-Update on the demonstration to koridallos prisons 19th of June.

News from Greece

Comrades put banners up in Eleutherias square. The center of koridallos is under the control of the riotcops etc.
We havent seen this much democracy since the junta. These socialists in green brought down everything but the riotcop tanks (waterthrowers)...
The demonstration happend with no problems, and had a strong vibe. There was astop in the park near by the male prisons and there was alot of chanting while the prisoners waved cloths from the cell windows. The same thing happend at the female prisons where the prisoners were chanting and waving cloths aswell.
Generally a very good demonstration, aswell with the communication with the prisoners.

UPDATE ON C.C.F. TRIAL

The report of search and confiscation concerning the search in the residence of Hadjimihelakis was rejected as fake by the advocates of the defendants, in today's trial. The reason was the testimony of Afrodite-Nina Hadjimihelaki, mother of Manos Giospas and aunt of Haris Hadjimihelaki, who appears (in the report) to be present at the three-day search in the alleged “safe-house” where the recording took place. Afrodite declared in the court that she was present only the first hours of the search and afterwards she returned to her house, meaning the first floor, above the alleged “safe-house”, since she was under house arrest.

According to her, two days after the search was completed, cops of anti-terrorist force went to her house and asked her to sign the report of confiscation, a typed up 73page document which had as a date two days earlier. She denied to sign it.

The document had the signature of nine public prosecutors which, as it was mentioned on the report, were present during the recording. The witness claimed that for the hours that was present, she did not see public prosecutors.

After her testimony the defence advocates submitted an objection of falseness of the document and they asked that the public prosecutors that claim to have attended the search to be called as witnesses.

The theatre will continue on Monday 4^thof April.

UPDATE FROM THE APPEALS COURT ATHENS OF ANARCHIST SIMOS SEISIDIS

About 50 gathered in solidarity, most outside the court room (they didn’t let them in claiming there were no seats).

Mostly today there were demands from the defence, concerning transport (handcuffed etc), and the masked armed cops in the court room. The cops chased some comrades down to Alexandras av. They definitely beat one comrade, it started when family members and comrades of Simos were attacked with no reason by the cops.

The trial continues on April 12^th.

This Monday 28/3/11 in the Assembly for Solidarity there will be a discussion on the case of Revolutionary Struggle, since on the 10^th of April it will be 1 year detention for those who were arrested for the case. On the 5^th of April there will be the council that will decide the extension or not of the imprisonement of the arrested.

SOLIDARITY TO THE CHILEAN ANARCHISTS ON HUNGER STRIKE SINCE 21/2/11 (athens)

On August 14^th2010 in an coordinated attempt of the police

raids are carried out in various squats and houses in Sandiago Chile

as well as other parts of the country.

14 people are arrested and accused of placing explosive and incendiary devices

and constituting an illegal terrorist organization.

The case is known as the “bomb case” and the arrested are prosecuted with the anti-terrorist

law which was invented during the dictatorship of Pinochet and continues to exist until today.

From the 21^st of February the 9 of the 14 anarchist prisoners have started a hunger strike

with main demands their immediate release, the end of the legal and police conspiracies and the

abolishment of the anti-terrorist law.

UPDATE ON C.C.F. TRIAL
24/3/2011

Panagiotis Masouras returned to the trial today after being released a few days ago, having served 18months without being sentenced (the greek law states that if your on remand for 18months without being sentenced you are released).

Although the comrade so far has abstained from the procedure, he appeared today in the court and took a seat in the defendants stand. But he did not make clear if he will participate in the procedure, neither if he is “here” in the legal sense.

His lawyer did not appear but Panagiotis said he remains his lawyer he just could not come today. The trial continued with the testimonies of the defence witnesses. First the owners of the apartments that G.Nikolopoulos rented in Exarxia from september 2007 to january 2009. The owners spoke of a perfect tenant that completed all his responsibilities.

After that testified the mother of M.Giospas who is also H.Hadjimihelakis aunt. She lives on the 1^st floor, above the house that was later called a “safe house”. Describing the people visiting her nephews house, she spoke of people who gathered to watch movies, play video games and have conversations without taking any precaution measures, with the windows always open and everything “out in the open”, as she said. She mentioned that she entered her nephews house many times and she never saw any, as she said, suspicious objects such as pots or wires.

Finally, describing the day the cops of the anti-terrorist force raided her house and the one below hers, she said it was the worst experience of her life.
“Men with masks and guns obliged me to remain under 'house arrest' for three days, while they searched both houses. They didn't allow me to come into contact with anyone outside, neither to communicate with my son who they arrested without a lawyer”.

The theatre continues next Thursday.

UPDATE ON ARIS SIRINIDIS TRIAL

The trial began around 9. 30 comrades were in the court room as well as 30 outside. The defence witnesses are 47. Last time 17 testified. Today two more. The second witness describes the shooter as a very tall guy, skinny with long hair and a ponytail and said clearly that it was not Aris Sirinidis. Another witness, a foreign national with no known address is not appearing in court and the defence of Aris insisted that his testimony is read in the room. In his testimony he describes a guy tall like a basketball player with long hair.

Worth mentioning is also that the court wanted to examine a cop-witness that has had pre-interrogative duties. Aris defence immediately produced a document-decision of the supreme court stating this is illegal. After an agreement of the judge and the prosecutor, the cop will testify as a person with special knowledge, (on the mask with the d.n.a.), and not as person with pre-interrogative duties.
The theatre will continue on April 11^th

On 4/12/2010 Anarchist squat Nadir is raided in the frames of the methodical repression before the 6^th of December and 9 people are arrested inside Nadir and 3 people in the centre of Thessaloniki. They are charged with occupying a building, possession of weapons (some flags that are used at protests etc.), running an illegal radio station as well as forming a criminal organization. Three comrades are still imprisoned, two in Avlona prisons and one in Diavata prisons.

No prosecution of the revolted in Greek prisons

On April 2007, an uprising in Koridallos prison was held in solidarity to the detainees in Malandrino prisons, who had revolted after the anarchist Yannis Dimitrakis was beaten up [inside the same hellhole]. The revolt in Koridallos prison wings was suppressed by police squads.
On 14 January [2011], 23 prisoners stand trial for ‘disobedience, sedition and inciting attitude’ facing additional penalties of at least 10-year imprisonment.
They stand trial because they claimed their self-evident rights.
The criminal charges against the 23 were filed after the deposits of Koridallos prisons’ officials: Vassilis Lambrakis (chief warden), Panagiotis Panagopoulos (deputy warden), Vassilis Kalogeropoulos (jailer).

From High-Security Prison (CAS) in Santiago, Marcelo Villarroel—a former Lautarista charged with the October 2007 Security Bank robbery during which Carabinero Corporal Luis Moyano died—agreed to answer part of a lengthy questionnaire we sent him a few weeks ago. Villarroel, who was a prisoner at CAS during the 1990s, was part of the Kamina Libre collective, which District Attorney Alejandro Peña now considers one of the progenitors of the “Bombings Case.” Here, despite the awkwardness of answering a questionnaire, Villarroel explains his ideological evolution and what it means to be an anarchist. on February 17.2010, anarchists Polys Georgiades and Vaggelis Chrysohoides were being handed convictions of 22 years and 3 months imprisonment each. The two received near to the maximum sentences allowed for the kidnapping on June 10, 2008 of Georgios Mylonas – the boss of Alumil SA, one of the larger aluminium system suppliers in Europe, and president of the Northern Greece Industrialists at the time (gaining a questonable fame with declarations such as “workers need to fasten their belts harder”).

04/08/10 Renata Zelazna is a friend of ours and a vegan and anarchist who was on remand over an unfortunate chain of events. She was arrested in April 2010 in Holland where she had moved to study, after an altercation with construction site workers which ended up with police threatening her in her own flat. She was holding a knife that she was chopping vegetables with – initially leading to charges of attempted murder!
