. We also attack for the comrades in Greece accused of participation in the 'terrorist' organization, Revolutionary Struggle.

Need it be said that we remember Alfredo and Christos, imprisoned in Korrydallos for a revolutionary act of expropriation against a bank in Trikala last October.

Until every filthy manifestation of this social prison in nothing but broken glass and burnt rubble, we will continue to fight.

FREEDOM FOR ALL IN GREECE AND EVERYWHERE!! international solidarity !!

Last Tuesday, March 23rd, a few hundred flyers were handed out at the entrance, inside and around the Commercial and Economic Section of the Greek Embassy in Lisbon.

The text of the flyer:

« Freedom for all, in Greece and everywhere.

It’s true, the situation in Portugal is the same as in Greece. Populations living in poverty, on a daily misery in which we feel life turning into survival, at the same time that bosses and banks rob us of each moment and each place that used to be ours. Police, courts and prisons for those who dare to confront that misery and, increasingly, even for those who do not confront it at all. People that with a disgusting regularity are persecuted, beaten or murdered with shots by the police, because we all are a potential threat, no more no less, because the State has the authority and the weapons and the fear of revolt. Prisons that efficiently do their job: to eliminate dignity, to serve as a warehouse of undesirables, to give the example, to execute rebelliousness. To execute, plain and simply.

But in Portugal, as in Greece, as everywhere, there are those who do not stay still in the face of this system of exploitation, of oppression, of the elimination of everything that still breaths freely. There are those who put despair and resignation away, and grab life with nails and teeth, going for the attack.

Christos Stratigopoulos and Alfredo Maria Bonanno are only two of those individuals, arrested on October 2009, following a bank robbery in Trikala, Greece. Regardless of the crimes they are being charged with, the struggle for freedom is the crime they’ve always committed.

We want to denounce, in particular, the abusive detention of Alfredo M. Bonanno under unacceptable conditions in the prison of Koridallos (Athens), worsened even more with the attempt to frame him up with another bank robbery on July 2009. The politics of vengeance of the State has the aim of eliminating physically and psychologically this comrade of 73 years old who faces serious health problems. Alfredo Bonanno is an anarchist, involved in the movement since decades ago, active in the resistance against the dictatorship of the Greek colonels (1967-1974), and writer and editor of many anarchist texts. These are the true reasons for which they keep him in prison under conditions that endanger his life.

We demand the immediate release of Alfredo Maria Bonanno.

For the destruction of all prisons.
